- Undoubtedly, the issue of “the lawful and unlawful” is the essence of Islam and the evidence of true Faith in the sight of Allah.
- This is because good righteous work is the token of true Faith as much as commitment to Allah’s Divine Commands is the sign of righteous work.
- love is the mark of sincere commitment and obedience because without love commitment is mere hypocrisy and eye
- service. Hence, the importance of the issue of the lawful and unlawful in Islam,
- which is Allah’s last and final Religion for the establishment of the ideal human civilization.

All praise to Allah the lord of all worlds, blessing and peace be upon our master Muhammad the truthful in what he had promised and the trustworthy. O Allah we have no knowledge apart from what you have taught us, for you are the all knower and the all wise, so teach us what is beneficial to us, and let us benefit from what you have taught us and increase our knowledge, and let us see truth as it is and make us comply with it, let us see falsehood as it is and make us avoid it, and let us be among those who listen to what had been said and follow the best of it, and let us be under your mercy with your righteous servant. Take us out of the darkness of ignorance and illusion to the light of knowledge, and from the mud of lusts to the gardens of obedience.

Honorable brothers, we will start today with a new lesson of the prophetic biography, we shall move to his names (pbuh).

The prophet (pbuh) has many names that scholars found and explain the meanings of them and what they indicate.

It has been authenticated in the two references (of Al-bukhari & Muslim) that Mohammad Bin Jubair Bin Mat'am heard his father saying:

The Prophet (pbuh) said:

I have five names, I am: Mohammad, Ahmad, the terminator by whom God terminates infidelity; am the one of whom people will be resurrected at his feet; I am the successor, i.e. no prophet shall come after me.

In another saying in the Authentic Muslim:

Abi Muosa Al Asha'ri said: The prophet (pbuh) call him self with many names, he said:

I am Mohammad, Ahmad, Al-Muqafi, the Gatherer [of whom people shall gather around on the judgment day], the prophet of repentance and the prophet of mercy.

Honorable brothers, the names of the prophet (pbuh) are of two kinds: one that are restricted to him only, no other prophet had shared it with him; such as the five names mentioned in his authentic saying.

Another kind that he (pbuh) shared with the rest of the prophets: The Witness, the herald and the prophet of mercy. He is best known as Muhammad (pbuh).

This name [in Arabic] is derived from the word 'praise' which connotes praiseworthiness, to love him, to glorify and honor him (pbuh).

He is (pbuh) praiseworthy by God and by people and even by him self; a bright person could be praiseworthy by people but he could not praiseworthy by him self.

Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc…) will speak about his deed; though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds).

Surat Al-Qiyamah Verse: 14,15

A man could be praiseworthy by God for performing worships, and being disciplined according to the course of Allah; but also, he may not praiseworthy by people for not being merciful and not being characterized by the prophetic manners; he maybe praiseworthy by him self but not by people.

Heroism in the prophet (pbuh) is that he is praiseworthy by God, by people and by him self.

Therefore [in Arabic] the name Muhammad is the exaggerated form of praise which means the beloved, the glorified, and the esteemed; when such form is used [in Arabic language] this denotes the repetition of the verb on the object either for being worthy of it, or being the object.

The name Muhammad literally means the one of whom has been praised time after time, or the one who is worthy of being praised time after time, either the praise is done on his blessed self, or he is worthy of it because he come for the benefit of mankind.

By the way honorable brothers, I will give you a wonderful rule:

If you want to know your standing according to God, then you should look in what He made you occupied with.

If you wanted to know if you are dignified by God then know for certain that the highest dignity one could get to is to know Him, and the greatest dignity according to God is to be straight according to His order.

Straightness is the heart of dignity, and knowing Allah is the greatest dignity for it does not need abnormalities.

And [He] taught you that which you knew not. And Ever Great is the Grace of Allah unto you (O Muhammad pbuh).

Surat Al-Nisa Verse:113

Honorable brothers, another comment that I would to give:

It is sad thing that a Muslim has a perfect name but he is not; for instance, some called Saeed [means happy] but he is not.

Heroism is that your name must match your personality. There is a rule in Arabic language that says: if you know a name [of someone] this because he is characterized by that name.

For instance; Mr. so and so is Rashed [means rational], so if you say Rashed came this means that he came with his rational behavior, therefore it is the childrens' right that there parents call them with fine names, and the best names are Abed [servant of God] & Hamd [praise].

Honorable brothers, the prophet (pbuh) had been begotten by Abdullah Bin Abed Al-Muttaleb, he was married to Aminnah Bint Wahab the son of Abed Manaf, the son of Zuhra, the son of Kilab, the details of this marriage was not reported through correct methods, but what matters the most is that the prophet (pbuh) was the fruit of the marriage of Abdullah Bin Abed Al-Mutaleb and Amina Bint Wahab [Pre Islam, old Arabs were concerned about the lineage of their families].

Furthermore, one may wonder: why was the prophet (pbuh) an orphan, he knows his father but he had not seen him. His father died when he was in Al-Madineh at his uncles' (the clan of Al-Najjar).

Al-Zuhri mentioned that Abed Al-Mutaleb sent his son Abdullah to buy dates from Yuthreb [Al-Madineh Al-Munawara] then he died there. Aminah gave birth to the prophet (pbuh) under the care of Abed Al-Mutaleb.

The Holy Qura'an mentioned that the prophet (pbuh) was an orphan:

Did he not find you (O Muhammad [pbuh]) an orphan and gave you a refuge?

Surat Al-Duha Verse:6

O brothers, I heard once something that touched me deeply, I heard someone saying to his friend: if this child did not have a father then he must have the Lord, so those who lost their fathers they under the patronage of God:

And it may be that you dislike a thing which is good for you and that you like a thing which is bad for you. Allah knows but you do not know.

Surat Al-Baqarah Verse 216

He who loses his father may become a very distinguished person.

A powerful rich father maybe an obstacle in his son's way to reach the highest rank [in a certain field], for every thing is at his disposal, as for those little orphans they have nothing, so they work really hard.

But what I would like to clarify to you is that a human being is free to choose in what he is assigned, he is ordered to pray so he is free to choose, he is ordered to fast, ordered to avoid looking at women, he is ordered to investigate whether his earnings are legal according to Islamic jurisprudence and to spend it according to Allah's order.

However human beings are not free to choose their gender, a male or a female, not free to choose the parents, not free to choose the city of birth and the date of it, not free to choose the look, characteristics and potentials. I know for certain that what you are not given to choose is the most wonderful thing.

The great Imam Al-Ghazali has expressed that saying:

"It is not possible to make things more wonderful than what they are [the way and the look that God -exalted He is- had created them]"

What you have not been given to choose fits you the best, and then on the Day of Judgment, the secrets of fate [the unseen or unconceivable or deemed to be misfortune to one's mind] shall be revealed to know the reason why one was not given the privilege to choose, therefore the relation between God and His servants can be summarized on the judgment day with one phrase:

And the close of their request will be: ( Al-hamdu Lillah Rabb-ill-Alamin) praise is to the Lord of worlds

Surat Yunus Verse: 10

You should be satisfied with what Allah has given you. A man was circulating Al-Ka'aba saying: O Lord, are you pleased with me?

Imam Al-Shafi'i [one of the leading knowledgeable scholar of Islam] was behind him, he asked the man: Are you pleased with God so that He will be pleased with you?

The man said: may God bless you but who are you?

The Imam said: my name is Muhammad Bin Edrees.

The man said: how am I going to be pleased with God if I am desperate for his pleasure?

The Imam said: if your pleasure with the grace [that He bestowed upon you] is same when He deprives you of it, then you are pleased with The

Lord.

Therefore you should know for certain that when you have not been given to choose, being a female or male, or choose your father and mother, your city, the date and the place of your birth, your look and your capabilities in general are the best things for you, but according to what Allah has prepared for you to live an eternal happiness.

Dear brothers, the most authentic narrations that mentioned the birth of the prophet (pbuh) that he was born on the 12th of Rabi'Al-Awal [it’s a name of a month in the Arabic calendar, which based the lunar system] known as the year of elephant.

By the way, the 12th of Rabi'Al-Awal comes on Monday every 365 days. This year the 12th of Rabi'Al-Awal marked on Monday, this is what we call in sera [the biography of the Prophet (pbuh)] an early sign.

The prophet (pbuh) was born in the elephant year, when Abraha Al-Ashram headed to Mekkeh to tear down Al-Ka'bah.

Because he wanted people to perform pilgrimage to a church that he built in Yaman [south of the Arabian Peninsula]

[He was on top of a great army with elephants so when he became near Mekkeh his solders stole a cattle which belongs to Abed Al-Mutaleb (the prophet's grandfather).

He went to Abraha who was lying down arrogantly in his tent, but he admired his solemnity.

Abraha said: what can I do for you?

Abed Al-Mutaleb said: I came here to claim my cattle of sheep.

Abraha was irritated by that request, he said: how could man with such a stature ask for a worthless thing? I thought you were going to ask me not to tear down Al-Ka'aba and Mekkeh!

Abed Al-Mutaleb said: am in charge of this cattle, Al-Kaa'beh (the holy house) has its own God to protect it, and then he left.

Have you (O Muhammad pbuh) not seen how your Lord dealt with the owners of the Elephant?

Did He not make their plot go astray?

And He sent against them birds, in flocks,

striking them with stones of Sijjil [baked clay].

And He made them like (an empty field of) stalks (of which the corn has been eaten up by cattle).

Surat Al-Fil Verse:1,2,3,4,5.

The story is known to you, in comparison to this story I shall say: do not worry about this religion, it is God's religion and alone shall undertake its protection. In another word there is no power on earth-on earth no matter how overwhelming it is- can corrupt the guidance of Allah to His creatures.

They (the disbelievers, the Jews and the Christians) want to extinguish Allah's Light (with which Muhammad pbuh has been sent –Islamic monotheism) with their mouths, but Allah will not allow except that His Light should be perfected even though the Kafirin (disbelievers) hate (it).

Surat At-Taubah Verse: 32

Tell me if someone faced the sun and blew in order to extinguish it, where do you think that person should be?

In the mental hospital, right?

Those who are on the other side want to extinguish the light of god with their mouths; if you blow from your mouth to extinguish the sun does nothing, then how is the case with the light of God?

But Allah will not allow except that His Light should be perfected even though the disbelievers hate (it).

Surat At-Taubah Verse: 32

Verily, those who disbelieve spend their wealth to hinder (men) from the Path Allah, and so will they continue to spend it; but in the end it will become an anguish for them. Then they will be overcome. And those who disbelieve will be gathered unto Hell.

Surat: Al-Anfal Verse: 36

Say (O Muhammad pbuh) to those who disbelieve: "you shall be defeated"

Surat: Al-Imran Verse: 12

And the (blessed) end is for the Muttaqun (the pious)

Surat Al-Anfal Verse: 128

You desire something and I desire something, but God does what ever He wants. Do not be concerned about this religion; it is the religion of God.

But we should worry about our selves whether God has allowed us or not to be solders for this religion [through spreading virtue and helping the poor in their difficulties of life and supporting those who have been oppressed against the oppressors etc….] it is indeed, a great honor.

Another thing, it had been authenticated that Thawbiah –the servant of Abi-Lahab [the prophet's (pbuh) uncle who was totally against him and his religion and fought him fiercely] breast fed him (pbuh).

It had been proved that his uncle Hamzah Bin Abed Al-Mutaleb [his other uncle who loved him dearly but did not convert to his religion at the beginning but then he became a Muslim and won martyrdom in Al-uhod war against the disbelievers] was his brother in breast feeding [in Arab culture and in Islamic tradition it is commonly known that if a baby was breast fed by a woman other than her/his mother, then all the sons and the daughter of this mother will be her/his sister/brother in breast feeding, so they can not marry each other and their mother will be her/his mother in breast feeding], and it has been authenticated that Halimah Al-Sa'adiah breast fed him (pbuh) and he lived with her in Al-Badiah [semi desert] where a miracle (slitting of the chest) took place. It needs to be introduced.

O brothers, this text or this incident has its special connotation, so we accept it with it, but we do not when it is understood with another one.

For instance; if someone said: God has men of whom if they will to so something, He wills.

If you interpret this sentence that those men have an independent will than the Lord's then it is the heart of association with God [which is considered in Islam as the greatest unforgiven sin unless repentance was not asked from Him-exalted He is.

However; if I interpreted the text in its right context that they are men of an answered prayer, then nothing wrong with that.

Now if we imagined that the slitting of the chest [when the prophet (pbuh) was a little child, two angles took him away to slit his blessed chest in order to take out a black leech from his heart] meant that Allah had taken from the heart of the prophet (pbuh) through two angles was the misfortune of the devil then [Muhammad] become a prophet- then there is a problem.

Someone may say that if this black leech represents evil then how come hasn't it been taken from the heart of all human beings so that they would all enter paradise? How come it is placed there the first place?

However, if we understand that the slitting of the chest is nothing more than a miracle then it's an early sign that has a meaning.

This incident in such explanation is a one of the miracles of prophet hood.

That man who was born by the veracious lady Mary and he talked to her:

And peace be on him the day he was born, and the day he dies, and the day he will be raided up to life (again).

Surat Maryam Verse: 15

Do we call this a miracle? Do we call it a sign?

When he [Jesus pbuh] grows up then Allah makes him a prophet, it is an early sign of his prophecy [when he talked to his mother while he was in his cradle]

And the slitting of the chest of the prophet (pbuh) is an early sign of his prophecy as well.

This indicates that there is something in prophecy; Allah had chosen them according to His knowledge of them.

There is another endowment in prophecy, slitting of the chest is an endowment, but the compassion of the prophet (pbuh) and his dedication to God and his devotion to serve people are qualifications. So prophecy has qualifications and endowments, and each has evidence:

Allah chose Adam, Nuh (Noah), the family of Ibrahim (Abraham)and the family of Imran above the Alamin (mankind and jinn) (of their time).

Surat Al-Imran Verse: 33

It is an evidence of qualifications; Allah had chosen them according to His knowledge. [The prophet pbuh said] God had chosen me and my companions; all the mentioned texts [of the Holy Qura'an & the prophetic sayings] confirm the qualities that the prophet (pbuh) had, but as for the slitting of the chest, miracles, revelation, and the memory that would not fade, these are all endowments which are means to introduce and to deliver the [divine] message.

The text in which the slitting of the chest had been informed:

Anas Bin Malek took the authentic narration from Muslim that at the age of 14 Gabriel took the prophet (pbuh) as he was playing with kids, he knocked him down, and then he silted his chest to pull the leech out of his heart.

He said: [by taking out this leech] Satan has nothing to do with you anymore; he washed him with Zamzam [holy water from Zamzam well] in a golden basin then he retuned him to where he (pbuh) was.

The lads took him to his mother [in breast deeding] Halimeh Al-Sa'adiah saying: Muhammad was killed.

He had a pale face when they received him.

Anas said: I could see the mark of stitches on the chest of the prophet (pbuh); the other slit of the chest was on the night of the ascension.

O brothers, he was born after he could see his father and his mother died at al-Abwa'a [a place] between Mekkeh and Al-Madineh at the age of 6.

Being an orphan had affected him deeply, for he was born without a father, he lost his mother in his childhood, after that his grandfather sponsored him, but he died shortly after that so he asked his Abu Taleb to take care of him at the age of 8.

He (pbuh) was born not knowing his father, at the age of 6 his mother died then at the age of 8 his grand father died as well.

Most narrations showed the sympathy of his uncle (Abu Taleb) and how much he was attached to him (pbuh).

Abu Taleb loved him dearly so he accompanied him in his trip to Al-Sham.

Abu Taleb was poor so the prophet (pbuh) worked to help him, so he grazed his sheep and the mekkeh peoples' for nickels.

Now the characteristics of prophets in the Qura'an are:

And We never sent before you (O Muhammad pbuh) any of the Messengers but verily, they ate food and walked in the markets. And We have made some of you as a trail for others: will you have patience? And your Lord is Ever All-Seer (of everthing)

Surat Sl-Furqan Verse: 20

Consuming food is decisive evidence that their [prophets] existence is not self generated. Human beings take the energy of mobility from food and water, so they are creatures that lack food and water.

The prophet (pbuh) lacks in his continuity of his existence to food and water, so he is not God, in addition he lacks to provide the price for food and water: they ate food and walked in the markets.

Allah-exalted He is- has made needs in ourselves, such as the need of food and drink to preserve our existence; and He has made a need in men & women in order to avoid extinction, and He has made in us a need to prove our selves in a certain field, these are essential needs that push us to work;

Hadn't been for these needs, nothing would have existed on earth.

You would not have seen a mosque or a building or a bridge or agriculture or an industry or any invention or a machine nothing at all.

Allah has obliged us to work through these needs.

Now you work for making money to consume food in order to be tested; you maybe honest or a liar, fair or unfair, chaste or unchaste, faithful or unfaithful. You are being tested through work, but the profession of mankind maybe the finest kind of worship but scholars said that this profession must be by legal [in the eye of Islamic laws] mean in the first place, and your intention must be to suffice you family and your self and the ones whom you support and to serve Muslims, and it does not occupy you from performing any religious obligation or duty, then your work shall turn into a kind of worship.

It has been said: that the habits of believers are warships and the habits of hypocrites are sins, because they dissemble through them, but the habits of believers are to earn money through his profession.

I'll say it again:

profession must be by legal [in the eye of Islamic laws] mean in the first place, and your intention must be to suffice you family and your self and the ones whom you support and to serve Muslims, and it does not occupy you from performing any religious obligation or duty or seeking knowledge, then your work shall turn into a kind of worship.

However, dear brothers, the most attached things in one's life are his wife and profession.

Thus the prophet (pbuh) said:

The Holy Spirit had told me that one's life will not be taken until the completion of its provision [from God], so be pious [in your relation] with Allah and generalize in supplication.

Documented by Bin Abi Al-Dunia in Al-Kana'a and Al-Hakem from Bin Masoud.

"Make your professions to serve people"

I would like to congratulate the one whose profession goes by the order of the Lord; woe betide the one whose profession is based on the harm of people or to make them panic or to take with prohibited commodities or any behavior that contains disobedience.

If you want to know your standing [according to God] you aught to look in what you are occupied with.

I advise young men to choose a wife and a profession that please Allah to be happy in their life.

O brothers, the prophet (pbuh) lived under the care of his uncle Abi Taleb, but he was poor so the prophet (pbuh) used to help him pasturing sheep.

The prophet (pbuh) said:

All the prophets who were before me were shepherds.

One companion said: what about you?

The prophet said: Yes, I used to pasture on carats that belong to the people of Mekkeh.

Narrated by Bukhari from Abi Huraira.

Working is an honor, and to light a candle is far better than spreading darkness. The prophet (pbuh) had taught us a lot of things:

A man form Al-Ansar [People of Al-Madineh known as the supporters] asked him for money.

The prophet said: Do you have anything?

He said: I have a pot and a piece of cloth nothing more.

The prophet said: bring them.

He told his companions: who would like to buy these?

One said: I will buy them with one dirham.

The prophet (pbuh): Who pays more?

Another one said: I will buy them with two dirham.

The prophet sold the stuff and told the owner: Take the two dirham buy food for your family and buy a sharp blade with the other dirham then bring to me; the prophet (pbuh) tide the blade with his own blessed hand to a stick [to be used as an axe] he told him: now go to log and come back after 15 days.

He came back with 8 dirham, the prophet (pbuh) said: this is a lot better for you than asking people whether they give or not.

Honorable brothers, it is a very subtle fact:

Verily, God shall make a person poor if he asks [people for money]

Documented by Termithi from Abi Kabsha Al-Anmari, Muslim and Abi Dawood from Abi Huraira.

The prophet (pbuh) is the master of all creations the God's beloved one, he used to pasture sheep.

I don't think that there is a profession that is less than this one, in terms of income, simplicity and standing.

Have you ever seen a shepherd who has his business card with his address, phone number and web site in it?

Imagine! The lowest job on earth is to be shepherd that is a medal of honor for the prophet (pbuh).

Do not be ashamed of what you do as long as it is an honorable profession, do not be ashamed of what you do as long as you intend to please the Lord, do not be ashamed of job that you make your livelihood form.

But be ashamed of disobedience [of God], be ashamed of degradation [out of asking others for money] be ashamed when your hand is taking form people.

Therefore, the prophet (pbuh) saw a young man at working time reading the Qura'an.

The prophet asked him: who supports you?

He said: my brother does.

The prophet said: your brother is a better worshiper than you are.

In another occasion the prophet held the hand of Abdullah Bin Masuod –it was a rough one out of his work- he said: God and his messenger love this kind of hand.

Omar (may God be pleased with him) used to say:

"I do not respect a man who does not have a profession"

Therefore, a believer must work gracefully with distinction.

Take these words form me and keep in your mind for many reasons: if your were not distinct in your life your religion would not be respected, because it is the logic of powerful people [which is pretty much the situation nowadays]

However one may have a great standing according to the Lord, the evidence is:

One maybe unkempt and dust-covered in shabby clothe of whom doors are closed in the face, but verily, Allah will answer his prayers if he asks Him.

Documented by Muslim from Abi Huraira

But If you want to be of support of this religion you have to be distinct in your in the field that you are specialized in and in you profession.

If you are a student be the first, if you were a manufacturer then seek perfection in your job, if you were a trader be as the prophet (pbuh) describe traders, for they shall be resurrected with the prophets and pious people.

The best earnings are the one of traders who would not lie when they talk, and would break a promise or betray when entrusted, and would not devaluate [something in order to get a price reduction] when they buy, and would not speak highly of their commodity] when they sell, and they would not procrastinate if a payment is due to be paid, and would not be strict when a payment is due to be collected for them.

Narrated by Al-Hakeem from Mu'ath.

Honorable brothers, one may see pasturage as a pure, quiet and contemplating profession. If someone is at his work in a quiet place, away from the noise of the city where half naked women are- speaking of which the streets of Damascus have all kind of sins and disobediences-it is far away but it has peace of mind, so chose a job as the prophet (pbuh) said:

The best earning of a Muslim is about to be the one he makes by taking cattle of sheep to the feet of mountains and where rain falls running away with religion to avoid enticement [of women and anything that displeases the Lord and cause a major problems to people]

Narrated by Al-Bukhari from Abi Sa'id Al-khidri.

There are professions are involved with half naked women, such jobs are considered of corruption and deviation, other jobs might be rough but it is more purifying to one's soul and to be more favored by the Lord.

Therefore dear brothers, your wife and your profession are of great deal importance, because they are the most attached things to you.

The prophet (pbuh) witnessed in his young age -when he turned twenty- the establishment of Al-Fuduol Alliance, which all leaders of Quraish call upon each other to hold and to pledge that they will defend every oppressed man they find, and to return any stolen thing to its rightful owners- they are infidels, idolaters, but they wanted the enforcement of the fair law. The prophet (pbuh) said:

The best of you, in the pre-Islamic age, are the best of during the Islamic age provided that they become knowledgeable [of Islamic laws]

Narrated by Al-Bukhari from Abi Huraira

And when one of the companions converted to Islam, the prophet (pbuh) told him:

You converted to Islam with best characteristics that you had before.

Agreed upon

Thus, if you go to a western country that has an order, health security system and useful service to human beings, then you have to adapt it, do not be narrow minded.

The prophet (pbuh) witnessed Al-Fuduol Alliance, which has a story:

It says: A man from Zubaid sold a commodity to Al-A'ss Bin Weal Al-Sahmi but he procrastinated the payment, so the man from Zubaid complained about that to clan's leaders of Quriash and its allies but they paid him no attention; so he stood before Al-Ka'bah and chanted with the top of his lungs saying:

O Al-Fihr [title of a clan] an oppressed, coming out of no where, who had an unpaid commodity in the heart of Mekkeh.

A weary man who has not performed pilgrimage yet, where are the men of this town [to support him]

The protection must be to the one of whose dignity had been wasted, but not to the perfidious, the obscene and the treacherous one.

The poem touched Zubir's Bin Abed Al Mutaleb feelings when he was with prophet (pbuh), so he called- out of his gallantry- upon the leaders of Quraish; affectively, the clan of Hashem, the clan of Abed Al- Mutaleb, the clan of Assad, the clan of Zuhrra and the clan of Tamim gathered in the house of Abdulla Bin Jada'an, then alliance was established which was attended by prophet Muhammad (pbuh) prior to his mission [when he was first received revelation through Gabriel]. The prophets (pbuh) celebrated it after he was sent revelation, and from that point some scholars said:

Pay attention "This world can be reformed- this world but not the hereafter- with infidelity and justice, but it could not be reformed with faith and injustice", form that point the same scholar said:

God grants victory to a just disbelieving nation against an unjust Muslim nation; thus the path of triumph is through:

Verily, you are triumphant and provided [with, food, money and water] through your weak ones [by means of supporting the poor and the one whose earnings does not cover their basic needs]

Narrated by Abu Dawood from Abi Al-Darda'a

The weak ones must be fed when she/he hungry, must be provided with clothing when she/he does not have any, must be taught when she/he is ignorant, must be treated when she/he is sick, must be sheltered when she/he is homeless and must be supported when she/he is oppressed, in order to deserve the victory of God exalted he is.

There is point when the prophet (pbuh) attended Al-Fudoul Alliance and praised it after his mission.

Thus we ought to take the good thing from the other side. Be open minded when you meet some form the other side, there are many [good] characteristics in the western word.

Some scholars said:

"The culture of any nation is the property of all mankind, for it is more like honey that has been taken out from flowers from different kind of people along many generations.

So it does not make any sense that we boycott honey which has been taken from our flowers if we got bitten by a bunch of bees.

Some scholars asked:

What should we adapt and deny from the civilization of the west?

We should take what's in the heads and leave what leave what in their selves, we have our feelings and they have their own, and knowledge is a mutual value for all people.

When you see a positive thing in the western world then you must take it and adapt it.

There is another alliance which is called Al-Mutaiebin Alliance, it had been proven that the prophet (pbuh) mentioned that he witnessed and praised it saying:

I had witnessed Al-Mutaiebin Alliance with my uncles when I was a little boy; I would not prefer to have the most extravagant grace to infringe it.

Narrated by Bisher Bin al-Mufedul-Abed Al-Rahmman Bin Awof.

The prophet (pbuh) witnessed two alliances (Al-Fudoul, Al-Mutiebin) before his mission, and praised them after the mission.

Human beings are human beings [no matter what grace, color, country that they belong to] therefore the prophet (pbuh) said:

I was brought to complete the best of manners-noble quality of traits.

Narrated by Ahmad from Abi Huraira

We should take and strengthen our selves with any good thing form others, when we intend to boycott a hostile country, we do that to their consumption commodities, but not to their programs and scientific accomplishments, such things strengthen Muslims.

I wish that Allah –exalted He is- will allow us to continue the lesson nest week.

Praises be to Allah, and peaces from Allah be upon our master Mohammed the truth and sincere.

O respectable brothers , this is the 2nd lesson of the prophet's curriculum; a great entrance to an Islamic science, in haste; I will talk to you – In Sha'a Allah- as a second introduction about the value of this issue I'm handling for the first time in the Islamic Mission history.

I talked about the holy prophet's-PBUH- virtues , in more than 30 lessons, and his holy companions curriculum in more than 50 lesson, and the wise Khulafa' in more than 30 lesson , and the prophet's folks; his wives, daughters, and believers' mothers, and I also talked about the four Ae'mmah , but I never talked about the prophet's curriculum serially; which I intend to do in this mosque – In Sha'a Allah. But firstly we should highlight the value of this curriculum we are obliged to take from the holy prophet-PBUH.

O respectable brothers each one thinks that the prophet-PBUH- is obliged to inform and pass on the mission , but as some scholars say: as he is obliged to inform and pass the deity revelation by his tongue ; he also passed and inform his mission by his deeds and he was an example to follow; which as I think the second mission – carrying the responsibility of Islamic mission by his deeds- and it's greater than telling or informing by tongue, and it's more serious because it's more effective, as any sharp memory person can carry on the responsibility of tongue informing( preaching) ; but to reach the level of applying what you preach and to be honest and sincere when you preach people of honesty and sincerity, to be trustful when you preach for trust …is what will save us from our enemies' deception now. Regarding Islam as information, words, concept, lessons, books..; We've reached the top of it ; but regarding Islam as a behavior, straightness , trust, honesty and virtue , we're in desperate need to this side of Islam , as the other part accuses us of being terrorists, assassinators and ignorant people , they don't judge Islam from its references, they see Islam in the Muslim people they meet and encounter.

I nearly say that : the strongest Mission of Islam is the silent Mission : i.e. to consider your trust, honesty, virtue, just, humbleness …as a Mission , your whole behavior shall stands for your Islamic Mission , we're in desperate need of a walking Islamic behavior- which is presented in Muslims, Islam won't spread in any other way, as if thousand persons are preaching one is less useful than one true Muslim , whose behavior is identical to the true Islamic behavior he positively affects a thousand of persons. That's why some people said : you measure one of the holy prophet's – PBUH- companions as a thousand one.

Out master Khalid bin Al-Waleed appealed for help from the Khalifa – Abu –Baker Seddeq( he ment by help in the battle a 50 thousand soldier) ; then Abu –Baker Seddeq sent him only one man : Qa'qa'a Bin Amr , Khalid asked Qa'qa'a when he arrived : where're the supporting soldiers ? he replied : It's only I, he said : yes I , with this message , he read him the Khalifa message: O Khalid; I swear Allah that an army includes Qa'qa'a shall never be beaten.

We want to attain the level of having a Muslim's talking behavior which raises a Muslim rank of effectiveness to equal an effect of a thousand.

When you truly apply Islam in your whole life, people shall embrace Islam in groups , but if you talk about being a Muslim; when your attitude is totally adverse to Islam , people will abandon Islam in groups.

So , what we want here is to enhance Muslims to apply their religion , that's why I believe that the prophet's _PBUH- mission in deeds missionary is much more difficult that tongue preaching , this is the first truth , so we need to a walking Islamic behavior in a female sticks to the Islamic regulations , and to have this religion really applied by Muslims, that's the first point.

The second point is that the prophet's- PBUH-speeches and words are great , reported Abu-Hurairah: that the holy prophet-PBUH- said:

" I've been bestowed the eloquent words."

[Narrated Bukhari & Muslim ]

At university; we were taught that the most eloquent words ever is the Holy Qura'n , then after that comes the holy prophet's words, then after that comes the words of Imam Ali-may Allah be pleased with him; who said once :" I swear Allah ( repeated it twice) , to dig two wells using two needles- which is impossible- and sweep Hejaz's land on a stormy day with two brushes- which is also impossible- and transport two great seas using two sieves - which is also impossible- and wash two black slaves till they turn into white ones - also impossible- is easier for me from asking a miser man any thing to help me in satisfying a debt."*

this speech has a great Arabic rhyme

thus, the superior words are those of Allah- the revealed holy Qur'an, then afterwards comes the holy prophet's-PBUH – words: but the words are vulnerable to explanation, and we'll illustrate how: if a man said : O there're men of Allah if they intended to do something , Allah would intend it.

If a person thinks in this text he says: this is the source of polytheism; I say : he has a right to think in this way, whereas another man could understand this text in a different way and interpret it saying: there're some men with an acceptable Dua'a (supplication), this explanation is the source of belief, so for one text there're two completely opposed interpretations, so:

" By Nafs( Adam or a person or a soul ) and Him Who perfected him in proportion; Then He showed him what is wrong for him and what is right for him."

[Ash-Shams : 7-8]

You may understand that Allah has put wrong thing ; which is impossible , but the accurate meaning is that Allah has created it and bestowed a nature in the soul that if it makes wrong thing you'll automatically know that it does; this is nature, so there's a severe difference to think that Allah has created wrong nature in Human , and to understand that Allah- the Al-Mighty created the soul in a superior way that when making any mistake it automatically indicates its mistake, which is called now grief or depression , depression is a soul self punishment , so if a human overcomes his nature's concepts; his soul punishes him by depression.

" But whosever turns away from My Reminder( i.e. neither believes in this Qura'n nor acts on its teachings.) verily, for him is a life of hardship, and We shall raise him up blind on the Day of Resurrection."

[Ta-Ha:124]

So, the text is interpreted , for instance: Allah- the All-Mighty when sent a prophet …….., you think carefully, is it possible that Devil could reach to the holy prophet-PBUH and ……? There's another meaning , this holy prophet if he wished to guide people , the Devil wished to misguide them, this interpretation is great, so a text is exposed to several interpretations, and as the holy prophet's saying is a text then it's possible to be understood in a totally remote way from the true meaning of it. Reported Mugherah Ibn Shu'abah that he proposed to a woman , then the holy prophet-PBUH – told him :

" Look at her , it's a greater reason to marry her."

[ Narrated Tarmathy]

Some jurisprudence claimers , deducted from the holy prophet's –PBUH- sayings that a proposed man has the right to look at his fiancée as Allah has created her, no way, not any father on this earth would accept this thing, so a text is exposed to explanation ; whereas the deeds has boundaries and can't be interpreted in more than one way.

If a person talks about his view about woman's veil , we enter in dialogues, discussions , evidences and fending off evidences, proving new evidences , weakening evidences, … but how his wife goes out , Is his true opinion , so the behavior is bounded. Thus the first thing in the prophet's doctrine is the practical application of the Qura'n , and when Allah – The All-Mighty said:

" And whatsoever the Messenger (Mohammad-PBUH)gives you, take it; and whatsoever he forbids you , abstain ( from it)."

[Al-Hashr:7]

So, I believe that the holy prophet's behavior expresses his understanding to Allah's book ( Qur'an) better than his words do; as the words is vulnerable to interpretation ; whereas his behavior –PBUH- is bounded and can afford only one interpretation. And if you intend to be a Islamic missionary read this holy verse :

" And who is better in speech than he who [says: "My Lord is Allah ( believes in His Oneness )" and then stands firm ( acts upon His Order ), and] invites (men) to Allah's (Islamic Monotheism), and does righteous deeds, and says:" I am one of the Muslims."

[ Fussilat :33]

Thus, according to the holy Qura'n, there's not on the whole earth better than

" than he who [says: "My Lord is Allah ( believes in His Oneness )" and then stands firm ( acts upon His Order ), and] invites (men) to Allah's (Islamic Monotheism), and does righteous deeds, and says:" I am one of the Muslims."

but I said once during a conference in Cairo: the only deed that fluctuates between two ranks; either to be the greatest deed ever, or the most worthless deed ever is the missionary ; as it's the holiest deed if you make every effort , and afford your utmost ;and in turns to be the worst; worthless deed if you consider it as a means of living, thus, when Imam Shafe'ie – may Allah's Mercy be upon him- : " I swear Allah that earn my living by dancing is much more easier than earning it by religion ( missionary) ; so it may be the best and holiest deed and you rise to the holy prophet's deeds, or be the worst, most insignificant and worthless deed.

Hence: the first point: the prophet's doctrine is his practical understanding for the holy Qura'n, the universe is a silent Qura'n ,the holy Qura'n is a talking universe, and the holy prophet- PBUH- is a walking Qura'n; and we are in a desperate need to a walking Muslim , a holy Hadeeth of the prophet Mohammed-PBUH- was Narrated in Bukhari:

" It's I who first holds the Heaven's rings; when a women is struggling me intends to enter the Heaven before I do – Is it possible?- so I said : O Jibreal ( Jabreal) who's this woman? : Jibreal replied : this is a woman whose husband died ( a widow woman) and left with her their children , so she refused to get married in order to bring them up."

This woman who raises her children struggles with the prophet to enter the Heaven before he does, so a human being is arose by his deed, and he is exalted by his straightness and good deeds, whereas words shall do nothing important as just words.

" And the righteous deeds exalt it (i.e the goodly words are not accepted by Allah unless and until they are followed by good deeds."

[ Fater:10]

"Similarly( to complete My Blessings on you) , We have sent among you a Messenger ( Mohammad-PBUH) of your own"

[Al-Baqarah:151]

of your own Means that, unless the holy prophet-PBUH- was a human being , with all human beings features; he would never be the Master of the Human beings.

"Similarly( to complete My Blessings on you) , We have sent among you a Messenger ( Mohammad-PBUH) of your own, reciting to you Our Verses ( the Qur'an) and purifying you , and teaching you the book( the Qura'n)and the Hikmah( i.e. Sunnah, Islamic laws and Fiqh jurisprudence) , and teaching you that which you used not to know."

[Al-Baqarah:151]

So take a insider look at this , the prophet's –PBUH- first mission is : to reciting to you Our Verses ( the Qur'an), you may ask : what is the meaning of the word" Our Verses " ? I answer your question : our cosmetic verses, should not any think that verses is the Holy Qura'n , then reciting to you Our Verses ( the Qur'an) and purifying you , and teaching you the book( the Qura'n) the book differs from verses, so if you intend to acquire Allah then meditate in the creation of the heavens and earth, that's one, then

" and purifying you "

" Indeed he succeeds who purifies his ownself(i.e. obeys and performs all that Allah ordered , by following the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism and by doing righteous good deeds). And indeed he fails who corrupts his ownself ( disobeys what Allah has ordered by rejecting the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism and by following polytheism and by committing every kind of sin."

[ Ash-Shams:9-10]

The greatest success and the greatest win ,the greatest prosperity, the greatest intellect , and the greatest prudence is to …… your soul , why ? as Allah said:

" The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail, Except him who brings to Allah a clean heart (clean from Shirk( polytheism ) and Nifaq(hypocrisy)."

[ Ash-Shua'ra: 88-89]

The meaning of a clean heart the most important verse in the holy Qura'n : " The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail" for example : Bil Gits owns 93 Milliard $ , " The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail who's 20 sons are doctors " The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail, Except him who brings to Allah a clean heart (clean from Shirk( polytheism ) and Nifaq(hypocrisy)." , they said : a clean heart is the heart which doesn't have any desire opposes Allah's approval, and it's the heart which doesn't worship but Allah , and doesn't seek a decision from any source other than Allah's Sharia'a; there're many Muslim women living in the Western World- who seek a decision of a Western court once they differ with their husbands in order to take half his properties, and she won't satisfy by the religious rule which gives her dower. Thus, the clean heart doesn't fancy a desire disapproves with Allah , neither does he seek decision from any other but Allah's religion, nor he worships other than Allah , and it doesn't believe any information contradicts Allah's revelation, so if you read any article in a magazine says that there's a medicine prolongs life and you believe it , you then believed what contradicts the revelation of Allah :

"When their term comes , neither can they delay it nor can they advance it an hour ( or a moment)."

[Al-A'raf : 34]

 So , the core of the holy prophet's –PBUH- missionary is meditation in heavens and earth let's talk about the astronomy and the orbits; the solar group utmost distance is 13 hours, and the least distance is for the moon 1 second, the sun 8 minutes, now I want the second longest distance , the closest burning star to the earth other than the solar system , a star's distance from the earth 4 light years, the calculation is very easy, light runs 300 thousand km/second, multiply by 60 – to get the time taken in a minute, then multiply by 60 to get the time taken in an hour , multiply by 24 to get the time taken in a day, multiply by 365, to get the time taken in a year , multiply by 4 to get the time taken in 4 years 37843200000000;

If we imagine that this star has a paved way and I have a vehicle speed 100km/hr , if I divided this number by 100, the result is the number of hours my journey to this star would take, so I need 43200000 years, if I say 4 light years means 43200000 years , now when shall I reach the pole star which is the second closest distance after the solar system ?

What about the farthest star groups and Galaxies?

 Allah's said :

"So, I swear by the setting of the stars, and verily that is indeed a great oath, if you but know."

[ Al-Waqi'ah: 75-76]

 Thus,

"It is only those who have knowledge among His slaves that fear Allah ."

[ Fatir:28]

So only divine scholars and no one else that fear Allah , so if you wanted to gain this worldly living then go for learning, and if you intend to gain the other living then go for learning , if you want them both then go for learning, and you must know that science and knowledge shall not give you some of it unless you gave all of you to learning , if you gave some of you to learning it won't give you anything, a person is still a scholar as long as he's learning , once he thinks he has learnt , then he has become an ignorant, so I like the humbleness in some divine scholars ; who describes himself as a student.

So, respectable brothers; the holy prophet's –PBUH- missionary is to recite Allah's verses:

" By the sun and its brightness. By the moon as it follows it ( the sun)"

[ Ash-Shams : 1-2]

" By the dawn,; By the ten nights( i.e. the first ten days of the month of Dhul-Hijja). And by the night when it departs."

[Al-Fajr :1-3]

"When the sun is wound round and its light is lost and is overthrown. And when the stars fall."

[At-Taqweer:2]

"What are they asking ( one another) about? About the great news , (i.e. Islamic Monotheism the Qur'an , which prophet Mohammed-PBUH brought and the Day of Resurrection."

[An-Naba'a:1-2]

"reciting to you Our Verses ( the Qur'an) and purifying you , and teaching you the book( the Qura'n)and the Hikmah "

The book is the Holy Qura'n , and the Hikmah is the Sunnah, where there's a meditation and a connection with Allah , and knowledge of the meaning of the Holy Qura'n ; as Sunnah is the explanation of the holy Qura'n.

"reciting to you Our Verses ( the Qur'an) and purifying you , and teaching you the book( the Qura'n)and the Hikmah "

But to explain the last paragraph of the verse

" and teaching you that which you used not to know."

let me mention this example :

If a young child when was called by one of his relatives , told him : I have a great amount of money , as his uncle how much you evaluate the amount of money he has? Maybe a hundred or two hundred liras; whereas when a senior official in the pentagon says: we've gathered a great amount of money for Iraq, how much would be this amount 200 milliard $ , thus now take care of what I'm going to mention , the big surprise is that when Allah-The All-Mighty – said- and He is the King of kings , and the owner of kings:

"And taught you that which you knew not. And ever Great is the Grace of Allah unto you ( O Mohammed –PBUH)."

[An-Nisa': 113]

So the greatest bestow ever is to acquire Allah "And taught you that which you knew not. And ever Great is the Grace of Allah unto you ( O Mohammed –PBUH)."

so the concept of the holy prophet-PBUH mission is to meditate in heavens and earth ,to connect to Allah and purity of sins.

By the way, there's a mentioned verse in the holy Qura'n is very likely to be a mathematical equation :

" And by the Mercy of Allah , you dealt with them gently."

[ Al-Imran: 159]

The meaning is as a reason of a mercy settled deep in your heart (O Mohammad) you became flexible and tender with them, thus they gathered around you and loved you , and they redeem you by their selves, their souls ,and their properties.

" And had you been severe and harsh-hearted, they would have broken away from about you."

[ Al-Imran: 159]

Unless you were connected to us ; your heart would be filled by cruelty , and when a heart if filled by cruelty , harshness also filled it, and when it's full of harshness people shall leave you out.

So the equation is : a connection + mercy + tenderness = gathering

 Disconnection + cruelty +harshness =leaving out.

Do you like people gathering around you? If you were a father do you like to fell that when you come back to home , your entrance to be like a festival? Some fathers creates this feeling in their houses; whereas other fathers when they goes out , a festival occurs at home, if you are merciful your family and kind to them they shall gather around you.

To illustrate this fact : an old man once was sick , that when the doctor examined him and told his sons it was just a nonessential case, they said: How , we wish it to be a fatal sickness, this is the accurate balance, do you notice that when you're back to your house that your children gather around you or they just enter their rooms, so a connection to Allah , mercy and tenderness result in gathering; on the other hand disconnection to Allah, cruelty and harshness result in leaving out.

Another thing , could you ever positively response to me if I ordered you to love a certain person to love him? Is love a willful deed? It's involuntary, so Why did the holy prophet –PBUH- said :

" a Muslim is not a true believer till I became more lovable to him than his children, his parents and every other human."

[ Narrated : Bukhari & Muslim]

This Hadeeth assures that you should love the holy prophet, and as we know that love is involuntary thing, so what shall we do ? some scholars said: when you read the holy prophet's – PBUH- curriculum not just his sayings, when you read about his humbleness and how he – the army leader, and the master of prophets and messengers; the nation's leader put himself equal to the junior soldier in the battle:

 Reported Abullah Bin Masu'ood :

" We were on the Bader battle each three rotating a camel; Abu Lubabah and Ali bin Abi Talib were the colleagues of the holy prophet –PBUH, and it was the turn of the holy prophet to go down the camel when they said: O we want to walk instead of you , he replied : neither you are stronger than I , nor I'm opulent of reward than you."

[ Narrated : Ahmed]

He rode the she-camel, and when it's his turn to get down of it and walk , his companions begged him to stay up the she-camel riding it so he replied: neither you are stronger than I- he-PBUH was strong , nor I'm opulent of reward than you.'

Don't you like this humbleness; the master of the creatures walks while his companions ride the she-camel? He was on a travel with his companions , when they wanted to slaughter a sheep , so one of them said: it's I who will slaughter it, another one said: I will take off its skin, the third one said: I'll cook it, then the holy prophet –PBUH- said : and I will gather firewood- is it possible?- they said : O Allah's messenger , we shall do this part for you; he replied : I know that , but Allah hates to see one of his slaves districts himself from his mates.

A Bedouin came to ask the prophet-PBUH- about some thing so he entered the mosque asking : Who among you is Mohammed? Which means there's no a certain chair or sofa the holy prophet used to set on , other narration the companions replied : that man with the shining face . so don't you like this humbleness?

 Reported Ibn Masoud :

" A man came to speak to the holy prophet –PBUH , and while he was speaking to the prophet he was trembling; the prophet noticed that and told him: easy man, I'm not a king, verily my mother was used to eating dried meat."

[ Narrated : Ibn Majah]

A Bedouin told him- in a rude way : O Mohammed judge with fair; reported Abi –sa'eed Al-Khuy –may Allah be pleased with him- :

" We were sitting by Allah's Messenger –PBUH- as he was dividing a division when Tho-Al-Khuwaiserah- a man from Bano Tameem- came and said : O Mohammed judge with fair, the holy prophet replied : Woe unto you , who shall judge with fair if I don't judge with fair?, you would have been lost if I was not judging with fair…"

[ Narrated : Bukhari & Muslim]

" Verily, there has come unto you a Messenger ( Mohammed –PBUH) from amongst yourselves( i.e. whom you know well). It grieves him that you should receive any injury or difficulty. He ( Mohammed –PBUH) is anxious over you ( to be rightly guided, to repent to Allah, and beg Him to pardon and forgive your sins in order that you may enter Paradise and be saved from the punishment of the Hell-fire); for the believers( he –PBUH –is )full of pity, kind and merciful."

[At-Taubah:128]

Now, How to love the prophet-PBUH-? You must read him curriculum, but the disaster is that youth take a football player, an actor or actress as their example, whereas the truth believer's heart is full by the prophet's-PBUH- humbleness, courage, truth, honesty, … so if you're asked and ordered to love him , and you're ordered to make him more lovable than yourself, your money(estate) , your children and any other human ; you must read his curriculum.

Just before his death; he-PBUH- stepped on the platform and said :

" Who ever I whipped his back , then this is my back and he is to take his right back ( i.e. to whip me) , and whoever I took a property or an estate( any money ) of him , then this is my money and he is to take from it, and whoever I insulted his honor , then this is my honor; and he shall not be afraid of enmity; it's none of my business neither is of my nature."

[ History of Tabari, reported Fadl Bin Abbass]

Don't you feel as you dissolve in this holy prophet's love? You feel his love when you study his life, his humbleness, trust, honesty.. this curriculum is the key of his love; which is an obligation upon every Muslim, and we'll not survive unless we love him , as in each of us living three personality ; one is what we wish to be; which expresses your trend another is what we hate to be, the third one is our personality( reality),

if you were a worldly person you like the worldly celebrities, if you were a man related to money you extremely like wealthy people, if you were indulged in desires; you like cheap desires; if you were a man of position, you like senior positions , and if you were a believer ; you love the holy prophet-PBUH and you wish to follow him and take him as your example.

O brothers , there're two happy miens , the first one : Allah says:

" And Allah would not punish them while you ( Mohammed –PBUH) are amongst them, "

[Al-Anfal:33]

There seems to be a problem in this verse , the meaning is very obvious while the holy prophet-PBUH- is living amongst his companions; but what happens when his soul transfers to her Creator ( Allah) – i.e. when he died- the scholars said : " And Allah would not punish them while you ( Mohammed –PBUH) are amongst them, "means that when your Sunnah ( O Mohammed) id applied in their lives, at their houses, regarding their women's veil , in their earning , money spending, in their happy times and sad times, in their accommodations and travels , during their time of peace and war , when their living is easy and during their hard times.

" And Allah would not punish them while you ( Mohammed –PBUH) are amongst them, nor will He punish them while they seek ( Allah's) Forgiveness."

[Al-Anfal:33]

You have two affluences , one is to apply the Sunnah, the other is to repent to Allah, but if you neither apply nor repent then you're at danger. So; by learning the prophet's –PBUH- curriculum you like him , and I'm telling you : tell me whom you love; I tell you who you are.

Thus , scholars said : there is a love in the Cause of Allah – it's the origin of monotheism and there's a love with Allah – it's the origin of polytheism- ; to illustrate; the first one : the love in the Cause of Allah; its origin is to love Allah; its first branch to love his prophet-PBUH- the second branch is to love all of his companions without any exclusion – the third branch is to love his companions' followers , to love the believers, to love Allah's obedience, His mosques, His book, to love any deed would connect you to Allah; this is the love in the Cause of Allah, whereas the love with Allah is to love a party; whose love is not useful to you, rather it takes you away from Allah , and this love is the origin of polytheism, so : tell me whom you love; I tell you who you are. And tell me is your love I the Cause of Allah or with Allah.

There's another thing ; we're still introducing for the prophet's - PBUH- doctrine the other thing is always a mocking path, the dreaming idealism , something which is inapplicable , some Greek philosophies drew the Utopia; a non existence thing and we have the abhorrent reality, an unbearable reality, you may feel depressed when read a novel for a recent author, he makes you feel the human degeneration, inferiority, hypocrisy, cruelty and deviation.

By the way, meetings are scented when righteous people are mentioned, whereas meetings are disturbed when miser people are mentioned ; without even realizing this, if you were sitting in your home with your friends , and the conversation goes about miser people , deviated hypocrites , after a while you feel uncomfortable, this profligate person you were talking about caused you depression; but when you narrate about a companion of the prophet-PBUH- or a companion's follower , or a humble scholar, you feel a zest and a soul extension, that's the great thing in the prophet's curriculum – is that it's a total reality , not only a reality, it's idealist reality, a supreme applied example , or the applicant ( the holy prophet) is a supreme example ; that's what people need nowadays , people now reject the dreaming idealism, and they also reject the abhorrent reality ; they even detest the abhorrent reality, and mock on the dreaming idealism; that's why Allah has said :

" Indeed in their stories, there is a lesson for men of understanding."

[Yusuf: 111]

There're many art in the literature, poets, story, and now; plays, articles, the c.v. and many other things, the majority of authors think that the story is the closest literature art to a soul, an evidence of this; is when you take your son with you to Friday preach , and the preach lasted for an hour and it contained deep thoughts, and accurate presentation, analysis, evidences, holy verses from the Qura'n and Hadeeth and also a story was told, if you asked your son about what the preacher said, he will only remember the story, a story's heroes are people and it has events, series, and a plot, a starting, a knot and an ending, but alas, the modern story agitates people's low desires and instincts, it also agitates the materialistic and the instinctual part of human being ,it can easily cause a whole community degeneration , but when you read a story ; which impact is a lift in your superior feeling and your high intellect ; then it's a piece of truly great art; thus I urge and advice parents and teachers to provide their children and pupils with the holy companions' stories; these stories must be written in a clear literature style; so the best thing to affect a human being is a great concept as well as a decorated style ; thus a story is the easiest way of missionary.

By the way, we teach in our schools, language, grammar, dictation, rhetoric and prosody; each of which is very boring, there's a strange way to teach a language based on a story, we teach the pupil its vocabulary ; hence we covered the linguistic part, we teach them letters' forms, and the position of each word to determine the grammar , we also teach them words structure; adjectives, noun, verb…, then we teach them the forms of rhetoric… so when the story core is interesting ; we're then able to teach every thing via this story, thus the easiest, most interesting and shortest way to teach this religion is to : narrate the holy prophet's curriculum; from which we're taught the legitimate rules, prophet's behavior , heroism situations, and what we should be, thus the story has the first rank. So I suggest – just as some countries do- to put the prophet's –PBUH- curriculum and the curriculum of his companions a complete session at school studying ; and you can entirely learn the Islam from the prophet's curriculum. Besides , it can be the key of loving the holy prophet , and it also can be the practical example for each believer's searching for the truth.

 I told you before : Allah-The All-Mighty; when said :

" And all that We relate to you (O Mohammad -PBUH) of the news of the Messengers is in order that we may make strong and firm your heart thereby.

[Hud:120]

" O you who believe ! Obey Allah and obey the Messenger (Mohammad -PBUH), and those of you ( Muslims) who are in authority."

[An-Nisa':59]

"and obey the Messenger (Mohammad -PBUH), and those of you ( Muslims) who are in authority" , means that you should never obey a creature in an offense of the Creator, the obedience of those whop are in authority is related to being harmonics with the prophet's obedience-PBUH, but He didn't say obey Allah and His Messenger, He rather said :

Obey Allah and obey the Messenger (Mohammad -PBUH); which means that the Messenger-PBUH is himself legislator , and Islamic legitimate has two sources; the holy book of Allah( Qura'n) and His Messenger's Sunnah; thus the prophet's saying is a legislation; that's why Allah has said:

"Nor does he speak of (his own ) desire. It is only a Revelation Revealed."

[An-Najm:3-4]

So, when you read a prophet's –PBUH-saying, you should know that it's truth revealed by Allah , the evidence is this saying : A prophet's-PBUH companion said : " There are three situations at which I'm a distinct man…" Man means here a hero according to the Holy Qura'n and the Sunnah, as it was mentioned in the Holy Qura'n:

" Men whom neither trade nor sale (business) diverts from the remembrance of Allah ( with heart and tongues)"

[An-Nur:37]

" Men who have been true to their covenant with Allah."

[Al-Ahzab:23]

Now , back to the companion's saying : " There are three situations at which I'm a distinct man, and in other situations I'm a man among people" what is the sign of the heroism of our master ( Sa'ad)? : "I didn't hear any saying of the holy prophet-PBUH but I know it's truth revealed by Allah, and I didn't perform any prayer( Muslim's Salat) and made myself busy by any other thing till I finish it, and I didn't follow a funeral and had a self-talk else than what they say( during it) till I leave it."

So, when you hear the Authentic prophet's Hadeeth , you must believe that it's truth revealed by Allah, and that the holy prophet-PBUH- does not speak of (his own ) desire , It is only a Revelation Revealed.

Thus, every house must contain tapes, or books about the Curriculum of the holy prophet-PBUH, and his Hadeeth; the Holy Qura'n explanation , don't make graves of your houses .

One thing remained; the holy prophet's-PBUH curriculum is a part of the Islamic history, so when you read his curriculum you read the history , and I'll narrate you a paragraph of his curriculum shows that most of the problems his companions used to suffer are the same problems we suffer nowadays!:

When Uday Bin Hatem met the Holy prophet- PBUH; the holy prophet asked him : Who are you, he replied : Uday Bin Hatem- the prophet was very polite and Uday was a king; Uday said to him self: I thought I would meet a king ; but when I met Allah's Messenger he accompanied me to his home; there in the road a woman stopped the holy prophet so he stopped and talked to him about her need for a long time ; another time Uday said to him self: that's not how kings behave, when we reached his home he presented me a leather cushion stuffed by fiber saying: set on this, now Uday said to him self: I knew he ( the prophet ) was a prophet and a messenger; so he knows what other people don't know, the prophet –PBUH said: O Uday Bin Hatem tell me , weren't you a Rekousy? – a religion between Judaism and Christianity- he replied : O yes, the prophet asked him again : didn't you deal with your people in a way that you take one fourth of their income? he replied : O yes, the prophet said : this was not permitted in your religion, Uday said to him self: I know then he was a prophet and a messenger; so he knows what other people don't know, the holy prophet-PBUH then added : O Uday maybe what you see of Muslims poverty prevents you from embracing Islam- and the Islamic world now suffers from poverty , on the contrary the Western world is nearly about to explode from money ; is it possible that a small drawing is sold for 50 million $ , which seems to equal a 100 Lira according to us, they robbed nations' wealth, and control the whole world , they take every rue material in replacement for the US $, they keep printing this banknote and buy every thing using it, they're terribly in great debt – back to Uday story : O Uday maybe what you see of Muslims poverty prevents you from embracing Islam, I swear Allah that money will be extremely abundance ; till there's no one to take it, and O Uday maybe what you see of Muslims situation that rulers and kings are not among Muslims prevents you from embracing Islam ; -Allah –The All-Mighty – has affairs with his creatures; sometimes the infidel is very powerful and strong; does what he wants; kills, bombs, destructs houses , controls the media and the wealth, and the rest of the world support him , and Muslims are too weak. Back now to Uday's story : and O Uday maybe what you see of Muslims situation that rulers and kings are not among Muslims prevents you from embracing Islam; I swear Allah that you'll hear their victory against Babel's Palaces , and O Uday maybe what you see of Muslims having lots of enemies prevents you from embracing Islam – now the whole world is fighting Islam - I swear Allah that you'll soon hear that the Babelian woman goes to perform pilgrimage - Hajj- riding her camel without fear, and Uday Bin Hatem lived till he sees all what he was informed by the holy prophet-PBUH.

The greatest fear of mine is to be self defeated, or to be frustrated:

"So do not become weak (against your enemy), nor be sad, and you will be superior (in victory) if you are indeed (true) believers."

[Al-Imran: 139]

This hard times ; we –Muslims-face I call it the intense care , as there's still a rest of good thing in us, which caused us put in the intense care , for example the patient diagnosed by a malicious tumor spread in his whole body; when asking the doctor what to eat : he'll reply : eat whatever you want; whereas if a person is diagnosed with stomach ulcer ; and his cure is guaranteed but he needs first a very strict diet, he's given a 1000 instruction as there's still a hope in his cure. Hence, "Allah has revealed to this worldly life : O be severe and harsh and tough against Auliya of Mine( those who believe in the Oneness of Allah and fear Allah Much) till they looking forward to meeting Me and love my meeting, I swear by My Grace and Mighty- I don't sent My believer slave to death – when I like to reveal My Mercy upon him till I sent him terrible , sickness to his body, hard living, a disaster in his properties, children or folks; as a dual to each sin he's committed ; then if there're still some committed sins I made his death to hard ( taking off his soul) till he meets Me without sins ( just as the day of his birth)."

So, I'll continue these lessons In Sha'a Allah, and we shall conclude lessons and examples, and a vision in order to help us solve our problems from every single situation of the holy prophet-PBUH.

Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, and peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Mohammad the truthful in promise and the worthy of all trust, and upon his Family and Companions.
O Allah, deliver us from the darkness of ignorance and delusions into the light of knowledge and science, and from the mire of lust into the Eden of good deeds.

Honorable brothers, this is the third lesson in the series dealing with the significance of the Prophet’s biography. I explained in the first two lessons the importance of this biography within the Islamic sciences.
Dear brothers, in this lesson we explore the Prophet’s social context before the Revelation, or the historical dimension as termed in historical studies.

First: Holy Mecca is an uncultivated valley.

﴾ O our Lord! I have made some of my offspring to dwell in a valley without cultivation, by Thy Sacred House; in order, O our Lord, that they may establish regular Prayer ﴿

(Surat Ibrahim, Aya 37)

Sometimes all your worldly desires are fulfilled only to remove you farther from the purpose of your existence. This is a fact: worldly prosperity can become a veil between man and his Lord. Many countries enjoy great opulence, unequaled beauty and sensual pleasures. Yet this great prosperity, the stunning beauty, the exaggerated freedom have become a veil between men and their Creator. Other countries may suffer troubles, hardships, and poverty, yet the people are deeply devoted and strongly attached to religion.
So there is a relationship between the abundance of sensual pleasures and the intensity of spiritual activity, when Allah Almighty says:

﴾ O our Lord! I have made some of my offspring to dwell in a valley without cultivation, by Thy Sacred House; in order, O our Lord, that they may establish regular Prayer ﴿

So He may give you in order to deny you, and he may deny you in order to give you, for denial can be the essence of giving.

﴾ and it may be that you dislike a thing while it is good for you, and it may be that you love a thing while it is evil for you, and Allah knows, while you do not know ﴿

(Surat Al Baqara 216)

This worldly existence, dear brothers, is nothing compared to the Hereafter.

‘This life compares to the Hereafter like the seawater on a needle compares to the sea it was dipped in’

(Al Tabarani in the Kabir, from the Mustawrad, Souyouti’s ranking: acceptable)

What quantity of water will you get from such needle?

So lesson number one is: if you live in a country, below your expectations, but you are close to Allah Almighty, then you are the big winner. And if you live in a country, be it like paradise on earth, and this paradise on earth stands between you and Allah, and distracts you from the Hereafter then you are the looser. So wherever Allah destined you to be, accept His decree, the Divine wisdom will soon be unveiled, for everything that happens is willed by Allah, and everything that Allah wills comes into being.
Allah Almighty reminds Quraish of His favors when He says in His Holy Book:

﴾ For the covenants by the Quraish, Their covenants (covering) journeys by winter and summer, Let them adore the Lord of this House, Who provides them with food against hunger, and with security against fear ﴿

(Surat Quraish)

The exegetes commented: the greatest blessing that Allah bestows on his worshippers is sustenance and security,

﴾ Who provides them with food against hunger, and with security against fear ﴿

﴾ Allah sets forth a Parable: a city enjoying security and quiet, abundantly supplied with sustenance from every place: Yet was it ungrateful for the favours of Allah: so Allah made it taste of hunger and terror (in extremes) (closing in on it) like a garment (from every side), because of the (evil) which (its people) wrought﴿

(Surat Al Nahl 112)

When you are one of those mentioned in the Tradition,

‘Whoever wakes secure in his flock, sound of body, having his daily sustenance, it is as though he possessed the whole world’

(compiled by Bukhari in the Adab, and by Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah, narrated by Abdalla Ibn Mohsen),

by ‘secure in his flock’ I mean the security that faith provides, when you believe, you feel you are at the heart of Allah’s Mercy, of His Consent, His Protection, His Support, His Guidance, His Patronage… For when Allah is with you no one can be against you, and when He is against you no one can be with you. This is a specific attendance which scholars described as attendance of assistance, support, guidance and protection.

﴾ Allah is with the believers﴿

(Surat Al Anfal, 19)

﴾ Allah is with those who restrain themselves. ﴿

(Surat Al Baqara, 194)

﴾ Faint not nor grieve, for ye will overcome them if ye are (indeed) believers ﴿

(Surat Al Amraan, 139)

Dear brothers, the Prophet’s environment before the Revelation knew some forms of noble conduct, like bravery, sense of honor and generosity. This is why the Prophet, peace be upon him said:

‘I was sent as a teacher’

(Compiled by Ibn Majah from the narration of Abdalla Ibn Amr with a weak link)

‘I was sent to take noble ethics to perfection’

(Compiled by Al Hakem and Al Baihaqi from Abu Huraira)

‘The best among you before the advent of Islam are still the best after they became Muslims’

(Compiled by Bukhari, narrated by Abu Houraira)

And the Prophet explained to his companions:

‘You became a Muslim because of the good you did before Islam’

(Agreed upon)

This confirms that values like courage, generosity and sense of honor existed before the revelation. Antara used to say:

I look away if I see my (lady) neighbor until my neighbor’s home hides her away

(Poetry)

***

Is this not courtesy? This is why the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

‘I was sent to take noble conduct to perfection’

From all this we conclude that people who are righteous before they believe, before they find their way to Allah, because they are righteous, Allah Almighty takes them into his protection. Allah says:

﴾ He befriends the righteous﴿

(Surat Al Aaraf, 196)

And I in turn say, and this is an inference, especially that I address the young among you: if you are a young believer, righteous, continent, truthful, honest, then trust that Allah will provide, for Allah Almighty says:

﴾ Or do those who commit ill-deeds suppose that We shall make them as those who believe and do good works, the same in life and death? Bad is their judgment ﴿

(Al Jathia, 21)

So the noble ethics of the period prior to the Revelation was approved and adopted by Islam as inferred from the Prophetic traditions:

‘Truly I was sent to teach’

And

‘I was sent to take noble ethics to perfection’.

The tribe of Quraish was the crown jewel of the Arabic Peninsula, and leader of the Arabs.
This leads us to the question of lineage.
First: Lineage is a crown on the head of the faithful. The Prophet, peace and prayers be upon him described our Master Joseph as

‘the noble son of a noble, son of a noble, son of a noble, Joseph son of Jacob son of Isaac son of Abraham’.

(Compiled by Ahmad in his Musnad narrated by Abu Huraira, and Bukhari in the Sahih narrated by Ibn Omar),

 But Allah Almighty says:

﴾ The power of Abu Lahab will perish, and he will perish. His wealth and gains will not exempt him. He will be plunged in flaming Fire, And his wife, the wood-carrier, Will have upon her neck a halter of palm-fibre. ﴿

(Surat Al Masad)

Yet Abu Lahab is the uncle of the Prophet.
This is to say: when there’s no faith, lineage looses its value, and with faith, lineage becomes a subject of honor for the faithful:

‘O Fatima daughter of Mohammad spare yourself hellfire, for I hold for you neither benefit nor harm’

(Compiled by Muslim)

‘Do not bring me your lineages while people bring me their deeds’.

‘If your deeds slow you up, your lineage will not move you any faster’.

(Narrated by Abu Al Rudain from the Prophet)

The Prophet peace and prayers be upon him, once entered a mosque and saw people sitting in a circle around a man. He asked, though he knew:

‘Who is this man?’

They said: ‘a genealogist’. He said:

‘And what is a genealogist?’

They said: ‘He knows the ancestries of the Arabs’. He said:

‘Here is a science that does not benefit those who learn it, and that does not hurt those who do not know it’.

This meaning can be found in some of the supplications of the Prophet, peace and prayers be upon him:

‘O Allah, I seek Your protection against a heart that is not humble, and knowledge that is not useful, and a prayer that is not answered, and a nature which cannot be satisfied, I seek your protection against those four’.

(Reported by Ibn Omar from Jaber, and Abu Huraira and Ibn Mas’ud, this is an ‘acceptable-authentic’ tradition)

Dear brothers, there is a comment I should make: because life is short, time is fixed, and the passing days rush us closer to our fate …. we must be selective.
How? You are sitting in your library, the four walls lined up with books, and you have a decisive exam in two days time. Can you allow yourself to read a sermon during these two days? Of course not, you will be reading your textbook … for it would take you two hundred years to read the books published in a single language worldwide.
In the same manner, you should be selective and choose a book that profits you in this life and in the Hereafter, a friend whose behavior inspires you to seek Allah, and whose words guide you to Allah, choose a place where you feel closer to Allah Almighty. As for those who act according to their desires, meeting whoever they wish, reading any book they want, those who do not discriminate, those are the befooled on Judgment Day.
So lineage is the believer’s crown, but where there’s no faith, lineage no longer has a value:

Never say: my lineage and my offspring Man’s value is in what he achieved

(Poetry)

***

Now what did Quraish worship before the Revelation? Allah, Exalted is He, says:

﴾ They worship beside Allah that which neither hurteth them nor profiteth them, and they say: These are our intercessors with Allah﴿

(Surat Yunus, 18)

In another tribe, a man went to worship the idol and found that a fox had urinated on its head, so he said:

A god whose head foxes pee on? Vain is the god that foxes can pee on.

(Poetry)

***

The Arabs used to worship idols instead of Allah, and professed that idols brought them nearer to Allah. For not using their minds, they lost the Hereafter.

Dear brothers, incidentally, in many countries East and West, people worship various deities instead of Allah. In some Asian countries the cow is worshiped. If it enters a market and eats of the most exquisite and expensive fruits, the owner of the place will be overwhelmed with joy, because the god entered his store and ate of his fruit. The cow’s dung is sometimes ornaments furniture in guest rooms during feasts, for it is a produce of their deity … where are their minds? There are other people in Asia who worship rats. I have a magazine with a picture of their temple, with thousands of rats which they serve the most precious foods, adoring them instead of Allah … where are their minds?
And in those very far lands to the east that have reached the highest levels of industrial success, some people worship the phallus, as a dear friend who visited their temple told me. There are also people that worship stones, the sun and the moon, the waves of the sea, all this because of the weakness of the human mind. So thank Allah Almighty that we got to know the true God who has power over everything:

﴾ They worship beside Allah that which neither hurteth them nor profiteth them, and they say: These are our intercessors with Allah﴿

Then this idolatry became so deep-rooted that they said:

﴾ Do you really bear witness that there are other gods with Allah?﴿

(Surat Al Anaam, 19)

Dear brothers, one of the weirdest things I read a few months ago, is that a newspaper in a neighboring country published an article where the writer claims that the gods of Quraish were democratic because they accepted disagreement, while Mohammad’s god was totalitarian and repressive because he refused to share his divinity with other gods.  Isn’t this the very ignorance of pre-Islamic paganism?
 When Allah Almighty says:

﴾ and make not a dazzling display, like that of the former Times of Ignorance?﴿

(Surat Al Ahzab, 33)

Could He have meant that there will be a second period of ignorance? Indeed.

On the other hand, Quraish had laws unwarranted by Allah, Allah Almighty says:

﴾ But say not - for any false thing that your tongues may put forth,- "This is lawful, and this is forbidden," so as to ascribe false things to Allah﴿

(Al Nahl, 116)

This is why wrongdoings are ranked in increasing degree of odiousness: Allah mentions: shameful and shocking deeds, sins and transgressions, polytheism and atheism, and then the greatest offense of all:

﴾ and that ye should say of Allah that of which ye have no knowledge ﴿

(Al Baqara, 169)

They shared among themselves silly, risible beliefs.
Concerning creed, they professed that Allah Almighty was not one, but had associates, they did not believe in His names and attributes, they gave the angels girl names and claimed they were Allah’s daughters, they believed that the Jinn were partners of Allah, they did not believe in Predestination. Allah tells us that they said:

﴾ Those who give partners (to Allah) will say: "If Allah had wished, we should not have given partners to Him nor would our fathers; nor should we have had any taboos ."So did their ancestors argue falsely, until they tasted of Our wrath. Say: "Have ye any (certain) knowledge? If so, produce it before us. Ye follow nothing but conjecture: ye do nothing but lie ﴿

(Surat Al Anaam, 148)

They denied Judgment Day, Resurrection, the Hereafter, accountability, heaven and hell, even though they believed in the divine nature of their gods.
So they did not believe in Resurrection, they claimed angels are Allah’s daughters, that the Jinn are his partners, they made laws as they pleased, they did not feel bound by previous religions.

﴾ They swear their strongest oaths by Allah, that Allah will not raise up those who die ﴿

(Surat Al Nahl, 38)

As for worship, they used to circumambulate the Holy Ka’abah bare, and had other unacceptable and illogical practices. This is why when the period separating two prophets becomes prolonged, people will need a prophet to renew their religion and to restore their knowledge of Allah Almighty.

﴾ and if you say, surely you shall be raised up after death, those who disbelieve would certainly say: This is nothing but clear magic﴿

(Surat Hud, 7)

Dear brothers, it is important to elucidate this fact. Verbal denial can be remedied, but a denial in conduct is irremediable, unspoken heresies cannot be mended.
Say we have a scale. If there’s an error, it will be due either to the scale itself, or to the weighing operation. Errors due to the scale cannot be corrected, but errors due to the weighing do not persist. It is far better to err in weighing then to have a defective scale.
This is why creed is fundamental: If a man’s beliefs are sound so will his deeds be; and if his beliefs are false his deeds will be false too. I’m tempted to say that creed is the most important aspect of religion, if it is valid, the ensuing deeds will be valid too, and if there’s an error, it will be a weighing error not a flaw in the scale. An error in creed is like the defect in the scale, and an error of conduct is like the weighing error. The errors in creed cannot be fixed, while the error in weighing does not persist. If creed did not affect conduct, I would say: believe what you please. But because every belief has a perverse effect on conduct, you will have to rectify your creed, rectify your ideas.
Dear brothers, if a Moslem imagined that the Prophet will intercede for those of his people guilty of grave sins, not concerned with other than a superficial understanding of the tradition (Hadith), what would impel him to be righteous? Nothing, because he wrongly believed that the Prophet, peace and prayers be upon him, will intercede for him.
Incidentally, it is a serious mistake, if you are not knowledgeable, to settle for your own understanding of a tradition, and then to infer what you please and act accordingly, a very serious mistake indeed! The intercession of the Prophet is a profound topic that has its roots in several traditions. To get to a religious ruling, the jurists gather and study all the texts relevant to the topic: ayahs, traditions, the Prophet’s deeds and avowals, deeds of the companions, reasons of revelation, reasons of the tradition … But for a man, in these times, to learn a tradition, explain it as he pleases, and base rulings on it!? This is definitely not acceptable. Only devoted monotheists deserve the Prophet’s intercession.  If you are a devoted monotheist then you are a hair’s breadth away from salvation, as the expression goes.
A student takes an exam in ten courses, passes nine of them brilliantly, and needs one point to pass the tenth. This student deserves the intercession. But to have ten zeros and hope for an intercession? This would be utter idiocy.
Imagine a student saying to his classmate: ‘do not study, our teacher is kind-hearted, he sympathizes with you on exams, just pretend you are crying and he will give you the answer, do not study’. Some Muslims understand intercession like this.

‘O Fatima daughter of Mohammad, O Abbas uncle of Mohammad spare yourselves hellfire, for I hold nothing which can avail you against Allah’

‘Do not bring me your lineages while people bring me their deeds’.

‘If your deeds slow you up, your lineage will not move you any faster’.

Those are the Prophet’s words, and Allah almighty says:

﴾ Is he on whom the word of doom is fulfilled, and canst thou (O Muhammad) rescue him who is in the Fire? ﴿

(Surat Al Zumar, 19)

Again I say, were it not for the relationship between believing and behaving, I would say believe what you wish, but every belief has an impact on conduct, good or bad. So watch what you believe, go over your ideas and compare them to the Holy Book and the Traditions: What complies, gladly accept, and what does not, reject.
Dear brothers, attending lessons is an investment in your time. Imam Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, says: ‘knowledge is better than money, because knowledge preserves you while you preserve money, and because money is diminished by spending while knowledge prospers beyond spending’.

Two short stories:

A cab driver picked up a woman. Once in the car, he asked her where to head, she said: ‘Anywhere you wish’. He saw she was easy prey, and he indulged himself ... She left him two envelopes. He opened the first envelope to find a large sum in dollars, the second contained this note: welcome to the AIDS club! He was infected with AIDS. It also turned out that the dollars were counterfeit, and he was arrested and sent to jail when he tried to exchange them. If he had learned, the minute she said take anywhere you wish, he would have let her off and said: I fear Allah Lord of the worlds.
In my first sermon at the Nabulsi mosque, back in 1974, an older man approached me crying. When I inquired he said: ‘My wife is cheating on me’. I asked: ‘with who’, he said: ‘With my neighbor’. I said: ‘How did they meet? He said: ‘One day he visited me and I asked her to join us, so she won’t be alone, saying: he is like your brother, that’s how it started’. I said: ‘If you had educated yourself, you wouldn’t have done this’.
Honorable brothers, I hope you pay close attention to this rule: every single affliction on the face of the earth, from Adam to the Judgment Day, is caused by a departure from Allah’s scheme, and every departure from Allah’s scheme is caused by ignorance. Ignorance is man’s worst enemy, and the ignorant can cause more harm to himself than his enemy can. When you attend learning sessions you secure your safety and welfare in this world and in the Hereafter, because you learn the maker’s instructions, and no one deserves to be obeyed more than the maker, because he is the expert.

﴾ None can inform you like Him Who is Aware﴿

(Surat Fatir, 14)

So Quraish denied Resurrection, the Afterlife and Predestination, they worshiped idols which they claimed brought them closer to Allah, and other things…then it became clear how ignorant and weak they were. They even altered the remnants that reached them of the cult of Abraham, peace be upon him, denying that it should be in ‘Arafat and Muzdalifa, and Allah addressed them after the revelation of the Qur’an:

﴾ Then hasten onward from the place whence the multitude hasteneth onward, and ask forgiveness of Allah. Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful﴿

(Surat Al Baqara, 199)

So they changed, altered and perverted until they ‘adored’ Allah as they pleased. But the noble Ayah says:

﴾ And their prayer before the House is nothing but whistling and clapping of hands﴿

(Al Anfal, 35)

Dear brothers, I attended the Conference on Religions in Washington, and I saw the world’s religions and rites. They were 18 in number, and believe me, all these religions invented by man are mere dance, singing and music.

﴾ And their prayer before the House is nothing but whistling and clapping of hands﴿

When our worship looses in quality, it becomes mere chants and chanters, music, banquets and celebrations. The more we deviate from the true meaning of religion, the more we indulge in the pleasant, not the demanding, and the religious obligation is demanding. It is very nice to sing the praises of the Prophet of Allah, but it is not good to stop there and go no further. Some things are light, some demand an effort.

﴾ Do ye make the giving of drink to pilgrims, or the maintenance of the Sacred Mosque, equal to (the pious service of) those who believe in Allah and the Last Day ﴿

(Surat Al Tawba, 19)

Some people have great wealth, they build a minaret at their expense, and the inscription will say: this minaret was built by the great benefactor so-and-so. I am not trying to belittle spending on mosques, orphanages, charities and hospitals, it is a great deed, but the only bother for you is the time it takes to give your approval. While Islam is a comprehensive system, do’s and don’ts, duties and obligations, bans and prohibitions, disapproved matters … you cannot pick what you please, it is a complete scheme that should be accepted as a whole else none of its fruits can be reaped.

Dear brothers, Quraish ethics, their customs and practices before the Revelation were many, some of which were abolished by Islam. They indulged in wine drinking, they practiced gambling, they married women in unlimited numbers, they slew their children for fear of indigence, and they buried new-born girls alive for fear of shame and poverty. Allah Almighty says:

﴾ And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked For what sin she was slain ﴿

(Surat Al Takwir, 8)

I do not want to exaggerate, but just to draw your attention to a few facts. This ignorant man that lived before the revelation, takes his daughter, fresh as a flower, pure as an angel, and buries her alive. Allah says:

﴾ And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked For what sin she was slain ﴿

Nowadays this practice has disappeared. But on the other hand, today’s father gives his daughter complete freedom to go out whenever she pleases, dressed as she pleases, displaying her charms for everybody to see, heedless of the ethical, religious or legal restraints. So she becomes depraved and perverts others, she strays and leads others astray. This girl will say on Judgment Day: O Lord, I will not enter hellfire before I make my father enter it too. This is the meaning of the words of Allah Almighty:

﴾ And temptation is more grievous than slaughter ﴿

(Surat Al Baqara, 191)

Somebody once asked me during a lesson: men have their own specific worship like the Friday prayer, praying in congregation and joining the holy war (Jihad) for Allah’s cause. Do women have worship specific to them? Of course they do, the Prophet, peace and prayers be upon him, says:

‘Go now woman, and tell the women you know that being a good spouse, seeking to please your husband, and abiding by his will equals all that’.

(Narrated by Asma’ Bint Yazid Al Ansariya)

It is great that caring for husband and children is a sort of Jihad in Allah’s cause. But greater yet is a worship that is specific to women, which I call ‘preserving the virtue of young men’. Men may wear light clothes in summertime, this is peculiar to men. But young faithful women always wear ample compact clothes that do not betray their skin color or the form of their body. This can be a burden, but this is worship. So if a woman asks: what worship did Allah intend for women only? I say: the worship of ‘preserving the virtue of young men’, for every woman who displays her charms and perverts a young man will be accountable for this perversion on Judgment Day.

Before Islam there were no limits to the number of wives, and people used to slay their children because of penury. Allah Almighty says:

﴾ And that ye slay not your children because of penury﴿

(Surat Al Anaam, 151)

 meaning actual poverty.

﴾ Slay not your children, fearing a fall to poverty ﴿

(Surat Al Isra’, 31)

meaning an expected poverty.

So it is prohibited to slay the daughter in a condition of want that exists or that is feared and expected to happen. Apply this to our times: When you accept that your son earn a high income at the expense of his piety, is this not a kind of slaying? Numerous are those who are unconcerned with the faith of their children or their conduct, so they become corrupt though making lots of money. This should be taken into consideration too.

They waged wars for the most trivial of reasons: one of them would stretch out his leg and challenge: let those nobler than me strike it! And when somebody does, wars break out that last decades, destroying everything. This is ignorance too. Allah Almighty says:

﴾ And if one of them hath tidings of that which he likeneth to the Beneficent One, his countenance becometh black and he is full of inward rage ﴿

(Surat Al Zukhruf, 17)

They said that the angels are Allah’s daughters, and when they are told they have a daughter

﴾ … his countenance becometh black and he is full of inward rage ﴿

As for the faithful, they are like the Prophet, peace and prayers be upon him, when they brought him news of Fatima’s birth, he hugged her, filled himself of her scent and said:

‘A fragrant flower to smell, and Allah will provide for her’.

(Reported prophetic tradition)

A friend of mine has seven daughters. Every time his wife got pregnant and was ready to deliver, he had a big gift ready, in case she gave birth to a girl, to reassure her that she still had his highest esteem. Thus is the faithful.

﴾ When news is brought to one of them, of (the birth of) a female (child), his face darkens, and he is filled with inward grief! With shame does he hide himself from his people, because of the bad news he has had! Shall he retain it on (sufferance and) contempt, or bury it in the dust? Ah! what an evil (choice) they decide on?﴿

(Surat Al Nahl, 58-59)

The Prophet, peace and prayers be upon him, said:

‘Honor women, for by Allah, only the noble honor them, and only the vile humiliate them. They dominate the noble, and the vile dominate them, and I would rather be noble and dominated than be dominating and villain’.

(Reported in the prophetic tradition)

  He also said:

‘For they are the dear companions’

(Compiled by Ahmad in his Musnad, and by Al Tabarani in AlKabir, reported by ‘Uqba Ibn Amer)

And the Prophet, peace and prayers be upon him, made homes the place where a man earns the highest degree of excellence, he says:

‘The best among you are the best to their family, and I am the best to my family’

(Compiled by Tirmidhi from Aisha, Ibn Majah from Ibn Abbas, Al Tabarani in the Kabir from Mo’awiya)

A man outside his home, in a sort of diplomacy, is forbearing, delicate, smiling, apologetic, well dressed, but at home no one controls him… What counts is how you are at home, for the Prophet, peace and prayers be upon him says:

‘The best among you are the best to their family, and I am the best to my family’

  Allah Almighty says:

﴾ O you who believe! intoxicants and games of chance and (sacrificing to) stones set up and (dividing by) arrows are only an uncleanness, the Satan's work; shun it therefore that you may be successful ﴿

(Surat AlMaeda, 90)

Some of those who strayed from the path of Allah Almighty imagine that the word ‘shun’ does not imply total prohibition. On the contrary , it expresses the strongest degree of prohibition, for when you are forbidden from something, you are forbidden to engage in it, while here the Prophet, peace and prayers be upon him, says:

‘Allah Almighty has cursed wine and those who drink it, serve it, buy it, sell it, those who press it , who order the pressing, those who carry it, those it is carried to and those who spend its price.’

(Compiled by Abu Dawud and Al Hakem in the Mustadrak from Ibn Omar)

This requires you to keep a safe distance between you and wine, and this why shunning is among the strongest terms used for prohibition.

Several sorts of marriages none different from prostitution prevailed in the social context of the Prophet, peace and prayers be upon him.
Among these marriages is the ‘insemination marriage’, where a man orders his wife to go to so-and-so and mate with him, hoping she bears his child, because he may be good looking, strong or smart…
There was also the ‘group marriage’, where ten men share one woman in marriage, and I think that I have already mentioned to you that the latest scientific research established that every man has an identity, a unique iris, a unique scent. None of the six billion people living on earth share the same iris characteristics, the same voice, scent, fingerprints, cell or blood type. Recently a new differentiating element was added to the list: the semen. Every individual seminal fluid has a specific composition different from all others. And it was discovered that women possess a computing mechanism for processing this semen. As long as it is supplied with the same semen time after time, everything goes normally. But if different seminal fluids meet, the woman risks cancer of the uterus.
For new semen to be safely introduced, the supply of the first semen must be stopped for a period of three months, to give the processing mechanism time to rid itself of previous information, this is the legal waiting period prescribed in the Holy Qur’an. But if this is accompanied with emotional suffering, then a four month period is needed, which coincides with the legal waiting period prescribed for widows. I heard these considerations in an Islamic conference in Cairo, fully detailed and supported by elaborate experiments and research.
This is the ‘group marriage’ where ten men marry one woman, and then she decides who the father will be.

There was also the ‘flag marriage’ or brothels, houses with a flag indicating that the woman makes a living selling her body, while the pre-Islamic saying goes: a free woman prefers hunger to living off her bosoms.
Corrupt beliefs, corrupt conduct, erratic proscriptions, corrupted marriages, wine, gambling, injustice, aggression, burying girls alive, slaying children, this was the state of ignorance at the time the Prophet peace and prayers be upon him, was sent.

Allah willing, we shall continue these lessons to deepen our understanding of the life of the Prophet, peace and prayers be upon him. Every topic in these lessons will provide us with a rule to live by. If possible we will compare that period to ours to better understand the lesson, like I have compared burying a girl alive to the excess of freedom she is given nowadays, which is more dangerous? Excess freedom, because the girl buried alive goes to heaven, as for her, she goes to hell taking her father with her.

- In fact, cooperation among believers is a Divine Command; and every Divine Command in the Holy Quran and Prophetic Sunna is considered as a religious obligation.
- And in fact the religion of Islam is not merely ritual services and worships but goes further to cover all aspects of human life,
- for, as Allah, Most Gracious, desires, it guarantees happiness and welfare in the life
- of this present world and the world to come.
- In man there is an inclination to individualism that stems from his love and great care for his existence,
