Dear brothers, one of the examples of the miraculous inimitability of the Noble Quran and Sunnah is the health benefits of black seed mentioned in the following Noble Hadith long time before advanced science proved them. 

Al-Bukhari reported on the authority of Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet, may Allah's Peace and Blessings be upon him, said:

("Use this black seed. For indeed it contains a cure for every disease except As-Sam" And As-Sam is death.)

This is an authentic Hadith of the Prophet, may Allah's Peace and Blessings be upon him, who "does not speak of his own desire. It is only an Inspiration that is inspired".  
Let us see how former scholars explained this Hadith: In Fath Al-Bari Commentary on Sahih Al-Bukhari,  Ibn Hajar Al-Asqalani said that according to Arabic rhetorical styles, the word "every" in this  Hadith "it contains a cure for every disease" is a general word that has a specific sense. In other words, he said that the black seed contains a cure for some, not every, disease because, in his point of view, how could it be possible that the black seed contains a cure for every disease while honey does not? 

Allah the Almighty describes honey as a healing drink, He says, "In which there is healing for people." However, the word "Shifaa" (healing) in the above mentioned Ayah is not preceded by the definite article "al" (the) which restricts its meaning in Arabic. In other words, honey is a cure for many, not all, diseases. 

The Prophet, Peace be upon him, said:

"Use this black seed. For indeed it contains a cure for every disease except As-Sam" And As-Sam is death.

How can the black seed be a cure for every disease?

As mentioned, Ibn Hajar Al-Asqalani said in Fath Al-Bari, that the word "every" in this Noble hadith has a specific meaning, so it refers to some diseases. Also, Ibn Arabi said, "Honey is more likely to be a remedy for every disease than the black seed". 

Actually, this hadith had perplexed some commentators on Hadith until two great scientists of medicine, who work or teach at one of the world's top universities, found that the black seed can boost the human immune system. 

The immune system is the body's defense against all diseases, especially bacterial and cancerous diseases. The stronger the immune system is, the greater one's ability to fight diseases caused by germs as well as autoimmune diseases will be.

Those two scientists came up with the result that taking 1 gram of black seed twice a day for 4 weeks increases the functional activity of lymphocytes up to 55% .

Lymphocytes include cells that produce antibodies (antiserum). Thus, a dose of 1 gm of black seed twice a day for 4 weeks increases the functional activity of  lymphocytes,

which are the cells responsible for antibody production in order to kill bacteria, up to 55%. Furthermore, taking the same dose of black seed increases the functional activity of the natural fighting cells that kill bacteria up to 74%.

Verily, the Prophet, peace be upon him "does not speak of his own desire. It is only an Inspiration that is inspired". Our master Sa'd Ibn Abi Waqqas, may Allah be pleased with him, said, "There are three situations in which I consider myself a real man, and apart from them I am just one of the common people. One of these situations is that whenever I hear something from the Prophet, I know for sure that it is the truth revealed to Him from Allah the Almighty."
