Interpretation of the Quran- Surat Al-Insan (076)- Lesson (4-5)- Ayat (20-27): Recompensing the believer and the disbeliever on the Day of Resurrection

In the Name of Allah, The Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Dear brother, this is the fourth lesson of interpreting Surat Al-Insan, and it might be the last one. We will start by interpreting Ayah No. 20.

﴾And round about them will (serve) boys of everlasting youth. If you see them, you would think them scattered pearls.﴿

[Al-Insan, 19]

Looking at the Noble Countenance of Alla is the best bliss in the Hereafter:

Everything in Paradise brings happiness, starting with the Gardens under which rivers flow, the fruits in bunches whereof will be low and near at hand, Al-Hur Al-Ayn (If a woman from among them were to look at the people of this earth, her radiant would surpass the light of the sun and the moon) and the boys of everlasting youth who serve them. All of these are graces of tangible nature. However, the more exalted bliss is to look at the Noble Countenance of Allah:

﴾For those who have done good is the best (reward, i.e. Paradise) and even more (i.e. having the honour of glancing at the Countenance of Allah) Neither darkness nor dust nor any humiliating disgrace shall cover their faces. They are the dwellers of Paradise, they will abide therein forever.﴿

[Yunus, 26]

﴾For those who have done good is the best﴿

They will be the dwellers of Paradise.

﴾ and even more﴿

It is a reference to the honor of looking at the Noble Countenance of Allah:

﴾Allah has promised to the believers -men and women, - Gardens under which rivers flow to dwell therein forever, and beautiful mansions in Gardens of 'Adn (Eden Paradise). But the greatest bliss is the Good Pleasure of Allah. That is the supreme success.﴿

[At-Taubah, 72]

Allah is with the believers:

You may look at something beautiful, but this thing might not look back at you. However, when the Almighty Allah is pleased with you, you will be granted the best thing among all creatures in this universe; it is the Pleasure of the Almighty Allah. You should know that the means to gain Allah's Pleasure are in your hands. When you feel that He is pleased with you in this worldly life, you will be the happiest man ever.

No feeling is compared to the feeling of gaining Allah's Pleasure, and no feeling brings happiness as the feeling of being obedient to Allah, being in the shade of Him, being under His Protection, being in the Divine Prosperity and deserving Allah's Victory. The feeling that Allah is with you, is indescribable one, for Allah is with the believers. When Allah, the Creator of universes, is with you, who can do harm to you by even a look? If Allah is with you, who can be against you, and if Allah is against you who can be with you?

If Allah abandons you, believe me that the closest people to you will abandon you as well. You may be humiliated in your house by the closest person to you, you may be let down by the unexpected closer man to you and you may experience unexpected things. On the other hand, if Allah is with you, He will make your fiercest enemies at your service, He will subjugate everything on earth to you and He will make His creatures love you. Beware, this love will turn into hatred if Allah abandons you. Keep in mind that whosoever fears Allah will be feared by everyone, and whosoever obeys Allah will be obeyed by everyone.

The tangible graces of Paradise:

Dear brother, there are tangible graces in Paradise, like Al-Hur Al-Ayn:

﴾These are the limits (set by) Allah (or ordainments as regards laws of inheritance), and whosoever obeys Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad, peace be upon him) will be admitted to Gardens under which rivers flow (in Paradise), to abide therein, and that will be the great success.﴿

[An-Nisa', 13]

﴾The description of the Paradise which the Muttaqun have been promised! -Underneath it rivers flow, its provision is eternal and so is its shade, this is the end (final destination) of the Muttaqun, and the end (final destination) of the disbelievers is Fire. (See Verse 47:15)﴿

[Ar-Ra'd, 35]

﴾There they will have all that they desire, and We have more (for them, i.e. a glance at the All-Mighty, All-Majestic).﴿

[Qaf, 35]

Whatever thought crosses your mind, will come true in Paradise and just in front of your eyes, and it will get renewed for eternity . Above all these tangible graces (in Paradise) there is the grace of looking at the Noble Countenance of Allah.

﴾Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant) * Looking at their Lord (Allah)﴿

[Al-Qiyamah, 22-23]

On top of all the above mentioned graces:

﴾But the greatest bliss is the Good Pleasure of Allah﴿

[At-Taubah, 72]

﴾And round about them will (serve) boys of everlasting youth. If you see them, you would think them scattered pearls.﴿

[Al-Insan, 19]

The believer is a great king in Paradise:

 Dear brother:

﴾And when you look there (in Paradise), you will see a delight (that cannot be imagined), and a great dominion.﴿

[Al-Insan, 20]

﴾And when you look﴿

Allah is addressing Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him:

﴾And when you look there (in Paradise),﴿

The Arabic adverb of place thamma which means there is used in this Ayah to refer to Paradise.

﴾And when you look there (in Paradise), you will see a delight (that cannot be imagined), and a great dominion.﴿

The believer's position in Paradise will be in a great dominion.

A place whose square is very huge is not called a house, a residence, a mansion or even a palace; it is called a great dominion. Once I visited a 20.000 square meter palace in Istanbul, the parlor alone is 2000 square meters. Five tons of gold are used for the adornments of the corridors, halls, bathrooms, bedrooms, guestrooms and inside arches. Such an indescribable place is called a great dominion.

Also, a great dominion is used to describe the wealth of a man who has hundred cars, planes of all sizes, lots of yachts in the sea, a mansion in every country and a palace in every beautiful place:

﴾And when you look there (in Paradise), you will see a delight (that cannot be imagined), and a great dominion.﴿

((I have prepared for My pious servants which no eye has ever seen, no ear has ever heard and no human heart has ever perceived.))

This is confirmed in Allah's Book:

﴾No person knows what is kept hidden for them of joy as a reward for what they used to do.﴿

[As-Sajdah, 17]

Benevolence is the price for Paradise:

Entering Paradise requires obeying Allah, worshiping Him and offering good deeds. Allah says:

﴾"Verily! Those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous deeds, shall have the Gardens of Al-Firdaus (the Paradise) for their entertainment* "Wherein they shall dwell (forever). No desire will they have to be removed therefrom."﴿

[Al-Kahf, 107-108]

These are Allah's words, not an author's words, a poet's fantasy or a genius's thoughts. They are the words of the Creator of this universe, and all you have to do is to pay the price (in order to get all that):

﴾Enter you Paradise, because of (the good) which you used to do (in the world)."﴿

[An-Nahl, 32]

They used to do the following:

﴾They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Lord (Allah) and praying, with fear and hope].﴿

[Adh-Dhariyat, 17]

﴾Verily, the Muttaqun will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise)* Taking joy in the things which their Lord has given them. Verily, they were before this Muhsinun (good-doers - see V.2:112).﴿

[Adh-Dhariyat, 15-16]

This is the price (that should be paid):

﴾Verily, they were before this Muhsinun (good-doers - see V.2:112)* They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Lord (Allah) and praying, with fear and hope]* And in the hours before dawn, they were (found) asking (Allah) for forgiveness* And in their properties there was the right of the beggar, and the Mahrum (the poor who does not ask the sh3er)* And on the earth are signs for those who have Faith with certainty, And also in your ownselves * Will you not then see?﴿

[Adh-Dhariyat, 16-21]

Ihsan (good deeds) is the price for these Gardens and everlasting bliss. Ihasn can be manifested in limitless ways; in the believer's moves, stills, words and behavior in his house. Also, the believer can be Muhsin at his work, with people around him and with people whose social position is higher than his and with those whose position is lower than his. Moreover, it is apparent in perfecting his work and saying good words. Besides, he can be Muhsin in his decency, in his modest cloths and in his humble looks. Thus, Ihsan, in fact, regulates every move one makes in this worldly life.

Your obedience doesn't match Allah's recompense:

Dear brother, the price you will pay doesn't match the commodity (Paradise) you want to buy. You are not asked to do much; all you have to do is to obey Allah during the limited years (you are going to live). Allah allows you to eat, to drink, to get married and to dwell in a house. However, you are supposed to do all the permissible things according to His Method.

Allah doesn't ask you to pray thousand Rak'at every day, but he asks you to pray your five prayers- a prayer doesn't take more than 20 minutes- Allah doesn't ask you to fast all year long, but he asks you to fast only in Ramadan and Allah doesn't ask you to offer Hajj every year, but he asks you to do that only once in your lifetime (while you can do Umrah once or more). All you have to do is to fast one month and pray your five daily prayers, so you can sleep for eight hours, work for another eight hours and have time to spend with your family. The acts of worship are within the ability of man: Al-Fajr is only two Rak'at (plus the two Sunnah Rak'at) and Zuhr is only four Rak'at (plus six [4+4] Sunnah Rak'at)

Allah doesn't forbid you from getting married, yet you are forbidden from committing Zina (fornication). Although, Allah forbids you from drinking wine, He gives you the permission to drink thousands of other drinks and countless kinds of fruit juice. Allah gives you the permission to eat thousands kinds of meat, yet He forbids you from eating bacon. Hence, if you follow His orders, you will be granted Paradise. Whoever is oblivious of the Paradise of the Almighty Allah is a fool.

The torment of the heedless in the Hereafter:

When the death angel comes to the heedless person (to take his soul), the latter will cry- out of regret- a very loud sound which might terrify all people of earth when they hear it:

﴾He will say: "Alas! Would that I had sent forth (good deeds) for (this) my life!"﴿

[Al-Fajr, 24]

﴾Lest a person should say: "Alas, my grief that I was undutiful to Allah (i.e. I have not done what Allah has ordered me to do), and I was indeed among those who mocked [at the truth! i.e. La ilaha ill-Allah (none has the right to be worshipped but Allah), the Qur'an, and Muhammad, peace be upon him, and at the faithful believers, etc.]﴿

[Az-Zumar, 56]

﴾"Ah! Woe to me! Would that I had never taken so-and-so as a friend!* "He indeed led me astray from the Reminder (this Qur'an) after it had come to me. And Shaitan (Satan) is ever a deserter to man in the hour of need."﴿

[Al-Furqan, 28-29]

These are words of remorse and regret which man utters out of fear and regret. We are alive, so we can hear (the cries of people before they die). What do people of Hellfire say? Pay attention to what people of Hellfire say while shouting:

﴾And they will say: "Had we but listened or used our intelligence, we would not have been among the dwellers of the blazing Fire!"﴿

[Al-Mulk, 10]

The Paradise of the worldly life and the one of the Hereafter:

If you listen to the truth and follow the guidance of the Almighty Allah, you will win the Paradise in the worldly life (by being close to Allah) and the Paradise of the Hereafter. Therefore:

﴾And when you look there (in Paradise), you will see a delight (that cannot be imagined),﴿

Having a mansion whose square is 120 meters and has 3 bedrooms and 3 living rooms, a farm, a villa by the sea and many cars for different purposes and for members of the family is nothing in comparison with the great dominion which Allah the Exalted mentions:

﴾And when you look there (in Paradise), you will see a delight (that cannot be imagined), and a great dominion.﴿

If a three year old boy tells you that he has a big sum of money, how much do you think he has? You think that it is no more than 25 Lira. If a wealthy man says the same, how much do you think his wealth is? You think that it is between 100 thousand and 7 millionLira. The Creator of the universe says to you:

﴾And when you look there (in Paradise), you will see a delight (that cannot be imagined), and a great dominion.﴿

A brother described to us the palace of a king which he visited in a western country. He said that the palace was in the middle of giant woodland. There are indescribable palaces in Europe, in East Asia. Also, in Istanbul there is Dolma Palace Bahjat which is 20 thousand square meters (20 donums). Its parlor alone is 2000 square meters, and the height of the ceiling is equal to the one of a whole building, and it is adorned entirely with gold.

I have mentioned these examples just to give you an idea about the following Ayah:

﴾And when you look there (in Paradise), you will see a delight (that cannot be imagined), and a great dominion.﴿

Allah says in a Qudsi Hadith:

((I have prepared for My pious servants which no eye has ever seen))

Obeying Allah is the price for Paradise:

Someone who uses to travel all around the world for tourism and has seen many palaces with the indescribable adornments, statues, marble and gold in them may think that the great dominion in Paradise looks like those palaces, but the truth is that the dominion in Paradise is much greater. The Qudsi Hadith goes as follows:

((I have prepared for My pious servants which no eye has ever seen, no ear has ever heard and no human heart has ever perceived))

The price for this Paradise is in your hands; you own it by obeying Allah, and being obedient to Allah is not beyond your scope.

The clothes of people of Paradise:

﴾And when you look there (in Paradise), you will see a delight (that cannot be imagined), and a great dominion* Their garments will be of fine green silk, and gold embroidery. They will be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord will give them a pure drink.﴿

[Al-Insan, 20-21]

People are in green luxurious cloths. The green color is very beautiful color, and it is the color of the clothes of people of Paradise.

﴾Their garments﴿

Their garments (in Paradise) will be of fine silk. There is fine silk and thick one.

﴾Their garments will be of fine green silk, and gold embroidery. They will be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord will give them a pure drink.﴿

The clothes, the jewelries and the drinks are luxurious. They (People of Paradise) will be said to them:

﴾(And it will be said to them): "Verily, this is a reward for you, and your endeavour has been accepted."﴿

[Al-Insan, 22]

Fearing Allah

As a married person, no law on earth will prevent you from looking at a woman other than your wife, yet when you lower your gaze out of fearing Allah, you are paying the price for Paradise. Likewise, lowering your gaze while you are in a road full of indecent women will be the price for Paradise. When you are offered a suspicious huge income (from Haram sources) or a job which displeases Allah, but you say, "I seek refuge with Allah, I fear Allah, Lord of the Worlds", you are paying the price for Paradise. You can earn huge amounts in the worldly life, and you can own millions by working on illegal paperwork or by accepting ill-gotten money, yet you say to that, "I seek refuge with Allah from that earning".

﴾He said: "I seek refuge in Allah (or Allah forbid)! Truly, he (your husband) is my master! He made my stay agreeable! (So I will never betray him). Verily, the Zalimun (wrong and evil-doers) will never be successful."﴿

[Yusuf, 23]

Paradise is the reward for the chaste virtuous believer:

I told you the following story many times, but I find it convenient to the topic of our lesson. A wealthy man in this nice city (Damascus) wanted to build a Masjid in a neighborhood where there was none. He looked for a suitable land and found one which was inherited only few months ago by a person who worked as a doorkeeper in an elementary school. That man used to earn 3000-4000 per month, he was married and he had eight children. He used to live in a very small old house, and that land was the only property he owned. The wealthy man met the owner of that land which he liked, and started bargaining with him. Both of them agreed that the land worth 3.5 million Lira, so the wealthy man wrote a check of 2 million Lira after they wrote the contract and said, "I will pay the rest when you officially transfer the ownership of this land at the Ministry of Religious Endowments (Ministry of Awqaf)." The owner of the land was surprised, so he asked, "What does the Ministry of Religious Endowments have to do with the land?" The wealthy man replied, " I want to build a Masjid on it." Upon that, the owner of the land cut the check into pieces and said, "I should with greater reason than yours dedicate this land for the sake of Allah" and he did. The wealthy man said to me, "I have never been in a situation in which I felt so little other than the one I was in before that man." He felt that his donation was nothing compared to that man's donation. The Masjid was built in a place called Ayshah's River, and till now a lot of goodness have come out of this Masjid. What do you think the reward of the owner of the land will be in the Hereafter? He will get endless palaces. What will the reward of the one who spends his money in Allah's Cause be? What will the reward of the one who acts upon Shari'ah be?

Mixed parties, forbidden social celebrations, immoral movies, immoral videos on satellite channels and the parties of the velvet class people prevail nowadays, but believe me, the believer who heads to the Masjid instead, the righteous husband, the good father, the good neighbor, the perfect worker, the sincere doctor, the honest engineer and the pious, trustful and chaste believer will be rewarded with a Paradise as wide as are the heavens and earth.

One will regret wasting time:

By Allah dear brother, if only we knew what the Prophet, peace be upon him, knew about the ongoing bliss prepared for the believers, none of us would sleep at night, because one will realize that every hour passes without being spent in remembering Allah is a waste of time, every hour passes without being spent in getting acquainted with Allah is a waste of time, every hour passes without being spent in drawing closer to Allah is a waste of time, every hour passes without being spent in offering a deed or money for the Sake of Allah is a waste of time, every meeting you have with sh3er without remembering Allah in it is a waste of time, every picnic you go for without remembering Allah in it is a waste of time and every assembly, party or banquet, that is held for showing off only, is a waste of time. The Prophet, peace be upon him, said:

((I see what you do not see, and I hear what you do not hear. The heaven is creaking and it should creak, for there is no space in it the width of four fingers but there is an angel there, prostrating to Allah. By Allah, if you knew what I know, you would laugh little and weep much, and you would never enjoy women in your beds, and you would go out in the streets, beseeching Allah. I wish I was a tree that could be cut off.))

[At-Tirmizi, by Abi Dharr]

The worldly life is the abode for those who have no abode:

The worldly life passes, and death comes to put an end to it. I compared it once to a car race and I compared death in the race to the indispensible end of it. Imagine that this race ends with a bottomless gap, and so all different cars, whether they are old or new, small or big, high quality or bad one and beautiful or ugly, will end up in the gap. Similarly, all people in the worldly life will die whether they are rich or poor- as you know the burial cloth has no pockets to put money or cheque book in- healthy or sick, strong or weak and oppressor or oppressed. They will all die at the end, so what kind of a race is this?

I know a person who inherited ninety million Lira, so he neglected his job in his shop and went through the paper work in order to take the money, but he died before he took even one cent of them. This is the worldly life; it is nothing but a carrion hunted down by dogs, it is just an abode for those with who have no abode and it is what only the insane seek.

 Dear brother:

﴾(And it will be said to them): "Verily, this is a reward for you, and your endeavour has been accepted."﴿

 Allah also says:

﴾And verily, your Lord will give you (all i.e. good) so that you shall be well-pleased.﴿

[Ad-Duha, 5]

Allah's Promises to the believers:

There is a Divine promise, Allah says:

﴾Is he whom We have promised an excellent promise (Paradise), which he will find true, like him whom We have made to enjoy the luxuries of the life of (this) world, then on the Day of Resurrection, he will be among those brought up (to be punished in the Hell-fire)?﴿

[Al-Qasas, 61]

Allah, the Creator of these universes, promises mankind to grant him Paradise, the ongoing bliss, the Paradise as wide as are the heavens and earth, the Divine Contentment and the glimpse at His Honored Countenance. Nevertheless, man is indifferent to these promises, and he does not fear the menaces. He acts according to his desires, curses this person, hits that one, takes the money of someone and so on. Committing all these wrongdoings is but foolishness, stupidity and misery:

﴾(And it will be said to them): "Verily, this is a reward for you, and your endeavour has been accepted."﴿

Consider the example of someone who persuaded an undutiful stray son to get back to his father, to gaining his contentment and to be a dutiful son again. How will the father feel towards that noble man who brought back his son to him? I am not exaggerating if I tell you that he will say, "I will never forget your favor as long as I live." That is because the man brought back his son to him. Can you imagine the Divine reward for someone who guided a heedless person to Allah and persuaded him of Islam, of uprightness, of repentance, of attending religious sessions regularly and of leaving sins? This kind of Da'wah is what the Prophets, peace be upon them, do.

Man is appreciated by Allah according his good deeds:

  Dear brother:

﴾And who is better in speech than he who [says: "My Lord is Allah (believes in His Oneness)," and then stands straight (acts upon His Order), and] invites (men) to Allah's (Islamic Monotheism), and does righteous deeds, and says: "I am one of the Muslims."﴿

[Fussilat, 33]

The most exalted person on earth, in the Sight of Allah, is the one who spreads the word of truth, who brings people back to Allah, who persuades them of uprightness and who encourages them to worship the Almighty Allah.

Dear brother, Allah appreicates people according to their good deeds, Allah says:

﴾Verily, Ibrahim (Abraham) was an Ummah (a leader having all the good righteous qualities), or a nation, obedient to Allah, Hanifa (i.e. to worship none but Allah), and he was not one of those who were Al-Mushrikun (polytheists, idolaters, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, and those who joined partners with Allah).﴿

[An-Nahl, 120]

You will be exalted in the Sight of Allah when you take part in persuading your brother, nephew, neighbor, son or colleague of uprightness, of knowing the Almighty Allah and of forsaking sins. After doing that, you are supposed to look after him, check on him, visit him, serve him, spend on him and take his hand towards the path of Allah. The following Ayah is very precise:

﴾And who is better in speech than he who [says: "My Lord is Allah (believes in His Oneness)," and then stands straight (acts upon His Order), and] invites (men) to Allah's (Islamic Monotheism), and does righteous deeds, and says: "I am one of the Muslims."﴿

[Fussilat, 33]

By Allah dear brother, I know some people who did a great job. They brought their partners, sons, relatives and old friends to the Masjid. As a result, all of them became committed to Islam, and they quit committing sins. This effort is great and blessed. You will never imagine how great your Divine reward will be if you take part in guiding someone to Allah.

Allah's bestowal to the upright person:

I would like you to consider the aforementioned example of the man who persuaded an undutiful stray son to get back to his father, to gain his contentment and to be a dutiful son again. How will the father feel towards that noble man who brought back his son to him? I am not exaggerating if I say that he will say, "I will never forget your favor as long as I live", and Allah is Ever All-Appreciative, All-Knowing.

﴾Why should Allah punish you if you have thanked (Him) and have believed in Him. And Allah is Ever All-Appreciative (of good), All-Knowing.﴿

[An-Nisa', 147]

Who will thank you for serving Allah's servants, being merciful to them, keeping them secure, being kind to them, giving them advice, honoring them, giving them Sadaqah, guiding them to Allah and supporting them? The Almighty Allah will. Preaching sh3er doesn't entail being a Khatib in a Masjid or being a famous missioner whom people know as a unique man. It is enough for you to persuade your neighbor of Islam, and it is enough for you to look after your son, brother, cousin and friend and to visit him, to make him listen to a religious lessons on CDs, to give him a religious book as a gift, to invite him to come with you to the Masjid, to follow up on him and to check on him. By doing this you will be taking part in guiding someone to Allah, and for this deed a Divine reward, that only Allah knows, is awaiting. Allah says:

﴾(And it will be said to them): "Verily, this is a reward for you, and your endeavour has been accepted."﴿

The profitable commerce:

The early Muslims spread Islam in China and in North Africa where Masajid are everywhere; in Morocco, or in Algeria, in Tunisia, in Libya, in Egypt and in Sudan. Half of the population in Africa embraced Islam, there are fifty million Muslims in China, ten million in USA and there are a thousand Masajid in France. What will the Divine reward for those who spread the truth, bring more people to Islam and were the reason of people's happiness be? This is the real commerce, prudence, prosperity, profitable act and success. When you offer something to sh3er, Allah will not forget you:

((As long as they (believers) worship Allah regularly in Masajid (and serve Allah's creations), Allah takes care of their affairs.))

The proof of that is: When you take part in serving Allah's creatures, Allah will exalt you by making you a patient servant, so you are exalted either by your good deeds or by being patient in calamities, but which one is better for you? As long as Allah wants you, you are subject of His mercy and you are granted your status in His Sight, you will achieve that status either by forgetting about your ego in order to offer good deeds and serve people, or by being patient.

By Allah, the first way is more wonderful, more perfect and more honored. Also, it is the way in which one finds more happiness, for when you leave your own interests behind and look after other creations, Allah will satisfy all your needs:

((O My servant! You desire (something) and I desire (something else). If you surrender to that which I desire, I suffice you concerning that which you desire; but if you refuse to surrender to that which I desire, I tire you out in that which you desire and then you get nothing but that which I desire.))

((O my servant, be to Me as I want and do not inform Me with what makes you better.))

This means: Do not bother yourself by telling Me what makes things better for you, for I know what satisfies you. Be to Me as I want and do not tell me what makes things better for you. When you favor fulfilling the needs of Allah's creations over fulfilling yours, Allah will take care of all your affairs in the worldly life. It was reported that the Prophet, peace be upon him, said:

((As long as they (believers) worship Allah regularly in Masajid (and serve Allah's creations), Allah takes care of their affairs.))

((Allah ordered the worldly life to serve those who serve the Cause of Allah, and use those who serve it instead of serving the Cause of Allah.))

 Hence:

﴾(And it will be said to them): "Verily, this is a reward for you, and your endeavour has been accepted."﴿

When you are under the special care of Allah, you will be excluded from whatever afflicts the heedless, the stray, the indulged (in the worldly pleasures) and the sinful.

Allah's Promises to the devoted believer:

﴾Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him We will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and We shall pay them certainly a reward in proportion to the best of what they used to do (i.e. Paradise in the Hereafter).﴿

[An-Nahl, 97]

﴾"But whosoever turns away from My Reminder (i.e. neither believes in this Qur'an nor acts on its orders, etc.) verily, for him is a life of hardship, and We shall raise him up blind on the Day of Resurrection."﴿

[Ta-Ha, 124]

﴾(And it will be said to them): "Verily, this is a reward for you, and your endeavour has been accepted."﴿

Man will be within Allah's Contentment looking forward for receiving what Allah has prepared for him.

A brother joked with me once saying, "What is so special about the believer? Does he not suffer from the same hardships people suffer from? He suffers hot weather, chilly climate, the difficulties of transportation, housing shortage and high prices just as the rest of people." I said to him, "Let me clarify this point for you. Suppose there is a poor employee who has eight children, his income is 3000 Lira, his house is leased and an evacuation lawsuit has been filed against him. In short, he is afflicted with all calamities in the world, but he has an uncle who owns 500 million Lira and has no children, and suddenly he died in an accident. Who is going to inherit these 500 million Lira? The poor wretched nephew, but the paperwork will take about a year before he can take one penny of that money. Despite his poverty and despite his inability to buy any new cloths or to change his house, he is the happiest person on earth, do you know why? That is because he is promised to get the 500 million Lira". Allah says:

﴾Is he whom We have promised an excellent promise (Paradise), which he will find true, like him whom We have made to enjoy the luxuries of the life of (this) world, then on the Day of Resurrection, he will be among those brought up (to be punished in the Hell-fire)?﴿

[Al-Qasas, 61]

If you are among those who are promised a Divine promise, then you will be a great man. Allah says:

﴾Their Lord gives them glad tidings of a Mercy from Him, and that He is pleased (with them), and of Gardens (Paradise) for them wherein are everlasting delights.﴿

[At-Taubah, 21]

Seeking the path of Divine guidance is man's salvation:

Dear brother, we should endeavor, hasten to Allah, seek Halal income and apply Islam in our houses and at work. When we do these things, we pay our dues and that is it. We don't have to worry about what sh3er do.

﴾Not upon you (Muhammad, peace be upon him) is their guidance, but Allah guides whom He wills. ﴿

[Al-Baqarah, 272]

Who are you to be compared to the Prophet, peace be upon him, who was addressed by Allah as follows?

﴾Not upon you (Muhammad, peace be upon him) is their guidance,﴿

﴾Verily! You (O Muhammad, peace be upon him) guide not whom you like, but Allah guides whom He wills. And He knows best those who are the guided.﴿

[Al-Qasas, 56]

﴾Verily, We have sent down to you (O Muhammad, peace be upon him) the Book (this Qur'an) for mankind in truth. So whosoever accepts the guidance, it is only for his ownself, and whosoever goes astray, he goes astray only for his (own) loss. And you (O Muhammad, peace be upon him) are not a Wakil (trustee or disposer of affairs, or keeper) over them.﴿

[Az-Zumar, 41]

﴾Verily, proofs have come to you from your Lord, so whosoever sees, will do so for (the good of) his ownself, and whosoever blinds himself, will do so to his own harm, and I (Muhammad, peace be upon him) am not a watcher over you.﴿

[Al-An'am, 104]

The duty of the Messenger is only to convey (the Message) plainly:

﴾So remind them (O Muhammad, peace be upon him), you are only a one who reminds* You are not a dictator over them.﴿

[Al-Ghashaiyah, 21-22]

This is the state of Prophethood:

﴾And the duty of the Messenger is only to convey (the Message) plainly. ﴿

[Al-Ankabut, 18]

His mission is only to convey (Allah's Message). As for you (as an ordinary person), you can gain happiness in the worldly life and in the Hereafter if you obey Allah. Therefore, you can at least gain your safety by obeying Allah and applying Islam in your house and at your work and that is it. After that, you can do whatever you want and avoid whatever you want since you have been guaranteed your safety.

﴾Verily! It is We Who have sent down the Qur'an to you (O Muhammad, peace be upon him) by stages* Therefore be patient (O Muhammad, peace be upon him) and submit to the Command of your Lord (Allah, by doing your duty to Him and by conveying His Message to mankind), and obey neither a sinner nor a disbeliever among them.﴿

[Al-Insan, 23-24] Allah's Beautiful Names are included in His Actions:

Dear brother, the Almighty Allah sometimes refers to His Divine Entity by using the singular pronoun, Allah says:

﴾"Verily! I am Allah! La ilaha illa Ana (none has the right to be worshipped but I), so worship Me, and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat) for My Remembrance.﴿

[Ta-Ha, 14]

﴾"Verily! I am Allah!﴿

This is how this Ayah is mentioned (singular pronoun) in Surat Ta-Ha:

﴾La ilaha illa Ana (none has the right to be worshipped but I), so worship Me, and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat) for My Remembrance.﴿

While it is mentioned as follows (in plural pronoun) in another Ayah:

﴾Verily! It is We Who have sent down the Qur'an to you (O Muhammad, peace be upon him) by stages.﴿

Some scholars commented on this in a convincing manner. They said, "When Allah refers to His Divine Sublime Entity, He uses the singular pronoun, but when He refers to His Great Actions, He uses the plural pronoun, because all His Beautiful Names are included in His Actions. Every Action of Allah embraces mercy, justice, wisdom, benignity and power. Also, in some cases Allah's Actions embrace omnipotence." His Actions embrace all His Beautiful Names, and that is why Allah uses plural pronoun when He refers to His Actions:

﴾Verily, We it is Who give life and cause death; and to Us is the final return,﴿

[Qaf, 43]

The Noble Prophet doesn't own revelation:

 In the following Ayah:

﴾Verily! It is We Who have sent down the Qur'an to you (O Muhammad, peace be upon him) by stages.﴿

Tanzeela "by stages" (in this Ayah) is in Arabic an unrestricted object which is used to confirm the verb. It means that the Quran is not a Book written by Muhammad, peace be upon him, but rather it is a revelation from Allah, and the Prophet, peace be upon him, did not own revelation nor did he have the ability to bring it or to avoid it. The proof of is: When his wife Ayshah, may Allah be pleased with her, was terribly accused (in her honor), the revelation took forty days before it was sent down, and the Prophet, peace be upon him, at that time was helpless, simply because he did not have the ability to bring revelation or to avoid it. Hence, the Quran is a revelation from Allah.
The wisdom behind the following Ayah:

﴾Verily! It is We Who have sent down the Qur'an to you (O Muhammad, peace be upon him) by stages. Therefore be patient (O Muhammad, peace be upon him) and submit to the Command of your Lord (Allah, by doing your duty to Him and by conveying His Message to mankind),﴿

This is an outstanding Ayah in which the Almighty Allah ordered the Noble Prophet, peace be upon him, to do the followings:

1- To be patient while carrying out Allah's orders

2- To be patient while forsaking Allah's prohibitions

3- To be patient while receiving Allah's Qada' (preordainment) and Qadar (predestination)

4- To be patient while facing the Kuffar (infidels)

Standing up against something sometimes entails patience and courage:

﴾Therefore be patient (O Muhammad, peace be upon him) and submit to the Command of your Lord (Allah, by doing your duty to Him and by conveying His Message to mankind﴿,)

Allah has ordained Salah, Sawm, Hajj, Umrah and Zakat, so be patient while offering them. Allah has forbid us from backbiting, so be patient while refraining from it. People find talking about other people maliciously interesting, amusing, and exciting, but Allah has forbid us from backbiting, so applying this needs patience. Allah has forbid us from lying and from committing sins. Therefore, be patient while obeying Allah, while controlling your desires and whenever you receive Allah's Qada' and Qadar and be patient when you call people to the Almighty Allah.

There will always be people who go against you, refute your (evidence), accuse (you) of doing something bad, undermine your knowledge and depreciate your dreams. It is narrated in some books that our Master Musa said, "O Lord, make me have no enemies."To which Allah said, "None can go on without having any enemies." No man lives without having another party who undermines him:

﴾Therefore be patient (O Muhammad, peace be upon him) and submit to the Command of your Lord (Allah, by doing your duty to Him and by conveying His Message to mankind﴿,)

You are supposed to be patient either while obeying Allah, controlling your desires, receiving Allah's Qada' and Qadar or while calling people to the Almighty Allah. There will always be people who go against you:

﴾Therefore be patient (O Muhammad, peace be upon him) and submit to the Command of your Lord (Allah, by doing your duty to Him and by conveying His Message to mankind), and obey neither a sinner nor a disbeliever among them.﴿

Sinners are of two kinds

Sinners are of two kinds: the Kuffar and the heedless. Unlike the Kafer whose Aqeedah is corrupted and is Kufr (infidelity), the heedless is a person who is indulged in sins, but has a sound Aqeedah. His behavior is corrupted, but he believes in Allah, in the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, and in the Hereafter.

You should obey none of them, for the first one says to you, "Did anyone come back from death and told us that there is a Hereafter?", whereas the second says to you while inviting you to a party, "Live your moment and don't be so strict, for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. Besides, you still have time to repent before the Day of Resurrection".

﴾And obey neither a sinner nor a disbeliever among them.﴿

Sometimes the Kuffar express their twisted ideas in order to undermine Islam, like when one of them says to you: "Having a religion is but a feeling; when man was weak and afraid of forces of nature, he resorted to religion, but now we live in the era of science in which everything is under control". These are words of infidels. On the other hand, people of lusts live for their desires, wealth, songs and meetings where men and women are mixed together. Those are sinners. Thus, obey neither a sinner nor a disbeliever among people:

﴾And obey not him whose heart We have made heedless of Our Remembrance, one who follows his own lusts and whose affair (deeds) has been lost.﴿

[Al-Kahf, 28]

﴾And follow the path of him who turns to Me in repentance and in obedience. Then to Me will be your return, and I shall tell you what you used to do. ﴿

[Luqman, 15]

Da'wah to Allah comes at high price:

While obeying Allah, controlling your desires, receiving Allah's Qada' and Qarad and calling people to the Almighty Allah patiently, you will face people who go against you and you will face troubles as well. Calling to Allah requires paying a high price for it, and the Prophet, peace be upon him, paid the highest price ever, for the Kuffar tried to kill him, to get him out (from his home, i.e. Makkah) and they tortured his Companions, but eventually he had got the Help of Allah and the conquest (of Makkah).

In times, Islam was on the line, and it was only hours before it is over in The Battle of the Trench (Ghazwat Al-Khandaq), and the situation was so desperate (to the hypocrites) to the point that one of them said, "You friend (Muhammad, peace be upon him) promises us the conquest of the states of Kisra and Qaisar, while one of us can't take a leak". Islam was about to be over, but the Prophet, peace be upon him, was patient. The Prophet, peace be upon him, was also patient when the Kuffar declared their intentions to kill him and promised to give the one who would bring him alive or dead one hundred camels:

﴾Therefore be patient (O Muhammad, peace be upon him) and submit to the Command of your Lord (Allah, by doing your duty to Him and by conveying His Message to mankind),﴿

Again, be patient while obeying Allah, be patient while controlling your desires, be patient while receiving Allah's Qada' and Qadar and be patient when you call people to the Almighty Allah. You should bear in mind that there will always be people who go against you, resist you, antagonize you and plot against you:

﴾Therefore be patient (O Muhammad, peace be upon him) and submit to the Command of your Lord (Allah, by doing your duty to Him and by conveying His Message to mankind), and obey neither a sinner nor a disbeliever among them.﴿

The first one is an infidel who believes only in secularism, while the other is a corrupted Fasiq (sinner).

Remembering Allah helps you hold firmly to Da'wah:

In order to do that, Allah says:

﴾And remember the Name of your Lord every morning and afternoon [i.e. offering of the Morning (Fajr), Zuhr, and 'Asr prayers].﴿

[Al-Insan, 25]

It is a reference to offering Fajr, Zuhr and Asr during the day. Zuhr is offered after the sun starts to incline from the middle of the sky.

﴾And during night, prostrate yourself to Him (i.e. the offering of Maghrib and 'Isha' prayers), and glorify Him a long night through (i.e. Tahajjud prayer).﴿

[Al-Insan, 26]

The Maghrib and Isha' are performed during the night. Accordingly, the prayers are five: Fajr, Zuhr, Asr, Maghrib and Isha':

﴾And during night,﴿

It is a reference to the night prayers as well.

The remorse of the heedless who deviated from the right path:

﴾And during night, prostrate yourself to Him (i.e. the offering of Maghrib and 'Isha' prayers), and glorify Him a long night through (i.e. Tahajjud prayer)* Verily! These (disbelievers) love the present life of this world, and put behind them a heavy Day (that will be hard).﴿

[Al-Insan, 26-27]

﴾Verily! These (disbelievers)﴿

 The heedless ones

﴾ love the present life of this world,﴿

Someone may go on for five hours talking about matters related to the worldly life even if this chat is in the street, and without giving any excuse to leave, but if you remind him of an Ayah he will say to you, "Excuse me I have an appointment to catch". Also, when you mention a Noble Hadith in front of a person like this, he will yawn. He will not hesitate to spend seven hours all ears while you are talking about currencies, houses, marriage, business, importing, exporting, traveling, voyages, five star hotels and wedding ceremonies, but the minute you start talking about a religious issue, he yawns and shows his carelessness, because he is not interested in such issues. Hence:

﴾Verily! These (disbelievers) love the present life of this world, and put behind them a heavy Day (that will be hard).﴿

In such a day, they forget all the pleasures of the worldly life, and they will be stunned:

﴾He will say: "Alas! Would that I had sent forth (good deeds) for (this) my life!"* So on that Day, none will punish as He will punish.﴿

[Al-Fajr, 24-25]

If someone said to you that he was invited to a thousand banquets, and all of them were excellent, but one night he had an unbearable toothache, and he was in a village where there was no dentist, in this case, will remembering these banquets relieve his pain? His present is miserable because of pain, and the beautiful past with all that tasteful food will be forgotten in a blink of an eye due to this unbearable pain.

Recompensing the believer and the disbeliever on the Day of Resurrection:

When the Kafer sees his seat in Hellfire, he will say, "I have never seen goodness in my entire life". Despite all his travels, the beautiful hotels he checks in, the vehicles he drives, the planes he flies by and the pleasures he is indulged in, the Kafer will say when he sees his seat in Hellfire, "I have never seen goodness in my entire life". On the other hand, the believer may lead a hard life in which he follows the Divine assignment, controls his desires and watches his senses, tongue, eyes and ears; he never listens to something against Islam, he never follows people's flaws and he never accepts Haram income even if he is offered million Lira of Haram source saying, "I fear Allah, Lord of the Worlds.". He is satisfied with his low income and small house, so when the angel of death comes to him, he will say, "I have never seen hardship".

Consider the example of a university student who has acquired the highest degree with honor, do you think he will remember the nights he spent till 4 am in the morning and the hard times he had when he had to ask his friend to explain to him something and use references and translate them in order to understand a subject? The ecstasy of success will make him forget all the hard work of the entire year.

Gaining Allah's Contentment is the utmost purpose of man:

The ecstasy of gaining Allah's Contentment will make you forget all the hardships in the worldly life, and the misery of watching the terrifying destiny of someone will make you forget all the pleasures of the worldly life. Thus:

﴾And during night, prostrate yourself to Him (i.e. the offering of Maghrib and 'Isha' prayers), and glorify Him a long night through (i.e. Tahajjud prayer)* Verily! These (disbelievers) love the present life of this world, and put behind them a heavy Day (that will be hard).﴿

[Al-Insan, 26-27]

Supplication:

In the Name Of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord (The One and Only) of the Worlds, and blessings and peace be upon our Master, Prophet Muhammad, the faithful and the honest. O Allah, help us remember You, expressing gratitude to You and worship You in the best manner. Bestow upon us a longing to meet with You and the bliss of seeing Your Honorable Countenance.
O Allah, show us the righteous things as righteous and help us do them, and show us the bad things as bad and help us keep away from them. O Allah our Lord, make us amongst those who listen to the Word and follow the best meaning of It, and admit us, by Your Grace, to the ranks of Your righteous servants.
O Allah make our meeting today a merciful and blessed one, make our disperse after it an infallible one and let not any of us be miserable or deprived (of Your mercy). O Allah, grant Your peace and blessings to our Master Muhammad, peace be upon him, to his Folks and to his Companions.
