In the Name of Allah, The Most Gracious, Most Merciful
We have in religion: Islam, Iman and Ihasn.
Islam by definition is to submit to Allah's Way, and by this submitting you become a Muslim. As for Iman, it is appliance, belief and approaching Allah the Almighty, whereas Kufr is disbelief and turning away from Allah.
Turning to Allah is different from one person to another, and thus believers are of different levels not due to what they know, because knowledge is the same, but because they differ in approaching Allah.
Regarding Ihsan, it comes after Iman. The order is: Islam, Iman, and Ihsan. Ihsan by definition is to worship Allah as if you saw Him, and though you cannot see Him, He sees you. Some scholars described this level as the level of Muraqabah (watching over the heart and the soul).
Al-Mohsen (the one who reached Ihsan) fears Allah in everything he does, and he asks himself always: Does this decision please Allah? Does this word please Allah? If I give a piece of advice to someone, do I do that for the Sake of Allah?
Soul-searching and self-reckoning make the highest level in man's path towards Allah Almighty. Again, Ihsan is to worship Allah as if you saw Him, and though you cannot see Him, He sees you.
