In the Name of Allah, The Most Gracious, Most Merciful
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds, and peace and blessings be upon our Master Muhammad, the Faithful and the Honest.
I will use an example from our daily life to convey to you what I want to say. When you drive your car and you reach an intersection and a red traffic light, why do you stop and you do not keep driving? You do so, because there is a policeman who represents the minister of the interior, who in turn has put a traffic law. This minister knows about your violation through this policeman, and he is capable thus to punish you, and this is why you stop at the red traffic light. Much in the same line, when do you act righteously? When do you abide by religion? When do you apply religion? When do you seek Allah's Help? You do all that when you watch over your acts, knowing that Allah is watching you.
According to the previous example, you are a citizen with no privilege and you know for sure that the minister of the interior has appointed this policeman to be his eye and hand in carrying out the law, thus you cannot break it. If man embraces this concept before doing any motion, stance, or decision and before responding to any blazing desire, he will never disobey Allah. The proof is in the following Ayah:
﴾ ﴾ It is Allah Who has created seven heavens and of the earth the like thereof (i.e. seven). His Command descends between them (heavens and earth), that you may know that Allah has power over all things, and that Allah surrounds (comprehends) all things in (His) Knowledge.﴿ ﴿
This means that you are under Allah's Omnipotence due to His Might and Knowledge. If you believe beyond doubt in that, you will never disobey Him. A tiny clot of blood in the brain might cause paralysis or loss of vision or ability to speak, and life will be as a result a living hell. Having health problems in the heart, the liver, the stomach, the bones or the intestine, will lead to the same effect.
There are billion diseases on earth. It is amazing that man stays healthy though all these diseases exist. Man's body systems are very complicated, and they work in very complicating conditions, but when man adheres to Allah's Orders, Allah will be with him. When man is steadfast on Allah's Path, Allah will protect his health.
A very notable scholar in Damascus reached the age 97, and he enjoyed sound body, sight and hearing, and all his teeth were healthy till that age. Whenever he was asked about his health, he would answer, "O son, we kept our senses away from sinning when we were young, and so Allah kept them healthy in our old age. He, who lives piously, lives able-bodied."
