In the Name of Allah, The Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Honorable spectators, Assalam Alaikum Wa Rahmatoo Allah Wa Barakatoh (May the peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be with you), welcome to a new episode of our show: “We will show them Our Signs” which tackle the inimitability of the noble Quran and Sunnah.
My guest is the notable scholar Dr. Mohammad Rateb Al Nabulsi, the lecturer in the field of Scientific Miracles of the Noble Quran and Prophetic Sunna in the faculties of Islamic Law and Fundamentals of Islamic Religion. Welcome Dr. Nabulsi.

 Dr. Nabulsi
Thank you Mr. Mo’taz and May Allah reward you.
  Mr. Mo’taz:
Dr. Nabulsi, we tackled through many previous episodes the term “The scientific inimitability of the noble Quran”, how lovely that you explain to the spectators more about the long-term goal of the inimitability of the noble Quran?

Allah sends His messengers with method in order to grant people safety and happiness:

 Dr. Nabulsi

In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, The Lord (The One and Only) of the worlds. Blessings and peace be upon our master, Prophet Muhammad, the Truthful and the Faithful.
In fact, Allah created man, honored him, bestowed the free will upon him, and assigned man to worship Him, but some people go astray, become heedless and follow their desires, which leads them to misery in worldly life and in the hereafter.
Hence, since Allah is Merciful and He is the Lord of the worlds, He sent His messenger to people and provided him with a divine method through which they can guarantee their safety and happiness.
When man gets on intimate terms with dissoluteness and when he becomes familiar with acting according to his desires without any limitations, conditions, laws, systems, values or principles, this man is deemed heedless and it is natural for him to lie:

﴾And those who disbelieve, say: "You (O Muhammad) are not a Messenger." ﴿

[Ar-Ra’d, 43]

The prophet’s miracle is continuous because He was sent to all nations:

Now, how would Allah testify before His creations that the messenger he sent to them and who said: “I am the messenger of Allah”, is actually His messenger? The Almighty Allah says:

﴾No vision can grasp Him﴿

[Al-An’am, 103]

Knowing that fact, how would Allah testify? Allah’s testimony in the life of previous prophets was through His tangible miracles which He bestowed them with. Take for example our Master Moses:

﴾Then [Musa (Moses)] threw his stick and behold! it was a serpent, manifest! ﴿

[Al-A’raf, 107]

What he did was beyond the magicians’ abilities.

﴾And he drew out his hand, and behold! it was white (with radiance) for the beholders.﴿

[Al-A’raf, 108]

Our Master Moses PBUH also struck the sea with his stick, so it parted, and each separate part became like the huge firm mass of a mountain.
Our Master Jesus PBUH brought life to the dead, and this is beyond the abilities of even superior doctors.
Our Master Ibrahim was thrown in the fire, but it didn’t burn him.
Allah bestowed all His earliest prophets with tangible miracles as a divine testimony that they are His messengers, these miracles broke the laws of the universe which can’t be done but by The Almighty Allah, and we can call these miracles “tangible divine testimonies” or “tangible miracles”.
Nevertheless, there is a huge difference between the notable prophet Mohammad PBUH (the master of prophets and messengers, the seal of all of them and His Quran [the seal of divine books]) and the previous prophets, for the latter were sent by Allah to their people exclusively, and a tangible miracle was enough for them, but the prophet PBUH is sent to all nations.

﴾And We have sent you (O Muhammad) not but as a mercy for the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists).﴿

[Al-Anbiya’, 107]

Mohammad PBUH was sent to all nations till the end of the days, thus his miracle should be continuous as well unlike the miracles of earlier prophets which were like matchsticks that are lit one time only and then they are put out and they turn into news that are believed by the believers and disbelieved by the disbelievers.
The miracle of the seal of prophets and messengers who was sent to all nations should be from another nature, and it is a scientific nature (the scientific inimitability of Quran).

The scientific indications in the Quran:

In the Quran, which Allah took over the mission of protecting, there are more than 1300 indications about(or references to ) scientific facts that were unknown to people of early Islam, or to the people who lived after 100 years, 200 years, 500 years or 1000 years, yet these facts were unfolded 1400 years later. Allah says:

﴾ We will show them Our Signs in the universe ﴿

[Fussilat, 53]

“Will” indicates the future, and thus the miracles of the prophet PBUH are the scientific ones which I call “the scientific breakthroughs.”
Take for example when man took off to space for the first time, when the spaceship passed the atmosphere of earth, one of the astronauts shouted: We became blind, and we are unable to see anything, why is that?
It is due to the physical phenomenon known as “the scattering of light” which is caused by the atmospheric particles that don’t exist in the open space. Within the earth atmosphere, the dust particles reflect the sunlight to the other particles in the shade (where there is no sunlight), and this physical phenomenon is the reason behind having daylight, so during the day, parts of the earth have sunlight and sh3er have the daylight, accordingly, this astronaut shouted: We are blind, because they passed the earth’s atmosphere. When we open the Quran we read the following Ayah:

﴾ And even if We opened to them a gate from the heaven and they were to continue ascending thereto, They would surely say: "Our eyes have been (as if) dazzled. Nay, we are a people bewitched." ﴿

[Al-Hijr, 14-15]

This is a scientific inimitability of Quran. This Ayah was descended 1400 years ago indicating that the outer space is dark and this darkness starts after passing the earth’s atmosphere. This indication confirms that the noble Quran is sent by the Creator of the universes. These indications are Allah’s testimonies that this man (Mohammad PBUH) is the messenger of Allah.
  Mr. Mo’taz:
Let me clarify one thing here; is there any difference between the miracle and the scientific inimitability?

Difference between the miracle and the Scientific inimitability:

  Dr. Nabulsi
The miracle usually breaks the rules of the universe, unlike the scientific breakthrough which accords with the rules of the universe, namely, a law might be discovered recently and is indicated in the Quran, this is called scientific inimitability, whereas the miracle breaks the universal code.

﴾Glorified (and Exalted) be He (Allah) [above all that (evil) they associate with Him] [Tafsir Qurtubi, Vol. 10, Page 204] Who took His slave (Muhammad ) for a journey by night from Al-Masjid-al-Haram (at Makkah) to the farthest mosque (in Jerusalem) ﴿

[Al-Isra’, 1]

The miracle breaks the universal code like when our prophet ascended to the space in the journey of Me’raj, but the inimitability is when a constant law is discovered by scientists and is indicated by the noble Quran 1400 years earlier, so this is the difference between the two.
Mr. Mo’taz:
What you have mentioned right now makes me move to another question. This astronaut was in total darkness in space and this scientific fact was mentioned in the Quran 1400 years earlier, so are you saying that all recent scientific theories are mentioned in the noble Quran?

Most unfolded scientific facts have indications in the Quran:

  Dr. Nabulsi:
I am not saying all of them, but most of the scientific laws that were discovered recently are (indicated) mentioned in the noble Quran.
  Mr. Mo’taz:
  Like what?
  Dr. Nabulsi
For example, Einstein, the famous physicist, put the relativity theory that has totally changed all the concepts of physics, energy, power and motion in the world.
Depending on this theory he discovered the absolute speed in the universe which is the speed of light, which travels at 300 thousand Kilometers per second and this speed is considered as the absolute speed, and anything that catches up with light’s speed turns into light and time comes to a halt, how is that?
When man travels at light’s speed, time comes to a halt, and when man is ahead of light’s speed then time travels backward.
So if we were able to build a spaceship that supposedly is able to travel faster than light’s speed, we would be able to see with our own eyes the battles of Badr, Ohod, Al Khandak, Al Yarmouk and Al Qadisyah, but all this is virtual assumption not real.
Therefore if we traveled at the speed of light, time would come to a halt, and if we were faster than light’s speed, time would travel backward.
One hour in space equals one thousand years on earth, and this time is considered by scientists as the forth dimensions of things which has three dimensions: length, width and depth, so time makes the moving dimension of things.
In reality, being the fourth dimension of things, time can be seen on its effects on a book, which would be very new when it is published and it has a length, width and height, but after being read by a thousand people, the continuous handling will show on its papers and cover, and this is the fourth dimension of things.
To clarify more, in order to draw a (one dimensional) line we move from a specific point straight up to another point, and in order to have a (two dimensional) plane-surface we move from a specific line to another line, and in order to have a (three dimensional) cubic shape we move the surface, and in order to have time we move the three dimensional shape, thus the earth revolves and its fourth dimension is time.
Man’s features change from the age of 10 to the age of 60 gradually, and these changes are the fourth dimension which is time.
One of the most specific definitions of man is that he is but a few days, and each day passes takes part of him.
Hence, Einstein found out that the fastest speed in the universe is the speed of light.
  Mr. Mo’taz:
What about the Ayahs in the noble Quran?

Einstein’s relativity theory, is compressed and mentioned in an Ayah:

 Dr. Nabulsi:
Many conferences, about the inimitability of Quran, were held recently, the last of which was in Kuwait, the one before was held in Dubai, the one before was held in Beirut in which I represented Syria and the one before was held in Moscow under the title “the fifth conference of the inimitability of Quran” in which Einstein’s theory was discussed and was related to the following Ayah:

﴾And verily, a day with your Lord is as a thousand years of what you reckon.﴿

[Al-Hajj, 47]

Arabs, who are addressed in the Ayah, use the lunar calendar, and they are counting the years by the moon’s year.
The moon turns around the earth once per month, now pay attention and this is to young students who went to school and studied mathematics, the moon turns around the earth once every month and if we took the center of the earth and the center of the moon and drew a straight line between the two, this line according to architects and mathematicians is the half diameter of a circle equals to the moon orbit around the earth, and it is easy to calculate that: half diameter of the earth plus half diameter of the moon plus the distance between the two equals half diameter of the moon’s orbit around the earth, if we multiply that by 2, we will get the diameter of the orbit, and if we multiply that by 3.14 we will get the circumference of the orbit, and if we multiply that by 12 (the months of a year) then multiply that by 1000 years (any junior high student can do that by a calculator) we will have the distance that the moon travels in 1000 years and this number will be in kilometers.
And as you know speed equals the distance divided by the time, isn’t that true?
So if we divided the distance that the moon traversed in its journey around the earth in 1000 years using the recent seconds, how many hours in a day? 24.
And we multiply 24 by 60 minutes and by 60 seconds, that means depending on how much distance the moon travels around the earth in 1000 years, equals the same distance that the light travels in one day, so if we divided this number by how many seconds the one thousand years are, we would get the speed of light which is precisely 299752.
So the distance that the moon traverses in 1000 years equals the distance that the light traverses in one day.

﴾And verily, a day with your Lord is as a thousand years of what you reckon.﴿

This giant theory, which changed all the concepts of physics and chemistry, is compressed and mentioned in an Ayah

﴾ We will show them Our Signs in the universe ﴿

[Fussilat, 53]

 Mr. Mo’taz:
Undoubtedly, there are other indications in the noble Quran. Dr. Nabulsi show us please some of these scenes of the inimitability of the Quran, as you used to do in every episode, so what do we have today?

Greatness of Allah reflected in creating mankind “birth”:

  Dr. Nabulsi
The last scene to show is “birth”.
We gradually went through the phases of the embryo starting with fertilizing the egg and ending with birth, so this is the last episode of the series of the scientific inimitability in creating man.
Now we are in the final stage which is birth. A grave danger is awaiting the fetus, for it must pass through the bones of the pelvis of the mother, and the danger comes from the narrow space through which the fetal skull will go through and this surely applies pressure as the baby passes down the birth canal.
Special arrangements are taken to protect this fetus, firstly: the fetal skull is soft unlike the adult’s skull, not to mention that the sutures (joints between the bones of the skull) can stretch a little under the pressure on the baby’s head as it passes down the birth canal, and this will prevent this pressure from damaging the brain or the skull and the baby’s birth will be right. During early childhood, these sutures harden and the skull bones can no longer move relative to one another, as they can to a small extent in the fetus and newborn.
These stages are shown in this movie, and all people on earth went through them, for we all were nothing more than a trivial sperm that is conceived in the mother’s womb.
Meditating about this fact is a duty upon every human being on earth, and this duty is to think about how man was created? Consequently, man should praise his Creator for this grace.
We should keep in mind that our Lord who created our bodies the first time is able to resurrect them again after our death, and he will bring us to account for all the graces bestowed upon us by Him, for recreating us again is much easier for Him. As for those who deny the truth of their creation by forgetting their Lord and the hereafter, they are in grave mistake. Allah reminds us in his Quran by saying:

﴾Does not man see that We have created him from Nutfah (mixed male and female discharge semen drops). Yet behold! He (stands forth) as an open opponent. And he puts forth for Us a parable, and forgets his own creation. He says: "Who will give life to these bones when they have rotted away and became dust?" Say: (O Muhammad) "He will give life to them Who created them for the first time! And He is the All-Knower of every creation!"﴿

[Ya-Sin, 77-79]

These Ayahs indicate the Greatness of Allah, and this is the story of creating man which we observed by our bare eyes or through telescopes and microscopes.

﴾So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators.﴿

[Al-Mu’minun, 14]

  Mr. Mo’taz:
Blessed is Allah, May Allah reward you.
Time passed quickly while you are showing us scientific proofs. At the end of this episode I would like to thank you Dr. Mohammad Rateb Al Nabulsi, the lecturer in the field of Scientific Miracles of the Noble Quran and Prophetic Sunna in the faculties of Islamic Law and Fundamentals of Islamic Religion. Thank you very much, and our thanks are to our spectators, and we hope to meet you in another episodes, I will leave you in the protection of Allah.

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of Creations
