first of all allow me to thank you for all things you did and are doing to serve THE DEEN. I am happy to be part of this as a beneficent of the services you are delivering. this time i have a question that i hope you would give it due attention. i am a student in a university where majority of the students are from Turkey. i give formal recognition that in Islam there are four Major school of thoughts. I am from a country where the majority people are practicing both Hanafee and Shafee "mathihab". but we have all common procedures as far as prayer is concerned. Actualy i do not see any difference in this community too where by now am living. But the prayer is "prefixed" and "suffixed" with some ceremonial events. for example after the immam finishes the Zuhur prayer the muaazeen immediately continue to say a bit some thing very short loudly and every body gets up and pray four raka non-obligatory salats and then they continue to say the azkars while the muazeeen is leading it. How ever i do follow different proceedure. for example after the immam finishs i keep sitting and continue zikr.... and if you see around it is only me to sit and do that while every body is performing the nawafil as i told. this gives me not comfort though am doing it even now. what do you advise me what a reconciliation would you have so that i feel free and come to the jamaa to pray and benefited from. thank you very much (keep my Name with you) FiamanillahThank you
AnswerIt is a supererogatory performance (Sunnah) to stay sitting after Faridah (the obligatory act of worship) in order to say Azkar which are ( Tasbeeh 33 times (by saying Subhana Allah), Tahmeed 33 times (by saying Alhamdulelah), Takbeer 33 times (by saying Allaho Akbar) and you end the one hundred times of Azkar by saying La Ilaha Illa Allah Wahdahoo La Shareek Laho, Laho Al Mulk Wa Laho Al Hamd Wa Howah Ala Kulli Shai’en Kadeer), then you read Ayah Al Kursee (Allah! La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), the Ever Living, the One Who sustains and protects all that exists. Neither slumber, nor sleep overtake Him. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on earth. Who is he that can intercede with Him except with His Permission? He knows what happens to them (His creatures) in this world, and what will happen to them in the Hereafter . And they will never compass anything of His Knowledge except that which He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and He feels no fatigue in guarding and preserving them. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.), and you read Al Mu’awazat ( Al-Ikhlaas, Al-Falaq and An-Naas), after all that you start praying the Nafilah (The sunnah of the Fard Salah), and in case you were to go home, then it is an act of Sunnah to perform the Nafilah at your house.
