Islamic Topics- Miscellaneous Topics- Lesson (082): The Fierce Zionist War on Gaza

In the Name of Allah, The Most Gracious, Most Merciful

The Divine explanation of the events in Gaza:

Dear brother, the most important current issue in Muslims' life is the Zionist fierce war on Gaza. There are hundreds of analysis, tens of points of view and contradictory opinions, but among all that heroism lies in comprehending the Divine interpretation of the ongoing events. The Almighty Allah says:

((Verily, Fir'aun (Pharaoh) exalted himself in the land and made its people sects, weakening (oppressing) a group (i.e. Children of Israel) among them, killing their sons, and letting their females live. Verily, he was of the Mufsidun (i.e. those who commit great sins and crimes, oppressors, tyrants, etc.). ))

[Al-Qasas, 4]

You might have read this Ayah thousands of times, but upon reading it nowadays, you will clearly comprehend its precise meaning:

((And We wished to do a favour to those who were weak (and oppressed) in the land, and to make them rulers and to make them the inheritors, ))

[Al-Qasas, 5]

The first party includes arrogant, haughty and mighty tyrants, while the other one includes helpless unarmed civilians:

((And We wished to do a favour to those who were weak (and oppressed) in the land, and to make them rulers and to make them the inheritors* And to establish them in the land, and We let Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and Haman and their hosts receive from them that which they feared. ))

[Al-Qasas, 5-6]

This Ayah, dear brother, fills the believer's heart with trust in the Divine Wisdom.

Whatever happened would have never happened but by Allah's leave:

The first fact in our topic today is whatever happened, is happening and will happen in the entire universe, since the first creation till the Day of Resurrection, would have never happened except by Allah's leave. Since Allah decreed for it to happen, and since every event happens is related to the Divine Wise Entity, then whatever happens is due to absolute profound Divine Wisdom, whether we know this Wisdom or ignore it. In fact the wisdom of these actions might appear sooner or later. Therefore, you should bear in mind that the absolute evil does not exist in the universe, for it contradicts the existence of Allah. Everything happened, would have never happened except by Allah's leave, and since Allah is the All-Wise, He wills that it happens, and thus there must be profound wisdom within the events that take place, whether we know it or ignore it. Such wisdom will definitely be disclosed whether in the near future or in the far one.

The Prophet's stance PBUH towards the calamities he faced:

Dear brother, by going back to the Prophetic Seerah (biography), we will find that biography of the Prophet, peace be upon him, is a set of events which happened throughout his life. Also, we will realize that there is profound Divine Wisdom behind them, so that the Prophet, peace be upon him, would take the right stance towards them. His stances, confirmations, actions and sayings are all Sunnah for us to follow. If we get beck to the Noble Prophetic Seerah, we will read the following Hadith: The Prophet, peace be upon him, said:

((I have been made afraid regarding Allah's cause when no one was afraid, I have been made to endure harm in Allah's cause when no one was suffering harm, and thirty nights and days have come to me when Bilal and I had no food which creatures possessed of a liver eat, except something which was kept under Bilal's armpit))

[At-Tirmizi, by Anas Ibn Malik]

The Master of mankind and the beloved of Al-Haqq (Allah) was helpless, and the evidence for that was manifested in his reaction when he passed by Aal Yasser while they were tortured by infidels in Makkah. He couldn't save them, but instead he said to them:

((O members of the family of Yasir! Be patient. You have been promised Paradise))

Being a helpless person is not a stigma, but being a tyrant is a stigma.

Worldly life is the abode of assignment and toil not the abode of rest:

 I repeat the Ayah:

(( And We wished to do a favour to those ))

[Al-Qasas, 5]

  To whom?

((who were weak (and oppressed) in the land, and to make them rulers and to make them the inheritors* And to establish them in the land, and We let Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and Haman and their hosts receive from them that which they feared. ))

[Al-Qasas, 5-6]

Believing in this Ayah is part of Tawheed (Monotheism), and we deduce from it that no matter how criminal, tyrant, despotic, bloodthirsty and assassin the one who has control over people is, there is a grace underneath the events that took place, and it will be revealed later on. By Allah the only God, Allah never lets a tyrant on the earth, in the fifth continents, and since the beginning of creation till the end of days, keep exercising his tyranny against people, but only to function his oppression in the favor of Islam and Muslims. Think about all the positives which drew us (as Muslims) closer to Allah and brought us together after the events of 9/11 despite the painful consequences of these events. We should all know that the worldly life is not the abode of settlement. The Prophet, peace be upon him, said:

((O people, this worldly life is a place of crookedness and is not a place of straightforwardness. It is a place of grief and is not a place of joy [Pay attention "place of adversity", our brother in Gaza are in great adversity]. Whoever recognizes this will not feel joy at [the achievement of] some hope or feel grief at wretchedness. Allah has meant for the worldly life to be a place for trial, and has meant for the Hereafter to be a place for ramification. Hence, He has made the adversity of the worldly life a reason for the reward in the Hereafter, and He has made the reward of the Hereafter a compensation for the adversity of the worldly life. He takes to give and afflicts to reward.))

[Knaz Al-Ummal, by Ibn Umar]

Allah functions tyrants' oppression to serve Islam and Muslims:

Some people might say that hundreds were killed and thousands were injured in the current events, and we say to those people:

((Think not of those who are killed in the Way of Allah as dead. Nay, they are alive, with their Lord, and they have provision.))

[Aal-'Imran, 169]

((It was said (to him when the disbelievers killed him): "Enter Paradise." He said: "Would that my people knew!* "That my Lord (Allah) has forgiven me, and made me of the honoured ones!"))

[Ya-Sin, 26-27]

I would like to repeat the first fact: Tyrants on earth are allowed to do whatever they want in order to use their tyranny to the advantage of Islam and Muslims and to gain a religious qualitative leap (in faith).
Order:

We didn't act upon the entire Divine Method, Allah says:

((And make ready against them all you can of power, including steeds of war (tanks, planes, missiles, artillery, etc.) to threaten the enemy of Allah and your enemy))

[Al-Anfal, 60]

This Ayah is a Divine Order, and every Quranic Divine Order entails obligation, so did we make ready against them or is it the other way around? They prepared destructive weapons, planes and missiles, so they took this step before us, and when they became stronger than us, they imposed their western culture, their decisions and their moral deviation on the entire world. You should know that the worldly life has its own system according to which one should make use of the available means in order to reap the good results. Hence, whoever does not make use of the available means, will not be able to reap any fruitful results though he might be a believer.

I repeat again, the first fact: If Allah unfolds the wisdom behind these painful events, and lets us see what He prepares for the patient people who have been afflicted with these events and never say a word that doesn't please Allah the Exalted, people will remain patient and content with the calamities that befall them.

Once I was in an Arab country where a professor who visited Gaza delivered a speech, and his words which were very impressive made my cry. He said, "I went to Gaza and saw free people there, whereas we are under the siege of our lusts and interests in our safe countries." When man is so close to Allah, he will be in indescribable happiness. Those people (Palestinians) are afflicted with the most sever calamities, but seeing the Arab world watching and keeping silent is yet the worst calamity. When a woman said, "O Mu'tasem (An Abbasi Khalifah), help us", Al-Mu'tasem prepared an army and invaded Ammoriah and saved that woman's honor. A poet commented on the current events saying:

Orphan girls cried loudly
"O Mu'tasem" (asking for help)
their scream reached only Arabs' ears It never revive in them the conscious of Mu'tasem
***

Allah will never let down whoever follows the truth and Aqeedah:

Dear brother, through Tawheed you can comprehend the wisdom behind the events; Tawheed makes man realize that the Hand of Allah can handle things, and he will know that this crisis (from which the Gazans suffer) is what brings us together, motivates our deep feelings and good morals, encourages us to give generously and confirms our belonging to this Ummah. If we are not touched by what is going on, then we are worthless because man is nothing without values and principles to commit to.

Dear brother, the trust of the Prophet, peace be upon him, was obvious when He, the Master of mankind and the beloved to Al-Haqq, was most wanted dead or alive. Also, the infidels announced a reward of 100 she-camels was to be given to whoever would bring him alive or dead. Suraqah followed him (while he, peace be upon him, was with Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him) and you know the rest of the story. Did you remember what the Prophet, peace be upon him, said to Suraqah? "O Suraqah, I wonder how you will feel like when you put on the bracelets of Kisra on your wrists?" This means that I (the Prophet, peace be upon him) am going to reach Madinah safely (this is the Prophet's trust in Allah), establish an Islamic Ummah in Madinah, establish an army, fight the greatest two states in the world and defeat them, and Kisra's loots will come to Madinah and you Suraqah will put on the bracelets of Kisra on your wrists. The Prophet, peace be upon him said these words at the time when the graphic line of Da'wah (calling for Allah)was in its lowest point as the Prophet, peace be upon him, was chased and a reward of 100 she-camels would be given the one who would bring him alive or dead. Nevertheless, the Prophet, peace be upon him, had faith in his Lord and was sure beyond doubt that Allah would never let him down.

Let me tell you dear brother that as long as the people of Gaza hold fast to their Aqeedah and as long as they are upright, Allah will never let them down. As for those who were killed in the Cause of Allah, I invoke Allah to admit them in a Paradise as wide as the heavens and earth, and in which no eye has ever seen, no ear has ever heard and no human heart has ever perceived.

The great achievements of the resistance (in Gaza):

If we want to analyze the current situation (in the occupied countries, can you see any great accomplishments of the resistant fighters in Iraq or Afghanistan? According to the results of the war in Afghanistan, 73 percent of Afghanistan is in the hands of the believers making 30 countries with all their potentials, weapons, planes and missiles confused by these results; who would ever believe that few people (the resistant forces), who are lightly armed with shotguns only, could stand up against thirty western countries, and they were able to recapture four fifth of their land? The western countries admitted that they rule Cabool and its surrounding only.

The occupation forces learnt a lesson they will never forget in Iraq, just like the one learnt by the Israeli forces in Lebanon last year. Concerning the war in Lebanon, it was reported that 3000 fighters humiliated the Zionist army which is considered the most powerful army in the Middle East. These small victories are Divine refreshing doses. It is the 8th day of the war on Gaza, and the resistant could locally made missiles whose range is 40 Kilometers. They declared that they have missiles that can hit Tel Abib, so the Zionists started to prepare the bomb shelters and sirens in Tel Abib. They are frightened by those fighters who are few in numbers but they are believers.

The real achievements accomplished by the resistance:

1- Zionists' top priority was to be secured, but now it is to survive:

This is a great lesson that should be recorded in history: A small group of believers is able to challenge the mightiest army. Not to mention that such an army is unable to achieve any goal. If I want to discuss the real achievements of the resistant forces, I will mention the change they caused to the priorities of the Zionists. Their top concern was to keep secured, but now their top priority is to stay alive, which was not an option five or six years ago. This change is actually a qualitative leap and a remarkable achievement.

2- Putting an end to the war is no longer in Zionists' hands:

The second achievement is the decision is no longer in the Zionists' hands. What does that mean? It means that they can no longer put an end to any war they start, and they have no idea when the war will end. They were shocked by the performance of the resistant fighters. They thought that by bombing unarmed civilians and safe houses with their high-tech fighter jets, they can finish everything, but nothing has finished, and they are still on day 8 of the war and none of their goals has been achieved. Hence, if Allah is with us, who can be against us? Well, I know that there are losses but this war has been pointless to them. I ask Allah for keeping the people of Gaza safe and to grant them victory.

I would like to repeat the achievements of the resistant fighters: The decision to end the war is no longer theirs, and their top priority is to survive not to stay safe.

3- The balance of terror:

The third achievement is the balance of terror. In every war against Muslims, we used to be the one in terror, while they used to go on with their daily activities, but now there has been a new situation that is called "The balance of terror". Because of this situation, they are frightened just like us, they resort to bomb shelters as we do and they use sirens like us. One of their ministers had to duck down to the ground because of a missile headed towards their area. This had never happened before. Let me repeat the three achievements the resistant fighters have achieved so far: The balance of terror, losing the decision-making seeking survival instead of safety.

Pay attention to the following: War started between two human beings, then it became a war between two machines, after a period of time it became a war between two minds and now it is back to be a war between two human beings. Hence, it started with man and ended with man.

The preparation of Muslims was late, yet they started reaping its fruits:

One of the most accurate statements which I have heard is the one declared by a senior official in Pentagon. He stated, "What should we do with our aircraft carriers? What should we do with our transcontinental missiles given no country on earth dares to fight us? However, what can we do with the one who seeks death (in Allah's Cause) and shakes our solid entity? Notice how war started between two human beings, then it became between two machines. As years passed it became between two minds, and now it is back to be a war between two human beings. The mightiest army in the region, who defeated seven Arab armies in hours (in the past), is unable to put an end to a war with Palestinian resistance after 8 days, and in Lebanon they couldn't end it but after 33 days.

Dear brother, objectively speaking, there is a qualitative development in our favor, yet life needs more endeavor. They have been making ready against us, and we have just started making ready for them, which is late. Nevertheless, we start to reap the fruits of our preparation; they are terrified exactly like us. We are now on the 8th day of this war and they are reluctant to send the ground forces to Gaza.

In Lebanon, 68 tanks, which are the strongest in the world, were destroyed in one day, and this created the balance of terror. The news today mentions that the Zionist soldiers are running away from the battle field, lest they are ordered to enter Gaza. This event had never happened before, so let us all be optimistic:

((So do not become weak (against your enemy), nor be sad, and you will be superior (in victory) if you are indeed (true) believers. ))

[Aal-'Imran, 139]

The conditions of victory:

1- Believing in Allah:

Dear brother, if someone asks Allah to grant us victory, should he not think that such a victory has conditions to be fulfilled? Absolutely, he should since there are conditioned which have to be fulfilled. The first one is to believe in Allah, and the proof is in the following Ayaht:

((and (as for) the believers it was incumbent upon Us to help (them). ))

[Ar-Rum, 47]

((Verily, We will indeed make victorious Our Messengers and those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) in this world's life ))

[Ghafir, 51]

((And never will Allah grant to the disbelievers a way (to triumph) over the believers.))

[An-Nisa', 141]

The faith of man should keep him obedient to Allah:

((Allah has promised those among you who believe, and do righteous good deeds, that He will certainly grant them succession to (the present rulers) in the earth, as He granted it to those before them, and that He will grant them the authority to practise their religion, that which He has chosen for them (i.e. Islam). And He will surely give them in exchange a safe security after their fear (provided) they (believers) worship Me and do not associate anything (in worship) with Me.))

[An-Nur, 55]

All these Ayaht confirm the fact that terminating the entire universe is easier to Allah than keeping His promises to His believing servants unfulfilled. The Divine ؛Promise is still there, but you should fulfill your duty first, then you can ask Allah for what you want:

((And make ready against them all you can of power))

[Al-Anfal, 60]

Hence, the first condition is to believe, but what kind of faith we are talking about? It is the faith which keeps man obedient to Allah.

2- Making ready against the enemy:

The second condition is making ready against our enemies all we can of power. Regarding this condition, we should bear in mind that Allah the Exalted didn't ask us to make ready equal power to the enemy's, because this is beyond our scope now. However, Allah orders us to make ready all means of power we have:

((And make ready against them all you can of power))

[Al-Anfal, 60]

There is a big difference between ordering us to make ready the equivalent power and to make ready all we can of power. It is enough for us to prepare the power within our scope, and Allah will grant us victory in return by His Might and Potent.

Hence dear brother, the law of victory entails two prerequisite conditions; faith alone is not enough, and preparation alone is not enough either. Thus, they are indispensible; we should have the faith which keeps us obedient to Allah, and we are supposed to prepare all the available means of power, then we can ask Allah to grant us victory. These conditions are included in the Method of the Creator of heavens and earth.

Allah afflicts man with calamities to remind him of the purpose of his creation:

Dear brother, the Almighty Allah afflicts the believers with these calamities to remind them that He created them for a Paradise as wide as the heavens and earth if they become oblivious to this great purpose and indulge instead in the worldly life forgetting all about the Hereafter. These calamities are the painful alarm signal to awaken our souls. Allah says:

((And certainly, We shall test you with something of fear, hunger, loss of wealth, lives and fruits, but give glad tidings to As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.)* Who, when afflicted with calamity, say: "Truly! To Allah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return."* They are those on whom are the Salawat (i.e. blessings, etc.) (i.e. who are blessed and will be forgiven) from their Lord, and (they are those who) receive His Mercy, and it is they who are the guided-ones.))

[Al-Baqarah, 155-157]

The Ayah is addressing the believers.

Allah afflicts His servant so that he reconciles with Him:

Regarding this point, dear brother Allah says:

((that Allah may make them taste a part of that which they have done, in order that they may return (by repenting to Allah, and begging His Pardon).))

[Ar-Rum, 41]

If we return to the Almighty Allah, these afflictions will bring us unseen graces:

((and has completed and perfected His Graces upon you, (both) apparent (i.e Islamic Monotheism, and the lawful pleasures of this world, including health, good looks, etc.) and hidden [i.e. One's Faith in Allah (of Islamic Monotheism) knowledge, wisdom, guidance for doing righteous deeds, and also the pleasures and delights of the Hereafter in Paradise, etc.]?))

[Luqman, 20]

Allah afflicts us with these calamities in order to reconcile with Him, to draw closer to Him and to become aware of the purpose of our existence. Again, this is the law of victory, which is very precise, and it requires fulfilling two conditions: We should have faith that keeps us obedient to Allah, and we should make the preparations that are within our scope. When these two conditions are fulfilled, we will be granted victory insha' Allah (if Allah wills).

The reasons why Muslims are not established in the land:

First reason: Lacking patience:

 The Almighty Allah says:

((Indeed, they planned their plot, and their plot was with Allah, though their plot was a great (one, still) it would never be able to remove the mountains (real mountains or the Islamic law) from their places (as it is of no importance) [Tafsir Ibn Kathir, Vol. 2, Page 597]. [It is said by some interpreters regarding this Verse that the Quraish pagans plotted against Prophet Muhammad to kill him but they failed and were unable to carry out their plot which they plotted]. ))

[Ibrahim, 46]

What kind of plot is that? Can the countries all over world move Mount Qasioun to Dar'a? Allah says that their plot is as great as that:

((though their plot was a great (one, still) it would never be able to remove the mountains (real mountains or the Islamic law) from their places (as it is of no importance) [Tafsir Ibn Kathir, Vol. 2, Page 597].

[It is said by some interpreters regarding this Verse that the Quraish pagans plotted against Prophet Muhammad to kill him but they failed and were unable to carry out their plot which they plotted]. ))

((So think not that Allah will fail to keep His Promise to His Messengers. Certainly, Allah is All-Mighty, - All-Able of Retribution.))

[Ibrahim, 47]

By Allah dear brother, believe it or not, the solution of Muslims' problems on earth lies in two words that are mentioned in the Noble Quran, which is the Words of the Creator of the heavens and earth. Allah says:

((But if you remain patient and become Al-Muttaqun, not the least harm will their cunning do to you.))

[Aal-'Imran, 120]

These two words (patience and piousness) are enough for Muslims to stand against their enemies' planes, missiles, space stations, satellites, media, money and high technology that they have:

((But if you remain patient and become Al-Muttaqun, not the least harm will their cunning do to you.))

[Aal-'Imran, 120]

Regardless of their enormous armies, powerful armored vehicles, fighter jets and all state-of-the-art weapons, man can defeat them t with his faith, with his certain knowledge of the Divine Victory and with seeking Allah's Help. This is a fact that is proved to us every day:

((But if you remain patient and become Al-Muttaqun, not the least harm will their cunning do to you.))

[Aal-'Imran, 120]

Second reason: Not worshiping Allah alone:

 The second indication:

((Allah has promised those among you who believe, and do righteous good deeds, that He will certainly grant them succession to (the present rulers) in the earth, as He granted it to those before them, and that He will grant them the authority to practice their religion, that which He has chosen for them (i.e. Islam). And He will surely give them in exchange a safe security after their fear))

[An-Nur, 55]

What religion Allah has granted us the authority to practice? It is the religion that which He has chosen for us. The accurate meaning drawn from this Ayah is that when we are not given the authority to practice our religion, then we must have misunderstood it in a way that displeased the Almighty Allah.

Third reason: Not following the true religion that which Allah has chosen for them:

Muslims sometimes comprehend, practice and present (to sh3er) their wrong perception of Islam (instead of the right Islam):

((and that He will grant them the authority to practise their religion, that which He has chosen for them (i.e. Islam).))

Therefore, we should look for the right Islam which pleases Allah.

Fourth reason: Our condition has been changed:

There is another indication in the following Ayah:

((Verily! Allah will not change the good condition of a people as long as they do not change their state of goodness themselves (by committing sins and by being ungrateful and disobedient to Allah).))

[Ar-Ra'd, 11]

Unless we are changed from inside, the Almighty Allah will never change our condition. Therefore, when we change from inside, when we turn back to Allah, when we reconcile with Him and when we give Him our pledge to repent sincerely, Allah will change the situation we are in:

((Verily! Allah will not change the good condition of a people as long as they do not change their state of goodness themselves (by committing sins and by being ungrateful and disobedient to Allah).))

[Ar-Ra'd, 11]

As if the Almighty Allah put us in a very big sphere in which there are oppressing powers, and He made us the owners of a smaller sphere, so when we fulfill our religious duties in what we own, Allah will spare us the trouble of the one we don't own.

((You are given help and provision because of your weak))

[Abu Dawood, At-Tirmizi and An-Nasa'i, by Abi Ad-Darda'a]

Whoever worships Allah improperly doesn't deserve Allah's three promises:

There is another indication in the following Ayah:

((and (as for) the believers it was incumbent upon Us to help (them).))

[Ar-Rum, 47]

((Allah has promised those among you who believe, and do righteous good deeds, that He will certainly grant them succession to (the present rulers) in the earth, as He granted it to those before them, and that He will grant them the authority to practise their religion, that which He has chosen for them (i.e. Islam). And He will surely give them in exchange a safe security after their fear))

[An-Nur, 55]

If people worship the Almighty Allah improperly, Allah postpones the fulfillment of His three promises. However, I would like you to remember that the Almighty Allah wants us to return to Him, to cringe before Him and to beseech Him after every calamity, so that we can get the Divine Support.

Dear brother, I use to make the following Du'a:

"O Allah, make us victorious over our own-selves, so that we can be victorious for Your Sake, and only then we deserve Your Divine Victory over our enemies."

The above-mentioned points are axiomatic facts.

The essence of Islam is getting acquainted with Allah:

 The Almighty Allah says:

((Then, there has succeeded them a posterity who have given up As-Salat (the prayers) [i.e. made their Salat (prayers) to be lost, either by not offering them or by not offering them perfectly or by not offering them in their proper fixed times, etc.] and have followed lusts. So they will be thrown in Hell. ))

[Maryam, 59]

Muslims have been thrown in earthy hell already. According to most scholars giving up Salah doesn't mean abandoning it, but rather it means to void it from its content:

((who have given up As-Salat (the prayers) [i.e. made their Salat (prayers) to be lost, either by not offering them or by not offering them perfectly or by not offering them in their proper fixed times, etc.] and have followed lusts. So they will be thrown in Hell. ))

Muslims have been already thrown in earthy hell.

The clean heart:

 Allah the Almighty says:

((The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail* Except him who brings to Allah a clean heart [clean from Shirk (polytheism) and Nifaq (hypocrisy)].))

[Ash-Shu'ara', 88-89]

The clean heart is the one which doesn't long for a desire that displeases Allah, doesn't accept any piece of new of information that contradicts the Divine Revelation, doesn't submit but to Allah's Rulings and worships none save Allah Alone. Hence, keep your heart clean and say goodbye to your forbidden desires, and then be sure that the victory is coming soon.

The topic around which our lecture revolves is very delicate and crucial, and we are in dire need of it, but we should comprehend it according to the Noble Quran and the words of the Master of Messengers (Muhammad, peace be upon him).

Types of victory:

1- The meritorious victory:

Dear brother, one more thing regarding victory; I have just said that victory needs having the faith that keeps you obedient to Allah, and it needs making ready against your enemy all you can of power. Having fulfilled these two conditions, we will be granted the prevailing triumph. This is called the meritorious victory:

((And Allah has already made you victorious at Badr, when you were a weak little force. ))

[Aal-'Imran, 123]

The noble Companions of the Prophet, peace be upon him, deserved Allah's victory in Badr Battle, whereas, in Uhud Battle they failed because they disobeyed the Prophet, peace be upon him, and in Hunain Battle they failed because they were trapped in the hidden Shirk, what did they say then?

((Any army of twelve thousands would never be defeated due to fewness))

[Abu Dawood and At-Tirmizi, by Abdullah Ibn Abbas]

The first victory is the meritorious one.

2- The apter victory:

The second victory is a new type of victories; it is the apter victory. Allah says:

((The Romans have been defeated* In the nearer land (Syria, Iraq, Jordan, and Palestine), and they, after their defeat, will be victorious* Within three to nine years. The decision of the matter, before and after (these events) is only with Allah, (before the defeat of Romans by the Persians, and after, i.e. the defeat of the Persians by the Romans). And on that Day, the believers (i.e. Muslims) will rejoice (at the victory given by Allah to the Romans against the Persians)* With the help of Allah))

[Ar-Rum, 2-5]

This means that the Romans are the people of the Scripture (Christians), and despite the deviations in their creed, they defeated their enemy. The scholars commented on that victory saying that "it is an apter victory" since they are better than their enemy being the people of the Scripture, but they were not granted the meritorious victory.

3- The victory according to earthly laws:

The third type of victory is the one which is granted to one of the fighting parties according to laws on earth. If the two parties are as far from religion as the earth is from heaven, and if both of them are Kuffar, which party will defeat the other? The mightier will be granted victory according to the earthly laws.

4- The initiative victory:

If someone dies upon Tawheed, and he has a sound Aqeedah and is obedient to Allah, he is victorious although he dies. Such a victory is an initiative one. Let me now repeat the types of victory; the meritorious victory, the apter one, the one granted to the strongest according to the earthly laws and the initiative one.

I pray to Allah that our brother in Gaza who died in the Cause of Allah to be granted the initiative victory.

Making ready and having faith are two indispensable prerequisites to be victorious:

Dear brother, victory, the reasons which lead to it and the laws that rule it, is the topic which we are all in dire need of. You should be aware of the fact that dealing with Allah has its own rules which we should abide by, so no matter how long we make Du'a to Allah to grant us victory, we will not be victorious unless we have faith which keeps us obedient to Allah and we get ourselves ready against the enemy using all available means. If one of these conditions is not fulfilled, we will not be victorious:

((and (as for) the believers it was incumbent upon Us to help (them).))

[Ar-Rum, 47]

((And make ready against them all you can of power, including steeds of war (tanks, planes, missiles, artillery, etc.) to threaten the enemy of Allah and your enemy))

[Al-Anfal, 60]
