In the Name of Allah, The Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Question:

Dear Dr. Nabulsi

Bismillah –Ir-Rahman-Ir-Rahim

Can you please give me Quranic verssets healing quackery?

Jaza k Allah

Answer

Faith healing (Ruqya: incantation using Islamic texts) entails three conditions:
1- It should be done using Allah’s words (Quran), using his attributes and names, or using reported prophetic Ahadith.
2- It should be said in Arabic language and should be understandable.
3- One should believe that faith healing is not effective alone, but it is effective by Allah’s decree.
Once these three conditions are taken into consideration, faith healing will totally Islamic.
The prophet PBUH said:

((Faith healing (incantation) is fine as long as it doesn’t involve polytheism))

[Mulsim]

The most effective faith healing is the one done by the person himself according to reported prophetic text, unlike what is well-known among lot of people which is to look for someone (even if he is ignorant or sorcerer) to do it.
Al Fatihah Surat, is the most effective in faith healing for patients, and that is because this great Surat contains sincerity in worship, praising Allah the Almighty, depending on Him in all matters, seeking His help, putting trust in Him, and asking Him for graces.
Moreover, there are lot of prophetic text about faith healing that is used by the prophet PBUH to heal the one who was bitten by an insect, it was reported by Bukhari that he said:

((With Allah's Name I shelter you (give you ruqyah), from all that ails you, from the evil of every soul, or that of the envious eyes. May Allah cure you; with Allah's Name I shelter you.))

[Muslim]

When the prophet PBUH used to ache in parts of his body, he used to put his hand on the pain and says:

((I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allaah, from every devil and every poisonous reptile, and from every bad eye))

Faith healing is effective against envy, insanity, and physical diseases, the prophet PBUH said:

((The influence of an evil eyes is a fact; if anything would precede the destiny it would be the influence of an evil eye))

[Mulsim]

Aishah, May Allah be pleased with her, said:

((The Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) ordered me to do ruqyah for an evil eye that might have befallen me))

[Bukhari]

Also the Prophet saw in Umm Salamah’s house a girl whose face had a black spot. He said:

((She is under the effect of an evil eye; so treat her with a Ruqya))

[Bukhari]

((The Prophet (peace be upon him) set out accompanied by some people towards Makkah. They reached the mountain pass of Al-Kharar in Al-Juhfah, and there Sahl ibn Hanif bathed himself. He was a white man with a handsome body and skin. `Amir ibn Rabi`ah, one of the family members of Banu `Ady ibn Ka`b, looked at him while he was taking a bath and said, 'I have never seen the like of what I have seen today, not even the skin of a virgin in a boudoir,' and immediately Sahl suffered a seizure and fell to the ground. He was brought to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and it was said, 'O Messenger of Allah, can you do anything for Sahl; by Allah he cannot raise his head or recover consciousness.' He (peace be upon him) said, 'Do you accuse anyone with regard to him?' They said, '`Amir ibn Rabi`ah looked at him.' The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) summoned `Amir and spoke angrily to him, saying, 'Why would one of you kill his brother? If you see something that you like, why do you not supplicate Allah's blessings on it?' Then he said to him, 'Wash yourself for him.' So he washed his face, hands, forearms, knees, the ends of his feet, and the inside of his Izar (garment worn below the waist) in a vessel. Then that water was poured over Sahl - a man was pouring it over his head and back from behind. He was titling the vessel to pour it out on him from behind. This was done to him, then Sahl got up and joined the people and there was nothing wrong with him.))

Furthermore, the most effective thing to do against black magic and evil of all kinds is to maintain morning and evening laudations (thikr), to submit to Allah the Almighty, and to read Ayah of Kursi, Ikhlas, and Moawathat after every Salah and before going to sleep, also to read the last two Ayahs in Al Baqarah every night according to the following Hadith:

((Read Al-Baqarah, because in having it there is blessing, and in ignoring there is a sorrow and the sorceresses cannot memorize it.))

[Muslim]
And in another Hadith:

((Two thousand years before creating the heavens and the Earth, Allah inscribed a book of which He sent down two verses with which He concluded surat al-Baqarah. The Devil will not come near a house in which they are reauthord three nights.))

[Tirmidhi ]

((In Bukhari, Satan told Abu Huraira: “Whenever you go to bed, reauthor “Ayat-al-Kursi”– ‘Allahu la ilaha illa huwa-l-Haiy-ul Qaiyum’ till you finish the whole verse. (If you do so), Allah will appoint a guard for you who will stay with you and no satan will come near you till morning. ” so when he told the prophet PBUH he said, “He really spoke the truth, although he is an absolute liar.)) One should maintain reciting Surat Al Ikhlas and the Moawathat three times every night and every morning, because it was reported that the prophet PBUH said: ((Say [reauthor] (Qul Huw allaahu Ahad) [Suraatul Ikhlaas] and al-M aw ’idhatayn ( Suratul Falaq and Suratun Naas ) three times in the morning and the evening; they will suffice you from everything.))

[Narrated by Ahmad]

Also one should supplicate in late night and in his Sujood, because Allah the Almighty says:

<>

[Al-Baqarah, 186]

Ibn Al Qayem, May Allah have mercy on his soul, had mentioned faith healing in his book “Al Zad”, he said:
Ruqia and faith healing is done by Reciting al-M aw ’idhatayn ( Suratul Falaq and Suratun Naas ), Al Fatiha, and Al Kursi verse in abundance, also it is done by using the  prophetic supplications such like:

I seek refuge with the Perfect Words of Allah from the evil of what He has created

 and like:

I seek refuge with Allaah’s perfect words from every Shaytaan (devil) and poisonous creature and every evil eye

 And like:
I seek refuge in the Face of Allah the Munificent and in Allah's perfect words which neither the righteous nor the disobedient overstep from the evil of what descends from the heaven and the evil of what ascends to it and the evil of what is created in the earth and the trials of the night and the day and the visitors of the night and the day except the visitor that comes with goodness, O Beneficent One!

 And like:
I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from His anger, from His punishment, from the evil of His servants and from the suggestions of devils. And I seek refuge in You, my Lord, from their presence

 And like:
I seek refuge in the Face of Allah the Munificent and in Allah's perfect words from the evil of what Allah has grasp of its forelock, O Allah, you are the One Who removes hardship and affliction, O Allah your soldiers are not to be defeated and your promise is not to be broken, You are far exalted and praise be to You

 And like:
I seek refuge in the Face of Allah the Munificent, in Allah's perfect words which neither the righteous nor the disobedient overstep and in Allah’s best attributes that which I have known and that which I haven’t, from the evil of what Allah created, and from the evil of every evil that which I have no power to stand up against, and from every evil Allah has grasp of his forelock . Verily, my Lord is on the Straight Path (the truth).

 And like:
O Allah, you are my Lord, there is no God but you, in you I put my trust, and you are the Lord of the great throne, whatever Allah has decreed shall come to pass, and whatever Allah hasn’t decreed shall not come to pass, There is no power and strength except with Allah, I know that Allah is Able to do all things, I know that Allah surrounds (comprehends) all things in (His) Knowledge, and He (Allah) keeps count of all things (i.e. He knows the exact number of everything). O Allah I seek refuge with you from the evil of myself and the evil of Satan and his Shirk, and from the evil of every creature that which you have grasp of its forelock. Verily, my Lord is on the Straight Path (the truth).

 And like:
I fortify myself with Him, who is the only God, My Lord and the Lord of everything, and I resort to my Lord, the Lord of everything, and I put my trust in The Ever Living and Who suffers no death, and I resist evil with “There is no power and strength except with Allah”, Allah will suffice me and He is the Best Disposer of affairs, Lord will suffice me from His servants, The Creator will suffice me from creations, The Provider will suffice me from those whom He provides with the means of subsistence, The One with whose hands is the possession of every thing will suffice me, for He is the one who gives help and He is in no need of anyone’s help, Allah will suffice me and that is enough for me, may Allah hear the one who supplicates, Allah is the purpose and only Him, Allah will suffice me, There is no God but Him, in Him I put my trust, and He is the Lord of the great throne.
He who practices supplication and remembrance of Allah is aware of its benefit and its necessity. It prevents the effect of the evil eye from reaching the one who is being envied. It also drives away the evil eye after reaching him which depends on the strength of the faith of the one saying it. It also depends on his will power, his readiness, and his dependence on Allah for it is a weapon that depends on the user.

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of Creations
