In the Name of Allah, The Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Money increases by Zakat, and regarding this fact there are two explanations; a scientific explanation and another one. The scientific explanation is that when the rich spends his money, I mean when he pays the Zakat of his money, he is actually giving the poor a purchasing power, making them able to buy their needs, and so the owners of the shops, the owners of the factories, and the owners of the commercial institutions will gain profits. These profits get back to the payers of Zakat who have paid it to the poor, and it has turned into a purchasing power that has enabled the poor to buy their needs.
There is another explanation, which I hope to make clear to my fellow viewers. There is a law that I call the law of the Divine Providence; when you pay Zakat of your money to the poor, according to the law of the Divine Providence, Allah the Almighty will multiply your money many times.
In brief, either by a legal mechanism that makes money circulate, or by a Divine Informative Mechanism, the money of the Zakat payer increases due to the Will of Allah, Exalted and Sublime be He. Allah the Almighty says:
﴾Take Sadaqah (alms) from their wealth… ﴿
It (Sadaqah) confirms their sincerity. Allah the Almighty goes on:
﴾ …In order to purify them ﴿
It purifies the self of the rich man from stinginess, and it purifies the self of the poor man from grudge towards the rich. The poor has the right to have Zakat paid to him from the money of the rich.
Allah the Almighty says:
﴾ …and sanctify them with it, and invoke Allah for them. ﴿
[At-Taubah, 103]
The selves of both the rich and the poor men will exalt, and the money, from which Zakat is paid, will increase by a mechanism that is related to Zakat; given this same money becomes a purchasing power, or it increases due to the Divine Providence.
