In the Name of Allah, The Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Allah has granted human beings not only the universe and the faculty of reason, but also desires.
Desires are, in essence, a motivating force. Without them, human beings would not be able to strive, achieve, or attain excellence in the sight of the Creator of Heavens and Earth.
Consider the following analogy: a person's desires are like the engine of a vehicle, reason is like the steering wheel, and the Shari'ah is like the road. Success lies in properly controlling the steering wheel and keeping the vehicle, powered by the engine of desire, on the path laid out by the Shari'ah without deviating from it.
