An-Naseer is one of Allah's Most Beautiful Names:

We are discussing the manifestations of An-Naseer (The Helper) in Ramadan.

In Some Ayat, this Name is mentioned to indicate its absolute meaning and the Perfect Description. It is an exaggerated form that refers to two main things: 

1-    Exaggeration in quantity. 
2-    Exaggeration in quality. 

This means that no matter how the enemy is powerful, Allah the Almighty is An-Naseer, and no matter how huge the number of the enemy is, Allah the Almighty is An-Naseer.

The Ayat in which this Name is mentioned:

Allah the Almighty says:  

(And hold fast to Allah [i.e. have confidence in Allah, and depend upon Him in all your affairs] He is your Maula (Patron, Lord, etc.), what an Excellent Maula (Patron, Lord, etc.) and what an Excellent Helper!)

[Al-Hajj, 78]

In another Ayah, Allah the Almighty says: 

(And if they turn away, then know that Allah is your Maula (Patron, Lord, Protector and Supporter, etc.), (what) an Excellent Maula, and (what) an Excellent Helper!)

[Al-Anfal, 40]

The rules of Victory: 

This Name is also mentioned in a Du'a of the Prophet, peace be upon him. 

(Anas bin Malik narrated: The Prophet, peace be upon him, used to make this Du'a whenever he had a battle: "O Allah, You are my Strength, and You are my Helper. For Your Sake, I go forth, for Your Sake I advance and for Your Sake I fight.")

Victory is from Allah Alone: 

The first rule of victory is that victory is from Allah Alone, so when Muslims mistakenly think that victory is from so and so person, they are deluded since Allah the Almighty says: 

(And there is no victory except from Allah, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.)

[Aal-'Imran, 126]

Who can defeat you if Allah supports you? Who can benefit you if Allah abandons you? 

Types of victory:

1-    The deserved victory: 

There is a deserved victory that the believer deserves when his actions and manners reflect his true faith. Hence, scholars called it the deserved victory which is proven by Allah the Almighty in the following Ayah:    

(And Allah has already made you victorious at Badr, when you were a weak little force.)

[Aal-'Imran, 123]

This means that it is from Allah Alone, but it requires some conditions. What are these conditions? The first condition is having faith:   

(And (as for) the believers it was incumbent upon Us to help (them).)

[Ar-Rum, 47]

The second condition is making ready against the enemy: 

(And make ready against them all you can of power)

[Al-Anfal, 60]

Due to Allah's Mercy upon us, He orders us to prepare the available weaponry and equipment not the equivalent ones to that of the enemy. 

When I believe in Allah in a way that keeps me obedient to Him, and when I prepare the available weaponry against the enemy, I will have paid the price of the victory, lest being victorious will be impossible. 

2-    Victory out of Allah’s favor:  

There is a type of victory that scholars called the victory that comes out of Allah’s favor, and the proof of it is mentioned in the following Ayat:  

(The Romans have been defeated* In the nearer land (Syria, Iraq, Jordan, and Palestine), and they, after their defeat, will be victorious* Within three to nine years. The decision of the matter, before and after (these events) is only with Allah, (before the defeat of Romans by the Persians, and after, i.e. the defeat of the Persians by the Romans). And on that Day, the believers (i.e. Muslims) will rejoice (at the victory given by Allah to the Romans against the Persians),)

[Ar-Rum, 2-4]

The Romans are the People of the Scripture who are polytheists. Yet, they will be victorious. Keep in mind that their victory is not deserved, but rather it is a favor from Allah. To elaborate, the victorious party is not as it is supposed to be (religiously speaking), but due to Allah's Wisdom, the Romans will be victorious. Allah the Almighty mentions that on that Day, the believers (i.e. Muslims) will rejoice at the victory given by Allah the Almighty to the Romans against the Persians. 

3-    The primary victory:

There is one more type which is the primary victory. Allah the Almighty says:  

(Cursed were the people of the ditch (the story of the Boy and the King)* Fire supplied (abundantly) with fuel* When they sat by it (fire)* And they witnessed what they were doing against the believers (i.e. burning them).)

[Al-Burooj, 4-7]

Were the people of the ditch victorious? Well, according to the conventional term, they were not victorious. However, they were primarily victorious, because they stayed firm on their belief in Allah.
