In the Name of Allah, The Most Gracious, Most Merciful

 Dear Dr. Nabulsi

My question is regarding to the authenticity of the salatu tasbih.please can u tell me the with the evidence from scholars and whether it is permissible to offer it?

 Thank you

Salatu Attasabih is sunna and the evidence is the following authenitc hadith:

Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) said to his uncle (father’s brother) Abbass (may Allah be pleased with him): Oh uncle shall I not give you Shall I not grant you Shall I not award you? When you do 10 things Allah will forgive your sins: of the future and of the past; new and old; those you have forgotten and those you did knowingly; big and small; hidden and revealed. You perform four rak'aas in each one you reauthor Al-Fatiha and a sura of the Quran, when you finish reading say: Subhana Allah, Al-hamdulillah, la ilaha illa Allah, and Allahu Akbar (Glory be to Allah, praise be to Allah, there is no god but Allah, and Allah is the Greatest) 15 times, then you make ruku' and say it 10 times in ruku'. you raise and say it 10 times, go down for prostration (sujoud) and say it 10 times, raise from sujoud and say it 10 times, do a second sujoud and say it 10 times, and raise your head and say it 10 times. This will make 75 tasbeeh in each rak'a, and you reapeat it in each rak'a. Then he said: if you can pray this salah once a day do it, if not then do it once a week, if this is not possible do it once a month, if this is not possible do it once a year, and even if this is not possible then at least once in a lifetime."
This hadith is considered authentic by most scholars of hadith including Al- Hafeth bin Hajar.

 Best regards
