Islamic selected passages (14): Distorting Deen (Islamic Religion) by Giving the Wrong Picture

In the Name of Allah, The Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Being a Muslim means that you consider intoxicants haram (forbidden), Riba (usury) haram, and Zina (fornication) haram. Unfortunately, on T.V shows, they give the picture of the deviated man as someone elegant and civilized, someone who lives in a great mansion where the decoration are beyond imagination, and someone who owns several cars. Furthermore, he welcomes his wife's friends who are dressed indecently, showing their beauty and looking their best, while his wife is not at home. This is how the civilized person looks like according to them (the director and the screenwriter); he is elegant and attractive, and he owns a mansion and many cars.  On the other hand, they show the religious straight man as a narrow-minded person, his wife neglects her home, and she spends her time visiting neighbors, and his children are always playing in the street and they are not good students at school.

They do not say anything about commitment to Deen (Islamic religion), but they present the ugliest picture of religious commitment, while they present the charming picture of moral deviation. The same goes for the West; westerners depend on the image (while viewing Islam) rather than the word.
