Masjid At-Taqwa- Morning Lectures- Lesson 36: On the thresholds of Ramadan

In the Name of Allah, The Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, and peace and blessings to our Master Muhammad, the Faithful and the Honest. O Allah, we know nothing but what You teach us, You are the All- Knower, the Wise. O Allah our Lord, teach us what is useful for us, let us make use of what You have taught us and advance us in knowledge. O Allah, show us the righteous things as righteous and help us do them, and show us the bad things as bad and help us keep away from them.  O Allah our Lord, make us amongst those who listen to the Word and follow the best meaning of It, and admit us, by Your Grace, to the ranks of Your righteous servants.

Worship is the reason for our existence:

Dear noble brothers, Allah the Almighty says:

﴾ And I (Allah) created not the jinns and humans except they should worship Me (Alone). ﴿

[ Adh-Dhariyat, 56 ]

The Noble Qur'an teaches us that worship is the purpose of our existence in this life and the reason for our creation.

Worship can be defined as a voluntary act of obedience, mixed with heartfelt love, based on certain knowledge, leading to eternal happiness.

You, in the Sight of Allah, are the noblest of His creation; the only one who is honored, preferred, and entrusted with worship, who will be held accountable, and who will be subject to recompense. Thus, worshipping Allah is the reason for our existence.

To make this point clear, consider the following example: If someone sends his son to a foreign country, such as Paris for example, to earn a doctorate in business management, then the main purpose and the reason for his son's presence in that great city; the largest city in Europe, is to study.  Likewise, the reason for your existence in this life is to worship Allah the Almighty.

The Almighty says:

﴾ And I (Allah) created not the jinns and humans except they should worship Me (Alone). ﴿

[ Adh-Dhariyat, 56 ]

Accordingly, the main reason, cause and purpose of your existence in this life is to worship Allah the Almighty.

Let us explain the definition of worship: It is an act of obedience to Allah the Creator, the Only One Worthy of worship, the One Who manages all People's affairs, and the One Who has the Most Beautiful Names and Exalted Attributes.

We go on with explaining this definition: it is a voluntary act of obedience, which means that although all our matters; our life, death, health, illness, strength, weakness, success, and failure, are in Allah's Hand, He gives us free will and does not compel us to worship Him. Allah the Almighty says:

(( There is no compulsion in religion. Verily, the Right Path has become distinct from the wrong path. Whoever disbelieves in Taghut and believes in Allah, then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold that will never break. And Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower. ))

[ Al-Baqarah, 256 ]

Allah the Almighty wants our relationship with Him to be based on love for Him. He says:

﴾ O you who believe! Whoever from among you turns back from his religion (Islam), Allah will bring a people whom He will love and they will love Him; humble towards the believers, stern towards the disbelievers, fighting in the Way of Allah, and never afraid of the blame of the blamers. That is the Grace of Allah which He bestows on whom He wills. And Allah is All-Sufficient for His creatures' needs, All-Knower. ﴿

[ Al-Ma'idah, 54 ]

Let us go back to the definition of Worship: "Worship is a voluntary act of obedience, mixed with heartfelt love, …" Thus, whoever claims to love Allah while disobeying Him does not truly worship Him, and whoever obeys Allah without loving Him does not truly worship Him either. So, worship is a voluntary act of obedience, mixed with heartfelt love, based on certain knowledge, leading to eternal happiness.

Exceptional seasons of worship:

Although one should worship Allah at all times; 365 days a year, but due to Allah's Will, there are exceptional seasons of worship such as the month of Ramadan and specific days like Friday, when many things (like selling during Friday prayer, and eating, drinking and marital intercourse during the days of Ramadan) are not allowed because these occasions are exceptional.

In Ramadan, one is not only commanded to refrain from lying, eating unlawful food, and committing other prohibitions, but is also required to abstain from permissible things (such as eating lawful food and drinking water from dawn until sunset).

Fasting is the worship of sincerity:

To make it clear, consider the example of a person who enters his home while fasting on an extremely hot August day, when temperatures may reach 51°C. He is alone, and the refrigerator is full of juices, drinks, food, and fruits. Yet, he never drinks even a single drop of water (before sunset) although no one is there to see him. This is why some scholars called fasting, "The worship of sincerity".

When you are fasting, you never drink a single drop of water even if no one is seeing you and the refrigerator is filled with whatever you need, because you deeply believe that Allah, Exalted and Sublime be He, is watching you.

One more time, worship can be defined as a voluntary act of obedience, mixed with heartfelt love, based on certain knowledge, leading to eternal happiness.

During Ramadan, an exceptional act of worship is added to those you practice throughout the year: refraining from food and drink in this blessed month from true dawn until sunset. Verily, it is a test of one's sincerity.

Let me repeat that example: even if you enter home at 1 PM for example, and you are unbearably thirsty, and there is no one at home to see you, you never drink just a single drop of water. So, fasting is the worship of sincerity.

Some people are concerned only with the health benefits of fasting, but the purpose of worship is far greater than that, not just its physical benefits, as reflected in the following saying, "Fast and you will be healthy."  In other words, we fast to seek the Pleasure of Allah the Almighty through this act of worship, not merely for its physical benefits.

Let us repeat the definition of worship: It is a voluntary act of obedience, mixed with heartfelt love, based on certain knowledge, leading to eternal happiness.

Heart-touching definitions of Ramadan:

There are several lovely definitions of Ramadan: It is the month of repentance, the month of forgiveness, the month of reconciliation with Allah the Almighty and submission to Him, the month of performing acts of worship and drawing closer to Him, the month of spending for the Sake of Allah, and the month of love for His Sake.

During this month, your love for Allah the Almighty leads you to refrain from food or drink while fasting, and we welcome this blessed month with repentance to Allah the Almighty, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate, the Most Forgiving, and the Most Generous.

It was narrated in Sahih Al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim that the Prophet, may Allah's Peace and Blessings be upon him, said:

(( Allah rejoices for the repentance of His servant more than the barren woman rejoices for having a child, more than the lost one who finds his way and more than the thirsty one who finds water. ))

[ Al-Albani, classified as a weak Hadith ]

Imagine that you have lost a 100-million bank cheque and then find it, how delighted would you be!

(( Allah rejoices for the repentance of His servant more than the barren woman rejoices for having a child, more than the lost one who finds his way and more than the thirsty one who finds water. ))

[ Al-Albani, classified as a weak Hadith ]

Loving Allah, Exalted and Sublime be He:

How strange it is to know Allah and yet not to love Him!

Consider this lovely saying: What an astonishing thing it is to know Allah the Almighty and yet not to love Him! It is utterly impossible to truly know Allah the Almighty, the Source of all beauty, perfection, and bestowal (of favors), the Divine Character, the Creator of the universe, and the One Who possesses the Most Beautiful Names and the Exalted Attributes, and yet not to love Him.

How strange it is to love Allah and yet not to obey Him!

This situation is not less strange than the first one: It is utterly impossible to love Allah the Almighty and yet not to obey Him!

The first strange fact is: It is utterly impossible to know Allah the Almighty and yet not to love Him!

How strange it is to hear Adhan (the call to prayer), and yet not to respond at once!

One of the strangest things is to hear Adhan (the call to prayer) and then delay your response. Actually, when you hear Adhan, who will you be connected with? You will be connected with Allah, the One Who possesses the Most Beautiful Names and the Exalted Attributes, the Perfect Divine Character, the Source of all beauty, perfection, and bestowal (of favors), the source of true love, the Creator of all things, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate, and the One Who possesses the Exalted Attributes.

How strange it is to hear Adhan, and yet not to respond at once, since the one who gives Adhan is calling you to perform Salah (through which you will connect with Allah the Almighty).

How strange it is to know how profitable dealing with Him is, but you deal with others instead!

How strange it is to know how profitable dealing with Him is (when Allah the Almighty multiplies the reward of your good deeds many times), but then you deal with others instead.

Man may live for 60, 70, 80, 85, or even 110 years. The longest human lifespan I have heard of was that of a scholar at Al-Azhar, who lived for about 130 years, yet in reality, he is nothing but a number of days.

A remarkable comprehensive definition of man:

Consider the following remarkable comprehensive definition of man (by Al-Hasan Al-Basri):  "O man you are nothing but a number of days; whenever a day passes away, a part of you passes away."  So, you are time.

I repeat this precise definition, "O man, you are nothing but a number of days, whenever a day passes away, a part of you passes away."

You are time, and that is why Allah the Almighty swears by time in its absolute sense; He says:

﴾ By Al-'Asr (the time) ﴿

[ Al-Asr, 1 ]

Why does Allah the Almighty swear by time in its absolute sense? Because you, as a human being, are time. This is indicated in the remarkable comprehensive definition of man, being merely a number of days, whenever a day passes away, a part of him passes away.

Assume that a person's lifespan is 86 years, 3 months, 4 weeks, 8 hours, 4 minutes, and 35 seconds. Whenever a single second passes, a second of his lifespan passes with it.

Let me say that gain: You, as a human being, are nothing but time—and that is why Allah the Almighty swears by time; He says:

﴾ By Al-'Asr (the time). Verily! Man is in loss ﴿

[ Al-Asr, 1-2 ]

O Lord! Why are we losers? Why is man in loss? It is because whether you are a righteous or a morally corrupt person, an upright or a depraved person, the passage of time gradually takes away your life.

To understand this fact clearly, ponder over these precise words: You, as a human being, are nothing but time; you are only a number of days, whenever a day passes away, a part of you passes away as well. So, as a human being, you are in loss, because the mere passage of time gradually diminishes your existence.

Allah the Almighty says:

﴾ By Al-'Asr (the time). Verily! Man is in loss ﴿

[ Al-Asr, 1-2 ]

These are the Words of the Allah, the Creator of the worlds. Why is man in loss? Because the mere passage of time takes away his life.

The pillars of Salvation:

Allah the Almighty says:

﴾ Except those who believe (in Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, and recommend one another to the truth (i.e. order one another to perform all kinds of good deeds (Al-Ma'ruf) which Allah has ordained, and abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds (Al-Munkar) which Allah has forbidden), and recommend one another to patience (for the sufferings, harms, and injuries which one may encounter in Allah's Cause during preaching His religion of Islamic Monotheism or Jihad, etc.). ﴿

[ Al-Asr, 3 ]

Glory be to Allah! The Mercy of Allah is shown in this exception:

﴾ Except those who… ﴿

[ Al-Asr, 3 ]

The Almighty says:

Imam Ash-Shafi'i, may Allah be pleased with him, said that this Noble Ayah includes the pillars of salvation for man from inevitable loss.

Man is in loss, because even if he holds the highest position, earns the highest income, or attains the highest status, he will eventually die.

A poet said:

Every creature will die...
And only Allah, The Possessor of Glory and Might will remain.
***
No matter how long the night lasts, the dawn shall certainly come...
No matter how long man lives, he must die and be buried
Every son of Adam, no matter how long he lives in safety…
Will one day be carried on his coffin to his grave.
 [Ka'b Ibn Zuhair]
***

Death ends everything:

I know a very wealthy man, who was the father of my close friend. I attended his funeral and stood very close to his grave. They opened the grave, placed the deceased inside, uncovered his face, and turned his body toward the direction of the Qibla. The opening of the grave was 5 cm wider than the stone plate (which is placed along the length of the grave to form a barrier between the deceased and the soil) on each side. So, when they began covering the grave with soil, several kilograms of soil fell on his body.

He can no longer benefit from his grand house, lavishly furnished with crystal chandeliers, Persian rugs and state of the art appliances, and his 450-square-meter large house in the wealthiest neighborhood. He left these things forever since death ends everything; it ends the power of the powerful, the weakness of the weak, the beauty of the handsome, the ugliness of the ugly, the health of the healthy, and the sickness of the sick. Verily, death brings an end to all things. Allah the Almighty says:

﴾ So, by your Lord (O Muhammad PBUH), We shall certainly call all of them to account* For all that they used to do. ﴿

[ Al-Hijr, 92-93 ]

By Allah, dear brothers, I have never found anyone wiser or more intelligent than the one who prepares for his death, by performing righteous deeds.

Without exaggeration, I have five photos of great Islamic scholars who passed away, and a gentle and calm smile appeared on their faces at the hour of death, as if they had seen their high rank in Jannah (Paradise) at that moment.

Beware, death puts an end to all worldly matters, and that is why I always say that reflecting on death is essential of religion.

You may have a grand house; a 450 square meter house with luxurious furniture, a modern kitchen, and so on, but what would I prefer to call this house? I would rather call it your "temporary abode", because one's final resting place is in the grave.

Keep in mind that whether one is among the elite or a low-ranking individual, whether he is rich or poor, and whether he holds a high social position or is someone of low social rank, he will eventually die and leave everything behind.

The poet said:

Every creature will die...
And only Allah, The Possessor of Glory and Might will remain.
***

No matter how long the night lasts, the dawn shall certainly come...
No matter how long man lives, he must die and be buried
Every son of Adam, no matter how long he lives in safety…
Will one day be carried on his coffin to his grave.

Death is the gravest event in life:

Dear brothers, I speak out of a brother's love for his fellow brothers: always reflect on death, and this is not out of pessimism. In other words, live your life in a natural way; marry, buy a house, go on trips, and enjoy other permissible things, but keep in mind that death is the most critical event in your life. Whether you live in a palace, a house, or a small home, you will leave it behind when you go to your grave. Thus, death is the gravest event in your life.

During one's life, he may have a strong personality, but after death, he will simply be called 'the late' or 'the deceased'. During his life, no one may dare to touch any of his belongings, but after his death, his family will open his wardrobe, take all his things, sell his car, and so on. So, every creature will die.

Without exaggeration, the true cleverness, success, and triumph lie in constantly preparing for death, since no one knows when he will die. Due to Allah's Profound Wisdom, some people die at a young age such as at 15, 20, or 25. Thus, no one knows when death will come.

How strange it is to realize the Greatness of Allah's Wrath, and yet you expose yourself to it!

Let us go back to that lovely saying:  "How strange it is to know Allah, and yet not to love Him! How strange it is to love Allah and yet not to obey Him! How strange it is to hear Adhan and yet not to respond at once! How strange it is to know how profitable dealing with Him is, but you deal with others instead!"

The saying goes on, "How strange it is to realize the Greatness of Allah's Wrath, and yet you expose yourself to it!"

Let us ask ourselves:  Do we commit sins in our homes and in our lives? Do we watch TV channels with immoral content at home? Do we attend gatherings where men and women mix freely? Do we make money through unlawful (haram) means?

As long as one is still alive and his heart is still beating, he can repent and have his sins forgiven since the door of repentance is always open (until the hour of death).

Allah the Almighty says:

﴾ They ask you concerning menstruation. Say: that is an Adha (a harmful thing for a husband to have a sexual intercourse with his wife while she is having her menses), therefore keep away from women during menses and go not unto them till they have purified (from menses and have taken a bath). And when they have purified themselves, then go in unto them as Allah has ordained for you (go in unto them in any manner as long as it is in their vagina). Truly, Allah loves those who turn unto Him in repentance and loves those who purify themselves (by taking a bath and cleaning and washing thoroughly their private parts, bodies, for their prayers, etc.). ﴿

[ Al-Baqarah, 222 ]

So, check whether your income and spending are halal or haram and your meetings; do you attend meetings where men and women mix freely and spend the entire evening looking at a pretty woman, who may be far more beautiful than your wife?

In general, Muslims do not commit major sins. If you are in any Islamic city such as Amman, Damascus, Istanbul, etc, and make a survey in houses within an area of 1,000 to 2,000 square meters, you will find that Muslims in those houses never commit major sins such as drinking alcohol, committing adultery, or committing murder. However, some bad things might be committed in these households, like what? Watching TV channels with immoral content at home, attending gatherings where men and women mix freely, and making money through unlawful (haram) means such as writing incorrect specifications on products.

Dear noble brothers, unfortunately, there are countless ways to earn money unlawfully. For example, there is a substance called sodium benzoate added to canned food. The allowed percentage of it is only 3 parts per 1000, but some manufacturers put 3 parts per 100, increasing the risk of cancer rates tenfold since it is a carcinogenic substance, and the allowed rate of it is just 3 parts per 1000. The manufacturer who only cares about preserving the food and never cares about people's health adds that harmful amount to canned food, forgetting that Allah is watching him (and will call him to severe account for that).

Actually, when you deeply believe that Allah the Almighty is always with you, and is always watching you, you will remain steadfast in obeying His Commands, and as a result you will experience the blessing of security.

Only true believers experience the blessing of security:

Allah the Almighty say

﴾ And how should I fear those whom you associate in worship with Allah (though they can neither benefit nor harm), while you fear not that you have joined in worship with Allah things for which He has not sent down to you any authority. (So) which of the two parties has more right to be in security? If you but know* It is those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah and worship none but Him Alone) and confuse not their belief with Zulm (wrong i.e. by worshipping others besides Allah), for them (only) there is security and they are the guided. ﴿

[  Al-An'am, 81-82 ]

By Allah, only the believer enjoys the blessing of security. As for the disbelievers, Allah the Almighty says:

﴾ We shall cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve, because they joined others in worship with Allah, for which He had sent no authority; their abode will be the Fire and how evil is the abode of the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers). ﴿

[ Aal-'Imran, 151 ]

Allah the Almighty will cast terror into the heart of the disbeliever, even if he is the president of the most powerful country in the world, whereas Allah will fill the heart of the true believer with tranquility, even if he is a humble man working a simple job. Allah the Almighty says:

﴾ And how should I fear those whom you associate in worship with Allah (though they can neither benefit nor harm), while you fear not that you have joined in worship with Allah things for which He has not sent down to you any authority. (So) which of the two parties has more right to be in security? If you but know* It is those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah and worship none but Him Alone) and confuse not their belief with Zulm (wrong i.e. by worshipping others besides Allah), for them (only) there is security and they are the guided. ﴿

[ Al-An'am, 81-82 ]

Dear noble brother, the notion of eternity is really very serious; either living in Jannah forever or in Hellfire forever. Verily, it is an incredibly grave matter.

Let us think about eternity; how many years is it? No one knows! Is it 1000 years? No, it is far more! Is it 100 thousand years? No, it is far more! Is it 1 million years? No, it is far more! Is it 100 million years? No, it is far more! Is it 1 trillion years? No, it is far more!
If we want to understand the notion of eternity, imagine that I draw number 1 in front of me, and there are so many zeros written after this number written in a line and continue all the way to that far column, what would be the number? If these zeros continue all the way to the second column, to the entrance, to the end of the street, or even to the sun, which is 156 million km away from the earth, with a zero at every kilometer, or even every millimeter, what would be the number? No one knows even mathematicians!

Now, if you compare this enormous imaginary number to infinity, it becomes zero. Thus, infinity is really an incredibly grave reality.

Allah the Almighty says:

﴾ Their reward with their Lord is 'Adn (Eden) Paradise (Gardens of Eternity), underneath which rivers flow, they will abide therein forever, Allah Well-Pleased with them, and they with Him. That is for him who fears his Lord. ﴿

[ Al-Bayyinah,8 ]

Living in Hellfire forever is truly unbearable. Is it reasonable to disobey Allah the Almighty and to lose the eternal Jannah for the sake of this temporary worldly life, in which you commit sins and wrongdoings for almost sixty or seventy years?

Actually, the most foolish and ignorant person is he who does not keep Allah the Almighty in his mind in everything he does. For example, he should avoid anything that does not please Allah the Almighty, such as a business deal that involves products containing cancer-causing substances, a meeting where men and women mix freely, or a job with haram income, and so on.

Once, one of my brothers in faith, who is a women's clothing tailor, told me that a disbelieving French fashion designer controls women's clothes across the entire Islamic world!

If such a designer wants clothes to be shorter, the tailors blindly follow him and make them shorter. If he wants them to be very tight, they blindly follow him and make them very tight. If he wants skirts to be with slits, the tailors blindly follow him and make skirts with slits too. Women's tailors follow fashion blindly, and this disbelieving designer controls the clothes of Muslim women across the Islamic world! Is it reasonable that this disbelieving man dictates what our wives wear? This is a clear sign of backwardness.

While I was once in Italy, I came across a neighborhood where some shop signs were written in Arabic that said 'Halal Clothes', to indicate that they sell modest non-revealing clothes.

You are the best creature in the Sight of Allah the Almighty, and you were created for the purpose of entering Paradise. He does not command you to refrain from eating at all but only from what is unlawful, and you can do whatever you want as long as it is permissible. So, does it make sense to disobey Allah the Almighty?

Can you ever ignore that Allah, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, is always watching you? Never! Thus, the true believer always keeps in his mind that Allah the Almighty is watching him.

How strange is it to taste the bitterness of sin, and yet not to seek the comfort of obedience!

One of the most astonishing things is to experience the pain of loneliness and distance from Allah the Almighty after sinning, and yet not to seek true comfort through obeying Him.

One should ask himself; was I created merely to eat, drink, sleep, wake up, eat, drink, and sleep, and so on? Why was I created? Allah the Almighty gives us the answer in the following Noble Ayah in which He says:

﴾ And I (Allah) created not the jinns and humans except they should worship Me (Alone). ﴿

[  Adh-Dhariyat, 56 ]

Let us repeat the definition of worship: it is a voluntary act of obedience, mixed with heartfelt love, based on certain knowledge, leading to eternal happiness.

The difference between pleasure and happiness:

Actually, dear brothers, pleasure is different from happiness, pleasure is physical, and it requires three conditions: health, wealth, and time:

In the beginning of one's life, there is health and time, but there is no wealth.
In the middle of his lifetime, there is wealth and health, but there is no time.
In the end of his lifetime, there is wealth and time, but there is no health!

"Be watchful of Allah (Commandments of Allah), He will preserve you":

In life, you may meet someone who is very successful but has many difficulties in his life, such as health problems that require a special diet or limit some physical activities. However, when a person remains mindful of Allah the Almighty, Allah will protect and preserve his health.

I know a great Syrian scholar named Badr Ad-Din al-Hasani, who lived for 97 years. Whenever he saw a young man, he would say to him, "You were one of my students, your father was one of my students, and your grandfather was one of my students as well." He taught people Islamic knowledge for about 80 years, and he remained in good health. Whenever one of his students asked him about the secret behind his good health in old age, he would say, "O my son, I protected my limbs and senses (from committing haram) in my youth, so Allah the Almighty preserved them for me in my old age. Whoever lives according to Allah's Command and leads a pious life, Allah will protect his health and make him enjoy good health even in his old age." These are very precise words.

Also, once I visited one of my dearest friends on Eid. When I reached there, his father opened the door for me and told me that my friend, Muhammad, was not at home. He invited me to come in for a short visit. I entered and that old man, who was 95 years old, said to me, "Yesterday, I had a complete medical check-up, and everything was normal." He continued, "I have always stayed away from what is unlawful. I have never engaged in anything haram in my life; neither in financial matters nor in my relationships with women."

I want to bring you this glad tiding: As long as you fear Allah, you will have a wonderful life in your old age.

There are many Islamic scholars, who did not lose their memory in their old age, and they remained in good health. So, if you want to enjoy good health in your old age, live according to Allah's Command, fear Him and always keep the Hereafter in your mind.

Allah the Almighty says:

﴾ So, by your Lord (O Muhammad PBUH), We shall certainly call all of them to account* For all that they used to do. ﴿

[ Al-Hijr, 92 ]

If you are a manufacturer, for example, and you add carcinogenic substances to food, or engage in actions that displease Allah the Almighty, do you think you will escape Allah's Punishment in the Hereafter? Never!

Bear in mind, as long as you believe that you will be held accountable for your deeds in the Hereafter, you will remain steadfast in obeying Allah's Commands.

Let me give you another example. Why do you stop your car when the traffic light turns red? I want an ideological answer. You stop, because you know that the authorities will find out, either through the police officer or through surveillance cameras. So, their knowledge extends to you, and their power extends to you as well; they can punish you and prevent you from driving for a year, and you have to pay a fine of 5.000 liras for that. Since their knowledge and their power extend to you, you can never disobey them.
Ponder over the following Noble Ayah in which Allah the Almighty says:

﴾ It is Allah Who has created seven heavens and of the earth the like thereof (i.e. seven). His Command descends between them (heavens and earth), that you may know that Allah has power over all things, and that Allah surrounds (comprehends) all things in (His) Knowledge. ﴿

[ At-Talaq, 12 ]

Is the message implied in it not clear? It indicates that as long as Allah's Knowledge and Power encompass you, how can you dare to disobey Him? Imam Ash-Shafi'i said:

You disobey Allah although you claim to love Him
By my life, how strange such a claim is!
If your love had been true, you would have obeyed Him
The one who truly loves is obedient to the one he loves

I ask Allah, Exalted and Sublime be He, to preserve your faith and the faith of your families and your children, and to preserve your health, your wealth, and the stability of your country.

All praise be to Allah, The Lord of the worlds

Invocation:

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. All praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds, and peace and blessings be upon our Master Muhammad, the Faithful and the Honest.

O Allah, grant us from Your Blessings and do not deprive us, honor us and do not humiliate us, be in favor of us and not against us, and make us satisfied and be satisfied with us.

O Allah, send Your Blessings on our Master Muhammad, the illiterate Prophet, his family and companions.
