Dear brothers, if you want to ponder over the acts of worships, you will notice that they are basically ordained to be in the interests of mankind. Allah the Almighty says: 

(Take Sadaqah (alms) from their wealth in order to purify them and sanctify them with it) 

[At-Taubah, 103] 

Ramadan is the month of zakat, through which you are purified from stinginess, much the same as when someone is cured from a cancerous tumor which could have put an end to his life. 
Allah the Almighty says: 

(And whoever is saved from his own covetousness, such are they who will be the successful)

[Al-Hashr, 9] 

Zakat: 

Regarding Zakat, Allah the Almighty says: 

(Take Sadaqah (alms) from their wealth in order to purify them and sanctify them with it) 

[At-Taubah, 103]
 

Zakat purifies the rich from miserliness, and the poor from grudge towards the rich. The money the poor get in Ramadan helps solve their problems, pay their debts, and buy food and clothes for their children. It makes them feel their worth as part of the society and its mercy towards them. Therefore, by means of zakat the rich get purified from stinginess and the poor from grudge.

Salah: 

Concerning Salah, Allah the Almighty says:

(…and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat). Verilt, As-Salt (prayer) prevents from Al-Fahsha' (i.e. great sins of every kind, unlawful sexual intercourse, etc.) and Al-Munkar (i.e. disbelief, polytheism, and every kind of evil wicked deed, etc.) and the remembering (praising, etc) of (you by) Allah (in front of the angles) is greater indeed [than your remembering (praising, etc.) allah in prayers, etc]…)

[Al-Ankabut, 45] 

The purpose of Salah is to prevent man from sinning, the purpose of Siyaam is to feel Allah's Light cast into your heart and the purpose of Zakat is to purify the rich from stinginess and the poor from grudge. 
Accordingly, these acts of worship are ordained to be in the best interests of mankind. Thus, keep in mind the purpose of Shari'ah rulings.
