Lesson 23 – Zakat purifies and sanctifies the believer.

In the Name of Allah, The Most Gracious, Most Merciful

We are discussing the subject of Zakat in our lesson today. Allah the Almighty says:

(Take Sadaqah (alms) from their wealth in order to purify them and sanctify them with it)

[At-Taubah, 103]

Allah is addressing you by saying: This Zakat purifies and sanctifies you. Well what does it purify? It purifies the rich person from stinginess. In fact, stinginess is like a fatal disease, and by Allah, I am not exaggerating, for stinginess is a malicious disease that inflicts man and turns him into a fool who lives as a poor man and dies as a rich one.

﴾Take Sadaqah (alms) from their wealth in order to purify them and sanctify them with it,﴿

 [At-Taubah, 103]

Dear noble brothers, pay attention to this Ayah:

﴾Take Sadaqah (alms) from their wealth in order to purify them and sanctify them with it,﴿

 [At-Taubah, 103]

Zakat purifies the rich man from stinginess, the poor man from hatred and the money from the rights of others in it:

﴾ And sanctify them with it,﴿

[At-Taubah, 103]

Zakat thrives the rich man's self when he sees the smile on the faces of those he helped, soothed and consoled. Also, it purifies the poor man's self when he sees how the society takes care of him. Furthermore, it purifies the money from the rights of others in it. Hence, money, the poor man's self and the rich man's self are thrived by Zakat. This is Zakat as Allah the Almighty says:

﴾Take Sadaqah (alms) from their wealth in order to purify them and sanctify them with it,﴿

 [At-Taubah, 103]
