In the Name of Allah, The Most Gracious, Most Merciful
What we need from Al Qadr night is to know Allah because knowing Allah is the foundation of religion.
We want from Al Qadr night to appreciate and to glorify Allah.
We want from Al Qadr night to become submissive to Allah in our prayers and to turn to Him more and more.
We want from Al Qadr night to draw closer to Allah and to taste the sweetness of that closeness.
We want from Al Qadr night to sense that happiness of being with Allah. That is because there is a paradise in worldly life (This happiness) those who do not enter, will not enter the paradise of Allah Almighty in the Hereafter.
Allah says:
﴾ And admit them to Paradise which He has made known to them (i.e. they will know their places in Paradise more than they used to know their houses in the world). ﴿
They know it because they tasted it in worldly life.
By Allah the only Deity worthy of worship, I will not be exaggerating if I say: If you don't taste the sweetness of being close to Allah in worldly life, you won't be able to worship Him as you should be. The purpose of fasting Ramadan is to build a connection with Al Wahid Al Dayyan (The One and The Judge), to know Him and to love Him.
It is not possible to know Allah and not love Him, and it is not possible to love Allah and not obey Him.
