The role of mind in getting to know Allah:
The human mind is the most complex creation in the universe – a divine gift from Almighty Allah designated to help human beings to know Him and draw closer to Him. As such, the mind serves as a primary pillar of moral accountability (taklif).
However, the mind is essentially an impartial tool; if you aim it at seeking the truth, it will lead you to it, but if you purely at personal worldly interests, it will lead you to those instead. Thus, real success comes from using this intellect, which Allah has honored us with, to get to know Him, follow His way, understand why we are here, and prioritize our eternal well-being in the Hereafter.
The first element of human accountability is the universe; a manifest sign pointing to Allah's Existence, Perfection, and Oneness. The mind operates on three core axioms: causality the purpose, and non-contradiction. Accordingly, the mind cannot accept the occurrence of any event without a cause, cannot accept the occurrence of any event without a purpose and cannot accept contradiction.
Logicians identify these as the three fundamental principles of reason, which completely align with the laws governing the universe. In other words, just as the rational mind rejects events occurring without cause or purpose, Allah the Almighty has established this universe around precise cause-effect relationships. In His infinite wisdom, Almighty Allah has gently guided us toward knowing Him in a way that aligns with the nature of our human mind, that is founded upon those three fundamental principles, and that aligns with its characteristics.
