Lesson 12 – "O you who believe! Remember Allah with much remembrance."

In the Name of Allah, The Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Dear noble brothers, we are discussing a new lesson of this series about the Ayaat that start with, "O you who believe…", and the Ayah today is the following:

(O you who believe! Remember Allah with much remembrance.)

[Al-Ahzab, 41]

Dear brothers, Ibn Al-Qayyim, may Allah have mercy upon his soul, said, "Remembering Allah keeps Shaitan (Satan) away and suppresses him. It also pleases Allah, the Most Gracious, and gets you closer to Him. Furthermore, it removes uneasiness and distress from man's heart and brings about delight and happiness instead." Allah the Almighty says:

(Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest.)

[ [Ar-Ra'd, 28] ]

This Ayah is very delicate; it indicates that happiness lies in remembering Allah the Almighty, while the life of hardship is the result of turning away from remembering Allah the Almighty:

(Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest.)

[ [Ar-Ra'd, 28] ]
Allah the Almighty says in another Ayah:

(But whosoever turns away from My Reminder (i.e. neither believes in this Qur'an nor acts on its orders, etc.) verily, for him is a life of hardship, and We shall raise him up blind on the Day of Resurrection.)

[Ta-Ha, 124]

These are the words of the Creator, and thus, money, the beautiful wife, the high social position, and the good health, are not enough to bring man happiness. Allah, Exalted and Sublime be He, gives health, intelligence, wealth, beauty, and power, to many people, but He gives tranquility, which pacifies hearts, to His devotedly worshipping servants  in due measure.
