Lesson 16 – The Highest Rank in Reciting Quran.

In the Name of Allah, The Most Gracious, Most Merciful

The Prophet PBUH said:

(He who observes fasting during the month of Ramadan with Faith while seeking its reward from Allah, will have his past sins forgiven.)

[Agreed upon, on the authority of Abi Hurairah]

You might have been committed sins as many as mountains, but if you observe Sawm (fasting) in Ramadan as Allah decrees, the kind of fasting that is based on acts of obedience to Allah not on watching TV, the kind of fasting that is an act of worship not a habitual activity, the kind of fasting that is accompanied with piety not sins, and the kind of fasting that pushes you towards Allah not pushing you away from Him, your sins will be forgiven according to the following Hadith:

(He who observes fasting during the month of Ramadan with Faith while seeking its reward from Allah, will have his past sins forgiven.)

[Agreed upon on the authority of Abi Hurairah]

In another Hadith, the Prophet PBUH said:

(Nor does he speak of (his own) desire. It is only an Inspiration that is inspired.)

[An-Najm, 3-4]

Some scholars say, "The highest rank in reciting the Noble Quran is to do so while you are standing in Masjid during Salah". In other words, the best reward you receive upon reciting Quran is to recite it while you are standing in Masjid during Salah, which is Taraweeh Salah.

(Whosoever performs (optional Taraweeh) prayers at night during the month of Ramadan, with Faith and in the hope of receiving Allah's reward, will have his past sins forgiven.)

[Agreed upon, on the authority of Abi Hurairah]

Some scholars say, "The highest rank in reciting the Noble Quran is to do so while you are standing in Masjid during Salah". In other words, the best reward you receive upon reciting Quran is to recite it while you are standing in Masjid during Salah, which is Taraweeh Salah.
