Praise be to Allah, The Lord (The One and Only) of the worlds. Blessings and peace be upon our master, Prophet Muhammad, the Truthful and the Faithful.
Dear brothers, I would like to give you a piece of advice: Love your wife, love your children and love those around but don't depend on them, for you should only depend on Allah.
Put your trust in Allah, pin your hopes on Him and make His Pleasure the only thing that counts.
A man used to have a relative working is in the office of Sultan Abdul Hameed. He went to him seeking a job, so his relative welcomed him in his house. However, his stayed for a long time. His relative said:  Every time I put the application to be signed by the Sultan, something comes up and he doesn't sign it" This went on for 30 days.
It seems that the relative had a good connection with Allah, so he figured out that this man pinned his hopes on him and forgot about Allah the Almighty. Accordingly, he instructed one of his servants to frown in his face because he stayed for 30 days while usually 3 days are the maximum time for a guest to stay.
This man got out of his relative's house with a broken heart and tears in his eyes. The relative instructed his servant once again to follow him and to see where he would go.
He stayed in a Khan (it is like hotels nowadays). 
When the relative put the application on the desk of the Sultan, the latter signed it right away.
This relative sent for the man and said: "You stayed 30 days depending on me to find you this job, until you went out broken-hearted and then you depended on Allah the Almighty, which made the Sultan sign your application"
When man puts his trust in Allah Alone, he will get prosperity, but when he pins his hopes on another human being, the latter will let him down and this is but Divine discipline because depending on other than Allah is a hidden Shirk.

Don't ask another human being for your need
And ask The One Whose Doors are always open
You will gain Allah's wrath if you don't resort to Him
While human beings get angry when being asked
