Radio Sermon (22): Birth of the prophet

In the Name of Allah, The Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Forward:

1-    There is an urgent need of the guidance of the noble prophet:

O my Master, Allah's Messenger, after few days, we will celebrate the anniversary of your noble birthday. We would like to tell you that we are in dire need of your Divine Guidance which becomes strongly established day after day, we are in dire need of your noble Sunnah which is the right method and the Straight Path, and we are in dire need of your exalted morals, O my Master, Allah's Messenger, which become brighter the more we analyze and reflect on them.

2-    Allah's praises to the Prophet, peace be upon him:

O my Master, Allah's Messenger, Allah the Almighty praises your reason when He says:

(Your companion (Muhammad PBUH) has neither gone astray nor has erred.)

[An-Najm, 2]

He praises your tongue when He says:

(Nor does he speak of (his own) desire.)

[An-Najm, 3]

Allah the Almighty praises your Shari'ah when He says:

(It is only an Inspiration that is inspired.)

[An-Najm, 4]

Allah the Almighty praises, the one who taught you when He says:

(He has been taught (this Qur'an) by one mighty in power [Jibrael (Gabriel)].)

[An-Najm, 5]

Allah the Almighty praises your heart when He says:

(The (Prophet's) heart lied not (in seeing) what he (Muhammad PBUH) saw.)

[An-Najm, 11]

Allah the Almighty praises your sight when He says:

(The sight (of Prophet Muhammad PBUH) turned not aside (right or left), nor it transgressed beyond (the) limit (ordained for it).)

[An-Najm, 17]

Allah the Almighty also praises your character when He says:

(And verily, you (O Muhammad PBUH) are on an exalted standard of character.)

[An-Qalam, 4]

He swore by your precious lifespan when He says:

(Verily, by your life (O Muhammad PBUH), in their wild intoxication, they were wandering blindly.)

[Al-Hijr, 72]

A poet said:

The truth is you, and you are the rising of guidance
The Book of eternal pages has been sent to you
Whoever seeks the worldly life without your guidance
Will be lost in its disasters and darkness

3-    The Noble Prophet's good morals:

O my Master, Allah's Messenger, when you were a little child, you never share other children their games and toys, but rather whenever other children who were at your age asked you to play with them and have some fun, you would say:

(I was not created for this purpose)

When you received the Message of guidance and were told that it was a trust you had to bear, and you had to convey to others, you told your wife about it, and when she asked you to get some rest, you responded:

(O Khadijah, the time for sleep and rest is over)

When you opened Makkah after being forced to leave it by its people who hurt you, conspired against you and plotted to kill you, you were merciful to them although you were victorious over them, and you said the words which decided their destiny at that time:

(Go, you are free.)

When the Arabian Peninsula was under your control after the Help of Allah came to you against your enemies and the conquest (of Makkah), and the people entered Allah's religion (Islam) in crowds, you ascended the pulpit and said:

(Whoever I had whipped his back here is my back, let him retaliate! Whoever I had cursed his honor, here is my honor let him curse it!  Whoever I had taken some money from him here is my money, let him take from it.)

O my beloved, Messenger of Allah, you once were praying with your companions, but you performed your Salah quickly which was unusual whenever you were connected with your Lord, and the reason was the crying of a little baby whose mother was praying after you in the Masjid. The baby needed his mother to breastfeed him, so you finished your Salah hastily out of mercy to the infant.

O my Master, Allah's Messenger, you used to sympathize with the animal which was overburdened, and you used to help your companions by collecting the woods in your travels to cook the food to them.

Indeed, O my Master, Messenger of Allah, you are as described by one of the companions who said, "He had the most generous of hands, and his chest was the boldest of all. He was the most truthful of people in speech and the most trustworthy in liability. He was the most lenient of people in disposition, and the kindest of them in social companionship."

The king of Oman spoke the truth about you after he met you. He said, "What attracted me about that illiterate Prophet was that whenever he orders people to things, he will be the first one to do those orders, and whenever he forbids them from doing things, but he will be the first one to refrain from doing them. Whenever he is victorious, he will not behave like a tyrant, and whenever he is defeated, he would never give up. Moreover, he always fulfill his promises and never breaks his vows."

O my Master, Messenger of Allah, your companions saw all your noble traits and good morals with their own eyes. They saw your purity and chastity, your faithfulness and steadfastness, your bravery and firmness, your exaltedness and compassion, and your reason and eloquence. They noticed how your perfection was as shining as the sun in the middle of the day.

Birth Anniversary of the Noble Prophet:

1-    The Prophet's birthday is the emergence of the light:

Dear believing brothers, Rabi'i al-Awwal is the month when Allah's Messenger, the Prophet of guidance and mercy, peace be upon him, was born. In Islamic Aqeedah Prophets and Prophethood are essential, and I would like to highlight this point let me mention some issues.

Allah the Almighty has created man in the best stature, and He has honored him greatly when He entrusted him with the Divine Assignment after providing him with its constituents. These constituents are the universe which manifests Allah's Existence, Oneness, Perfection, and Bounty, the reason whose principles are in accordance with the norms of the universe, and which is the tool of acquiring knowledge, and which is the basis of responsibility, and the sound Fitrah which uncovers to man his faults, desires that elevate him if he fulfills them legally, freedom of choice which is rectified and evaluated,  and power that enables man to perform things and disclose his inner self, and the detailed method that protects man from wrongdoings and helps him achieve the purpose of his existence.

Nonetheless, man sometimes forgets his mission and duty, when his desires overcome him and his caprices overwhelm him, and so he ends up heading towards destruction while thinking that he is acquiring good by his deeds. Although man does these bad deeds, Allah the Almighty has created him to be admitted to Paradise, which is as wide as the heavens and the earth, and wherein there are things that no eye has ever seen, no ear has ever heard of, nor a human heart has ever think of. Therefore, due to His Mercy upon man, Allah the Almighty addresses him from time to time, reminding him of his mission, demonstrating the method he is supposed to follow, and warning him of the evil consequences of his carelessness and heedlessness. Based on these facts, and since only those who are the most exalted people in their characters among others can convey the Revelation to the rest of mankind, Allah the Almighty chose the Prophets to accomplish such a mission. Allah the Almighty says:

(Allah chose Adam, Nuh (Noah), the family of Ibrahim (Abraham) and the family of 'Imran above the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns) (of their times).)

[Aal-'Imran, 33]

The Prophets and the Messengers were chosen to be good examples to people to follow, and the Imams, Du'aat, the guiding and the guided people followed their steps and continued the mission to guide people to Allah.

2-    The Noble Prophet is a human being like all mankind:

The Prophet, peace be upon him, would never have been able to convey his Message with the language of his people had he not been a human being . Allah the Almighty says:

(And We sent not a Messenger except with the language of his people, in order that he might make (the Message) clear for them. Then Allah misleads whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.)

[Ibrahim, 4]

Allah the Almighty also says:

(And We sent not a Messenger except with the language of his people, in order that he might make (the Message) clear for them. Then Allah misleads whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.)

[Ibrahim, 4]

No Prophet would have been able to convey his Message had he not had the characteristics of mankind, and due to this fact, his victory over his ownself made him a good example to human race. Accordingly, the Noble Prophet had accomplished the mission of being a role model in addition to the mission of conveying the Message.

In fact the sayings, deeds, approvals and traits of the Prophet, peace be upon him, are considered Sunnah. Allah the Almighty says:

(And verily, you (O Muhammad PBUH) are on an exalted standard of character.)

[An-Qalam, 4]

Allah the Almighty says in another Surah:

(And by the Mercy of Allah, you dealt with them gently. And had you been severe and harsh-hearted, they would have broken away from about you; so pass over (their faults), and ask (Allah's) Forgiveness for them; and consult them in the affairs. Then when you have taken a decision, put your trust in Allah, certainly, Allah loves those who put their trust (in Him).)

[Aal-'Imran, 159]

3-    Having an enemy as a Prophet is one of the Divine Laws:

When the Noble Prophet, peace be upon him, started to convey Aqeedah and the Divine Method which belies the misguidance and deviations of people, the deniers of his Message rejected applying Allah's Method since it is against their desires and transgression. Not to mention, they denied the Message of the Prophet, peace be upon him. Allah the Almighty says:

(And those who disbelieve, say: "You (O Muhammad PBUH) are not a Messenger." Say: "Sufficient for a witness between me and you is Allah and those too who have knowledge of the Scripture (such as 'Abdullah bin Salam and other Jews and Christians who embraced Islam).")

[Ar-Ra'd, 43]

4-    The miracle supports the Prophet's Message:

Allah the Almighty testifies before mankind that our Master (Muhammad, peace be upon him) is a Prophet and a Messenger, and that he spoke the truth, so His testimony before mankind was manifested in a miracle that supported the Messenger, peace be upon him. Such a miracle could never be performed by anyone and it had to be about something his people were excellent at, so that the challenge would be noticed and the proof would be proved.

The miracles of the Prophets, peace be upon them, who were sent before Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, were tangible, and they were restricted to a specific time and space. Thus, they were the center of attention when they first appeared, but later on, they became pieces of news who people believe or disbelieve. Unlike these miracles, the miracle of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, who is the Seal of all Prophets, peace be upon them, has continued to be witnessed by all mankind whenever and wherever till the Day of Resurrection. It is a rational eloquent miracle, which is the Noble Quran.

The Noble Quran contains rhetorical, scientific, legislative and informative inimitability. Besides, the more science progresses the more aspects of the Quran inimitability are discovered. Allah the Almighty says:

(We will show them Our Signs in the universe, and in their ownselves, until it becomes manifest to them that this (the Qur'an) is the truth. Is it not sufficient in regard to your Lord that He is a Witness over all things?)

[Fussilat, 53]

With reason man is able to believe that there should be a creator to this universe Who is a Sustainer and a Wise Handler of all affairs. Besides, He is One in Character, Beautiful Names, Attributes and Actions.

With reason, man is able to come up with a conclusion that this Quran is the Words of Allah the Almighty through the inimitability it contains. Moreover, with his reason man believes that the one to whom the miraculous Quran has been sent is Allah's Messenger.

Allah the Almighty tells man in the Quran about the things that his mind cannot comprehend. Furthermore, He tells him about the creation of the heaven and the earth and the truth about the worldly life and the Hereafter. Also, He tells man about his creation; were he used to be and what his destiny will be. Allah the Almighty tells man about the purpose of his existence on earth, the mission he is assigned to accomplish and the method he should act upon in order to assert his ownself and achieve his happiness in the worldly life and in the Hereafter.

Actually, religion is rational and informative. It is rational since it involves man's reason to get acquainted with Allah and to verify what has been conveyed to him from the Divine Texts and to understand it. Religion is about transferring things that are hidden from man's reason, that cannot be comprehend by it, and that guarantee safety and happiness to him.

This is the main points in brief about Prophethood and the Prophets, peace be upon them. Since we are in Rabi'i al-Awwal, the month when our Prophet, peace be upon him, the most prominent part we can mention of the selected Prophet's biography is his noble traits.

Why should we mention the noble traits of the Prophet?

Dear noble brothers wherever you might be, why should we mention the noble traits of the Prophet, peace be upon him? Well, Allah the Almighty has sent him to us to be our good example to follow.

1-    The connection between religious commitment and good morals:

Cultivating morality is the main target of the Prophet's Message:

There is an essential closely related connection between being religiously committed and having good morals. Regarding this point, the Prophet, peace be upon him, clarified the major purpose and the perfect method of his Da'wah

(Imam Malik narrated that the Prophet, peace be upon him, said, "Verily I have been sent as a teacher.")

He, peace be upon him, also said:

(I was sent (by Allah) to perfect the sublime manners)

Accordingly, the main purpose of the Prophet's Da'wah is establishing the good morals of the individual and the society, because man's morality is the price he pays to be pleased in the worldly life and in the Hereafter, and the best means to establish them is teaching others without being violet while doing so. The Prophet, peace be upon him, said:

(Instruct other people and never rebuke them while you do so as the instructor is better than the rebuker.)

Whoever reads the Quran and the Ahadeeth of the Noble Sunnah attentively will notice that such a connection between the right religious commitment and man's morality is necessary. Allah the Almighty says:

(Have you seen him who denies the Recompense?* That is he who repulses the orphan (harshly)* And urges not the feeding of AlMiskin (the poor)* So woe unto those performers of Salat (prayers) (hypocrites)* Who delay their Salat (prayer) from their stated fixed times* Those who do good deeds only to be seen (of men)* And refuse Al-Ma'un (small kindnesses e.g. salt, sugar, water, etc.).)

[Al-Maa'oon, 1-7]

Allah the Almighty also says:

(But if they answer you not (i.e. do not believe in your doctrine of Islamic Monotheism, nor follow you), then know that they only follow their own lusts. And who is more astray than one who follows his own lusts, without guidance from Allah? Verily! Allah guides not the people who are Zalimun (wrong-doers, disobedient to Allah, and polytheists).)

[Al-Qasas, 50]

Pay attention to the following Hadith, please:

(Narrated Anas: The Prophet, peace be upon him, delivered a Khutbah in which he said: "…indeed, who has no honesty has no faith, and who isn't faithful to his promises isn't faithful to his religion.)

[At-Tabrani and Al-Bayhaqi in Sunan, on the authority of Anas]

Furthermore, the Prophet, peace be upon him, said:

(Modesty and belief are together. If one of them is removed, the other is removed.)

[Al-Hakem]

It was said, "Faith is the basis of virtues, the bridles of vices, and the foundation of consciences."

(Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said, "Do you know who is the bankrupt?" They said: "The bankrupt among us is one who has neither money with him nor any property". He said, "The real bankrupt of my Ummah would be he who would come on the Day of Resurrection with Salat, Saum and Sadaqah (charity), (but he will find himself bankrupt on that day as he will have exhausted the good deeds) because he reviled others, brought calumny against others, unlawfully devoured the wealth of others, shed the blood of others and beat others; so his good deeds would be credited to the account of those (who suffered at his hand). If his good deeds fall short to clear the account, their sins would be entered in his account and he would be thrown in the (Hell) Fire".)

[Muslim]

2-    "Verily, the best people in Islam are those with the best character"

The Prophet, peace be upon him, mentioned the following facts in different Ahadeeth:

(Verily, the best people in Islam are those with the best character.)

(The most perfect believer in respect of faith is he who is best of them in manners.)

(The most beloved servants of Allah to Allah are those who have the best temper.)

(Verily, the most beloved and nearest to my gathering on the Day of Resurrection are those of you with the best character.)

(…The best thing man is given is good morals.)

(Nothing is heavier upon the scale of the believer on the Day of Resurrection than his good character.)

(Verily, the believer may reach through his good character the status of one who regularly fasts and prays at night.)

(Good morality melts the sins just like water melts the ice, and immorality spoils good deeds as vinegar spoils honey.)

Some extracts from the noble traits of the Prophet, peace be upon him:

Below are some incidents in which the noble traits of the Prophet, peace be upon him, are manifested:

1-    His care for his companions:

I would like to mention an incident where the Prophet's care for his companions and his modesty while treating them are manifested.  Al-Hakem narrated:

(Once, the Prophet was sitting with his Companions. Meanwhile, Jarir arrived. Somehow, nobody showed him a place to sit. The Prophet, peace be upon him, looked at his left and right. He looked for a place for him to sit. When he could not find a place, he took of his robe and said to Jarir, "Sit on this." Jarir took the robe, folded and kissed it, and he wept. Then, he returned it to the Messenger of Allah. He expressed his gratitude by saying, "May Allah honor you as you have honored me." The Prophet said to his Companions, "If there comes to you a man who is respected among his own people, then honor him.")

Here is another incident:

(Then we went to his home. There he took a leather pillow stuffed with dry grass, gave it to me, and said, "Sit on this!" I was ashamed and said, "No, you sit on it." He said, "No, you." I obeyed and sat on it while Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) sat on the ground since there was no other pillow in his home. I told myself, "By Allah, this is not the way a king behaves!" then I said to him, "I bear witness that you do not want to be a tyrant on earth, nor do you want to cause mischief on it.)

After this meeting with the Prophet, peace be upon him, Adi embraced Islam.  One more example of his modesty and care for others is the following noble stance:

(It was reported on the authority of Abi-Qatadah: When Negus' envoys came to the Noble Prophet, he personally received them. His companions said, "We are prepared to receive them in your behalf", but the Noble Prophet said, "When our companions had gone there, they were honored. Therefore, I would like to recompense too.)

[Ibn Abi Ad-Dunya in High Morals, on the authority of Abi Qatadah]

2-    His mercy towards animals:

Here is an incident that shows his mercy towards creations:

(Abd Allah bin Ja'far said "The Apostle of Allah, peace be upon him, seated me behind him (on his ride) one day, and told me secretly a thing asking me not to tell it to anyone. The place for easing dearer to the Apostle of Allah, peace be upon him, was a mound or host of palm trees by which he could conceal himself. He entered the garden of a man from the Ansar (Helpers). All of a sudden when a Camel saw the Prophet, peace be upon him, it wept tenderly producing yearning sound and it eyes flowed. The Prophet, peace be upon him, came to it and wiped the temple of its head. So it kept silence. He then said, "Who is the master of this Camel?" A young man from the Ansar came and said, "This is mine, Apostle of Allah." He, peace be upon him, said, "Do you not fear Allah about this beast which Allah has given in your possession. It has complained to me that you keep it hungry and load it heavily which fatigues it.")

[Al-Hakem in Mustadrak]

3-    His justice:

Pay attention to the following Hadith:

(Narrated Aishah, may Allah be pleased with her: The people of Quraish worried about the lady from Bani Makhzum who had committed theft. They asked, "Who will intercede for her with Allah's Apostle?" Some said, "No one dare to do so except Usama bin Zaid the beloved one to Allah's Apostle ." When Usama spoke about that to Allah's Apostle Allah's Apostle said, (to him), "Do you try to intercede for somebody in a case connected with Allah's Prescribed Punishments?" Then he got up and delivered a sermon saying, "What destroyed the nations preceding you, was that if a noble amongst them stole, they would forgive him, and if a poor person amongst them stole, they would inflict Allah's Legal punishment on him. By Allah, if Fatima, the daughter of Muhammad stole, I would cut off her hand.")

[Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

4-    His patience:

His patience, peace be upon him, is presented in the following Hadith narrated by Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, on the authority of Imam Ahmad and At-Tirmithi:

(Indeed I have feared for the sake of Allah, such that no one has feared, and I have been harmed for the sake of Allah, such that no one has been harmed. Thirty days and nights have passed over me, and there was no food with Bilal and I forced something with a liver to eat, except what Bilal could conceal under his armpit.)

5-    His bravery:

Our Master Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, mentioned his courage, peace be upon him, by saying, "By Allah, when the battle grew fierce, we would seek protection behind him, and [only] the bravest among us could stand by his side [in battle]."

6-    His fear of Allah:

His fear of Allah is clear in the following Hadith:

(Umm Salama, may Allah be pleased with her, reported that the Prophet, peace be upon him, was in his house and called for a slave of his (or hers) and she was slow in coming. The anger showed in his face. Umm Salama went to the curtain and found the slave girl playing. He had a siwak-stick with him and said, '"Were it not that I fear retaliation on the Day of Resurrection I would hurt you with this siwak.")

[Al-Adab al-Mufred by al-Bukhari]

7-    His reverence:

Some of the companions described the Prophet, peace be upon him, as, "He had great qualities and attributes in him, others also held him in high esteem. His blessed face used to shine like the full moon.  Whoever sees him for the first time becomes awe-inspired, but when he talks to him and knows him well will love him."

(It was narrated that Ibn Mas'ud said: "A man came to the Prophet, peace be upon him, so he spoke to him, and he started to tremble with awe. He said to him: 'Take it easy. I am not a king; I am just a man whose mother ate dried meat'.")

[Ibn Majah]

8-    His modesty:

Regarding his modesty, he was the most modest person, because he was the greatest in faith among others. Pay attention to the following Hadith:

(Ibn 'Umar (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, passed by a man of the Ansar who was admonishing his brother regarding modesty. Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said, "Leave him alone, for modesty is a part of Iman.")

[Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

He, peace be upon him, used to be more modest than the virgin in her closet. His modesty reached such an extent that he never said what made him angry with anyone. May Allah have mercy upon the poet who praised the Master of mankind, peace be upon him, in the following verses:

O you whose morals are transcendental,
to which the noble are attracted.
Your generosity is the best ever, and it is unprecedented
When you forgive, you do so while you are able and powerful.
Even the ignorant never underestimate your forgiveness
Your mercy upon someone is like that of the mother or father,
who are the most merciful in this worldly life.
When you get angry, it is for the sake of the truth,
neither out of rancor nor of out hatred.
When you deliver a speech,
pulpits shake hearts and cause men to cry.
O you illiterate Prophet! It is an enough scientific degree
that all scholars are indebted to you.

Dear believing brothers, these are some of the noble traits of the Prophet, peace be upon him, which we are supposed to have since the Prophet, peace be upon him, is the good example sent to us to follow.

O Allah our Lord, teach us what is useful for us, let us make use of what You have taught us and advance us in knowledge.

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds.

The 2nd Khutbah:

I bear witness that there is no Deity worthy of worship except Allah, and He is the Wali (protector) of Saliheen (righteous people), and I bear witness that our Master Muhammad PBUH, the one with the exalted conducts, is Allah's Servant and Messenger. O Allah our Lord, have peace and blessings upon our Master Muhammad, his Folks and his Companions.

Completing the noble traits of the Noble Prophet:

9-    His forgiveness:

His forgiveness was manifested when he forgave Safanah the daughter of Hatim At-Ta'i.

When  Allah's Messenger passed by the captives, Safanah stood up politely and said, "O Messenger of Allah! The father passed away and the supporter is absent, so do have mercy upon me, so that Allah would have mercy upon you. Please, set me free, and do not let the Arabs rejoice at my misfortune, for my father was the master of his people. He used to release the captives, forgive the offenders, protect the neighbors and relatives, relieve the grieved, give food to others, strive for peace, and help the needy, the tired and the distressed. He never let down anyone who came asking for his help. I am the daughter of Hatim at-Ta'i."

Upon hearing that, the Prophet, peace be upon him, said, "O young woman, these are truly the attributes of true believers." Then he, peace be upon him, said, "Let her go, for her father used to have exalted morals." After that he, peace be upon him, said, "Be merciful to the noble man if he gets humiliated, to the rich man if he becomes poor, and to the scholar if he gets lost among the ignorant."

Then she asked for his permission to make Du'a to Allah for him. She said, "May Allah allow you achieve the purposes of your deeds, may He not make you in need of an ignoble wicked person, and may He not deprive an honored man of a grace unless he makes you a reason for restoring it back to him."

She returned to her people and said to her brother Adi, "You should go and meet that man, for I found in him guidance, good qualities and prudence. He overcomes those who overcome. Also, I admired the noble traits I noticed in him; he loves the poor, releases the captive, have mercy upon children and respect the elderly. I have never seen anyone more generous than him. I think you must join him quickly. If he is a Prophet, the people near him will be preferred. If he is just a king, you will never be humiliated there, being who you are."

It was reported that she embraced Islam later on and her brother listened to her advice. He said:

I prepared myself and left south for Madinah. I reached the Prophet (peace be upon him) with no guarantee of protection. I knew that he had said, "I hope Allah will put the hand of 'Adi in my hand."

I entered the Masjid and gave him my greetings. He said, "Who is this man?" I said, '''Adi ibn Hatim at-Ta'i." He stood up, held my hand, and took me home with him. On our way, an old frail woman with a little boy stopped him with a complaint. He spoke with her for some time, until her problem was solved. I then thought to myself, "By Allah, this is no king."

Then we went to his home. I told myself, "By Allah, this is not the way a king behaves!"

The Prophet (peace be upon him) turned to me and said, "You are not a very good Christian are you?" said very humbly, "Why do you say that?" "Weren't you taking a quarter of the belongings of the people for yourself, although that is forbidden in your religion?" I said, "Yes," and then I knew that he was a Prophet sent by Allah, for how else could he know that I did such a thing?

Then he (peace be upon him) said, Maybe, 'Adi, what you see of the poverty of the Muslims is keeping you from entering Islam. By Allah, soon so much money will flow in that there won't be any to take it. Or maybe, 'Adi, what is keeping you is the small number of Muslims and the great number of their enemies. By Allah, soon you will hear that a woman can come from Qadisiyyah (a village in Iraq) to visit the Ka'bah on her own and no one will bother her. Or maybe you see power and authority with the great emperors. By Allah, soon you will hear that Muslims have conquered Iraq with its castles and that the treasures of Khosraw son of Hormuz belong to them." I said, "The treasures of Khosraw son of Hormuz?" He said, "Yes, the treasures of Khosraw son of Hormuz." Thereupon I made the Shahadah and became Muslim.

'Adi ibn Hatim at-Ta'i  lived a long time after that and he used to say, "Two of the Prophet’s predictions have come true, and the third yet remains. By Allah, I swear it too will come true. "I have seen women coming from Iraq to Makkah on camels, on their own, unafraid to make the Hajj, fearing nothing but Allah, and I was among the first troops that attacked Khosraw and opened the treasures of his castles. I swear by Allah, the third is coming!" The third prediction of the Blessed Prophet (peace be upon him) came to pass at the time of the pious Khalifah 'Umar Ibn 'Abd al-'Aziz. The Muslims' wealth was so abundant that they used to call for poor to take Zakah and nobody came to take it.
