Interpretation of the Quran- Surat Al- Kawthar (108)- Lesson (1): Allah's gifts to His prophet and to the believers

In the Name of Allah, The Most Gracious, Most Merciful

The Beautiful Names relate to Allah’s Actions:

O gracious brother, the surah of today is Al-Kauthar, Allah said:

“1-Verily, We have granted you (O Muhammad [p.b.u.h]) Al-Kauthar (a river in Paradise). 2-Therefore turn in prayer to your Lord and sacrifice (to Him only). 3-For he who hates you (O Muhammad [p.b.u.h]), he will be cut off (from posterity and every good thing in this world and in the Hereafter).”

(Al-Kauthar)

"We" a pronoun: that includes His Beautiful Names (all Allah’s Names are Beautiful). All Allah’s actions contain mercy, kindness, wisdom, mighty, richness. And all of His Beautiful Names are involved in His actions. Allah said:

“14-Verily, I am Allah! La ilaha illa Ana (none has the right to be worshipped but I), so worship Me and perform Salat for My Remembrance.”

(Ta-Ha, 14)

Verily (I am), when Allah wants to speak about Himself, He uses:” I”, but when He wants to indicate His actions He uses:” We”.
In this surah, give you; “you” is the Prophet (p.b.u.h).

Anas reported: One day the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was sitting among us, he dozed off, then he raised his head smiling. We said: What makes you smile Messenger of Allah? He said: A Sura has just been revealed to me, and then reauthord: In the name of Allah, the Compassionate and the Merciful. Verily We have given you Kauthar (fount of abundance). Therefore turn to your Lord for prayer and offer sacrifice, and surely your enemy is cut off (from the good). Then the Prophet said: Do you know what the Kauthar is? We said: Allah and His Messenger know best. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: It (Kauthar) is a river which my Lord, the Exalted and Glorious has promised me, and there is an abundance of good in it. My people would come to it on the Day of Resurrection and its cups would be equal to the number of stars. A servant would be turned away from (among the people gathered there).Upon this I would say: My Lord, he is one of my people, and He (the Lord) would say: You do not know what he had innovated new things (in Islam) after you.

(Muslim)

Allah all Mighty created us to teach us how to know Him:

(We have given [granted] you)

from Allah means a great thing. For example: if we say: the king gave so and so…even if the statement was not completed, it means that his granting is big. It is unreasonable that the king’s given could be just a pen. At least his giving would be, for example, a car or a house. So when Allah the Great and Almighty said: We have granted you, this means that this granting is very big. Therefore, many interpretations were mentioned about Al –Kauthar, one of them is the "Prophet Hood" which is the utmost grant. The Prophets are the prime of mankind and our Prophet Muhammad is the master of the Prophets and Messengers [p.b.u.t].
Some said: it means the Qur'an that was descended down to him.
Some said: it means his gracious Companions, those great men whom Allah chosen for his Prophet.
And some said: it is the wisdom, and Allah’s Saying confirms this:
 Allah said:

“269-He grants Hikmah (wisdom) to whom He pleases, and he, to whom hikmah is granted, is indeed granted abundant good. But none remember except (men or women) of understanding.”

(Al-Baqarah-269)

Through Hikmah (wisdom and knowledge) you know that this worldly life is not perpetual, so you seek the perpetual (eternal) world. And when you granted wisdom you know the reason for your existence in this world (worshiping your creator “Allah”). So you work for Paradise. Before we explain this subject, Al-Kauthar, a brief introduction should be given.
Allah, the Great and Almighty was alone and nothing was with him. Then, He willed to create the uniayah including human. Why did He create them? It is a big question. Any human with the least intelligence would not perform any task unless there is a reason or purpose behind it. For example: if you cannot hear something well, you would move closer so you can hear it. Allah created this uniayah and everything in it for a reason. This uniayah with its millions and millions of galaxies, stars, planets and the earth with everything in it and on it was created for a reason. That reason is to know Him (Allah). And when human know him they will be happy (the true happiness) with him.

Mankind and Jinn accepted to undertake Al-amanah:

 Allah said:

“72-, We did offer Al-Amanah (freedom of choice, and voluntarily using this option to abide by what Allah has prescribed) to the heavens and the earth, and the mountains, but they refused to undertake it and were afraid of it (i.e. afraid of Allah's Torment). But man undertook it. Verily, he was unjust (to himself) and ignorant (of its results).”

(Al-Ahzab,72)

This means that all what you see is created, everything; the mountain, the water, the plant...etc.
Our Lord the Great and Almighty offered a limitless granting, a giant one, it is the greatest offer that He gave to any of His creation, but they declined. The angels feared Al-Amanah, so they put themselves in Allah's possession, glorifying Him and they never get tired. The animals feared it also, and wanted to be in this life without bearing responsibility for their actions, they got their wish, living for their desires without any accountability. However, mankind and jinn accepted it. So what is the reality of Al-Amanah? Allah gave mankind the mind (the ability to think and reason) to use it as a tool to explore the uniayah which will lead them to Allah. So with the mind and the uniayah we know Allah. Allah planted desires in us (sex, love of money and self…). With these desires we can get closer to Allah and gain eternal happiness or descend to lowest level below the animals and enter hell. It is our choice and based on that choice you can live forever in paradise or hell. So when mankind comes to earth use their mind and the uniayah to know Allah and then follow His orders they will get the greatest reward: His blessing and paradise forever. What are Allah’s orders? Allah said:

“40- But as for him who feared standing before his Lord, and restrained himself from impure evil desires and lusts. 41-Verily, Paradise will be his abode.”

(An-Nazi’at, 40-41)

You, “mankind”, is the creature to whom Al-Amanah was offered, and you accepted it. Accepted it means: that you accept to come to this world. Allah gave you mind along with desires and lusts. He created the entire uniayah for you to know Him through it. So whoever thinks about the uniayah, the great power behind it and does good deeds to bring himself closer to Allah deserves this precious offer, Allah said:

“72-, We did offer Al-Amanah (freedom of choice, and voluntarily using this option to abide by what Allah has prescribed) to the heavens and the earth, and the mountains, but they refused to undertake it and were afraid of it (i.e. afraid of Allah's Torment). But man undertook it. Verily, he was unjust (to himself) and ignorant (of its results).”

(Al-Ahzab,72)

Mankind and jinn accepted to bear Al-Amanah and be responsible for their actions. They have been given the opportunity to live in ultimate happiness forever. They are the top of the creation.
The man was created with mind and desires, the animal with desires without mind and the angels with mind without desires. So when man's mind controls his desires, he becomes better than the angel, and if his desires control his mind, he becomes worse than the animal.
The Prophet [p.b.u.h] came to this world, and he undertook Al-Amanah(trust), fulfilled it duly, he worshipped Allah the Great and Almighty, obeyed Him, and knew Him, so he became very happy with Him, hence we say: O Allah, send Your Blessings on our master Muhammad, O Allah, send Your Blessings on the happiest of us, Muhammad. He is the happiest man ever at all by his knowledge of Allah.
Because you are a human you undertook Al-amanah, and you have your chance, either you will be happy with it forever, or tortured forever. The endless torture, the opposite of the endless happiness, is given to mankind and jinn if they betray Al-Amanah(trust, responsibility, things entrusted to them, duties).

Allah’s gifts in this life:

Every merit is corresponded with a responsibility. The endless happiness Allah prepared for mankind and jinn correspond with the duty of undertaking the Al-Amanah. And if they misuse Al-Amanah, Allah will bring them to account severely.
In our life, man was given vast qualifications, with the appearance of honor (or has a sense of pride), if he doesn't use these qualifications as they should be used, he will receive a severe reckoning, and if he fails to fulfill Allah's orders, he would be tortured forever.
It is enough that the Prophet [p.b.uh] came to this world to teach us about Al-Amanah, and to teach us about the purpose of our creation. Why were we brought to this world? What is the most precious thing in this life? Allah said:

“1-Verily, We have granted you (O Muhammad [p.b.u.h]) Al-Kauthar (a river in Paradise).”

Now, I should stop at this point, Allah's giving in this life. Whatever Allah gives to man in this life isn't called the great or true giving at all, because it ends with death. The death ends everything, the wealth, the prestige, welfare, the luxurious house…etc. Death comes to put the end of all the pleasures of this world, so this is not the great or true giving of Allah. This is affirmed by hadith of Sahl ibn S'ad,
Sahl ibn S'ad narrated that Allah's Messenger [p.b.u.h] said:

“ If the worldly life equals a wing of a mosquito to Allah, He wouldn't have given a mouthful of water to a disbeliever* “

(At-Termidhi)

"Verily, this worldly life is a temporary offer that (both) Al-Barr (the pious) and Al-Fajer (the evil –doer) eat from it"
"Verily, Allah gives the worldly life to the ones who He likes and dislikes (or loves and doesn't love).
"O, my son, nothing is good if it is succeeded by the Hell-fire"
"O, my son, nothing is good if it is succeeded (followed) by the Hell-fire, and nothing is bad if it is succeeded by Paradise, and any blessings without Paradise are disdained, and every affliction, except the Fire, is a safety".
"The (real) richness and poverty are after bringing before Allah the Exalted and Glorious".

The greatest happiness is to know Allah:

Therefore, if you think that when Allah gives somebody money, for example, and it is a true giving from Allah, you are mistaken, Allah said:

“126-And (remember) when Ibrahim said, "My Lord, make this city (Mecca) a place of security and provide its people who believes in Allah and the Last Day." He (Allah) answered: "As for the one who disbelieve, I shall leave him in contentment for a while, then I shall compel him to the torment of Fire, and worst indeed that destination!"

(Al-Baqarah-126)

“I (God) have created for you (mankind) all of what in the heavens and earth without being tired, providing a loaf of bread to you do not make me tired neither. You mankind has obligation to Me and I am the provider for you. If you do not perform your obligation I still provide for you. By My Glory and Majesty if you are not satisfied with what I provided for you, I will let the world be on you. You will run like a wild animal and you will not gain anything from this life accept what I have provided for you, and I do not care. You will be with the ones whom I do not like”

The ultimate happiness is to know Allah, to know why He created you in this world and to know what the most valuable thing in it is.
Every man (or women) might have an idea about the most precious thing in this life. This thing could be: money, fulfilling own desires, a prestige position, a Ph.D. …etc. And many work day and night to obtain that thing.
If you know what the true most precious thing in this life is and follow the correct path to achieve it, you will be the happiest man or women. So many people thought money, job, degree…etc. will bring them true happiness and end up being disappointed.
 Allah said:

“103-Say (O Muhammad [p.b.u.h]):"Shall We tell you who is the greatest losers in respect of their deeds? 104- "Those whose efforts have been wasted in this life while they thought they were acquiring good deeds 105-"They are the ones who deny the Ayat (revelations, proofs, evidences, ayahs, lessons…etc.) of their Lord and the Meeting with Him (in the Hereafter). So their works are in vain, and on the Day of Resurrection, We shall assign no weight for them. 106-"That shall be their reward: Hell; because they disbelieved and took My revelations and My Messengers as a joke.”

(Al-Kahf,103-106)

Brief definition of worship:

“1-By Al-'Asr (the time). 2-Verily, man is in loss. 3- Except those who believe and do righteous good deeds, and command one another to the truth, and recommend one another to patience.”

(Al-'Asr)

Our Lord, the Great and Almighty, created us to worship Him, to make us happy, to show His Mercy on us, Allah said:

“56. And I (Allah) have not created the jinn and mankind except to worship Me (Alone).57-I do not seek any provision from them (i.e. provision for themselves or for My creatures) nor do I ask that they should feed Me.58-Verily, Allah is the all-Provider, Owner of Power, the Invincible.”

(Adh-Dhariyat, 56-58)

This means that we know him by being happy and close to him. This is the brief definition of worship, three stages; to know Him then to obey Him and then be happy by getting close to him, this is the goal.

Meanings of the word “kawthar”:

When man comes to this world, knowing the goal, and concentrates his efforts towards one destination he will achieve ultimate success. A person at loss is the one who does not know why he is on this earth. It was narrated:
"The hypocrite is like a camel. Its owner tied it then released it. The camel does not know why it was tied or why it was released."
So, our Lord comforts His Prophet [p.b.u.h] and promises him with a plenty of good.

“1-Verily, We have granted you (O Muhammad [p.b.u.h]) Al-Kauthar (a river in Paradise).”

What is Al-Kauthar?

Some interpreted it a river in Paradise, and this was mentioned by the Prophet, and some said: it is the Basin in the Day of Resurrection.
Some said: it is the noble Qur'an.
Some said: it is being a Prophet.
Some said: it means the Prophet gracious Companions.
Some said: the great fame (raising his fame) on the earth and in the heavens, La ilaha illallah, Muhammad Rasool Allah "None has the right to be worshipped but Allah, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah", his name was connected with Allah's Name, in Adan (the calling to prayer) and in the prayers, and in many worships.
And some said: it is a light cast in the Prophet's heart, which guided him to Allah.
And some said: it means the five prayers.
But the most correct of all of this, is Al –Kauthar means the plentiful good, it means all what was mentioned and other things that we do not know them.
And some said: it is Al-hikmah (wisdom).
If you know that there is a treasure in this building that would be sufficient for you for thousands of years, this knowledge is more valuable than the treasure itself, because you knew the treasure is there by this knowledge, this is Al-Hikmah (wisdom, knowledge). It is what makes you know that Allah is more precious than anything /anybody else. If you know Allah, you know everything. But if you did not know Him, you missed everything. You know that who obeys Allah and His Messenger will have the greatest win. And who disobeys Allah and His Messenger will have the greatest loss.
By Al-Hikmah, you know that only Allah Who deserve love, and nobody else deserves it with Him.

Hikmah is the great grant of Allah to prophets:

The ayahs that speak about the Great Grant of Allah:

“22-And when he [Yusuf (Joseph)] attained his full manhood, We gave him wisdom and knowledge: thus We reward the Muhsinun (doers of good).”

(Yusuf-22)

“ 76-Verily, Qaroon was of Moses’s people, but he behaved arrogantly towards them. And We gave him of the treasures in which the keys would have been a burden to a body of strong men. His people said to him:" Do not exult (with riches, being ungrateful to Allah). Verily Allah does not like those who exult (with riches, being ungrateful to Allah).”

(Al-Qasas,76)

The keys only, not the treasures themselves, seven strong men couldn't carry them, just imagine how big the treasures, this what Allah gave Qaroon, but He gave the Prophets and Messengers Al-Hikmah?, Allah said:

“2-He (Allah) it is Who sent among the unlettered people a Messenger (Muhammad [p.b.u.h]) from among themselves, reciting to them His Ayahs, purifying them (from the filth of disbelief and polytheism), and teaching them the Book and Al-Hikmah. And verily, they had been before in gross error”

(Al-Jumu'ah-2)

If you are given something of Al-Hikmah no one, in this world, would be happier than you except the one who is more pious than you.

Happiness comes from Hikmah not wealth:

If you feel that Allah gave a disobedient person wealth and He did not give you any of that wealth (and you think the wealth is the ultimate way to happiness) you are not a believer. Allah said:

“ 79-So he went forth before his people in his pomp. Those who sought the life of the world, said:"Ah, we wish we have what Qaroon have! He is indeed a very lucky man."

“80-But those who had been given (religious) knowledge said: "Woe to you! The Reward of Allah (in the Hereafter) is better for those who believe and do righteous good deeds, and this none shall attain except those who are As-Sabirun (the ones with patience)." 81-So We caused the earth to swallow him and his dwelling. Then he had no host to help him against Allah, nor was he one of those who could save themselves.”

(Al-Qasas,79-81)

This is what the people nowadays say: so and so, how lucky he is, he owns an indescribable house, a three-million-pound shop, a hotel which its daily income is five thousands, a land that its price has doubled thirty times, a farm that yields five hundred pounds a year and so on. You can see how their saliva poured down when these numbers are mentioned. They did not know Allah, the Great and Almighty, and I wish they knew Him. The one who knew Him, knew everything (knew the truth), and the one who did not know Him, did not know anything (missed the truth). The real happiness (knowing the truth) can be gained by Al-Hikmah, and the attending of these lessons leads you to it and teaches you how to deal with life. Allah said:

“108-Say (O Muhammad [p.b.u.h]:"This is my way; I invite you to Allah with sure knowledge which I and my followers possess. And Glorified and Exalted be Allah. And I am not of the Mushrikun (polytheists).”

(Yusuf-108)

The Quran has meanings and it is miraculously brief:

If one is given everything; wealth, prestige, house, farm, a summer house, wife and children, we say: he has a part of everything, he possessed the whole glory, this is in this life. Allah the Great and Almighty addressed His Prophet [p.b.u.h] saying: Verily, We have granted you Al-Kauthar, and the Prophet interpreted it as the plentiful good. Plentiful from Allah means very plentiful. “We have granted you” granted here means great granting, the grant of the Great is great.

The circle of thinking is endless:

It was narrated that a woman asked a prince something. He gave her very generously. Some of his friends blamed him for this granting, they said to him: O prince, she can be satisfied with little, and she does not know that you are a generous man, he replied with an answer that it deserves to be written with gold, he said:" if she is satisfied with the little, I am only satisfied with the plenty and if she doesn’t know me, I know myself ". Allah said:

“38- O you who believe! What is the matter with you, that when you are asked to march forth in the Cause of Allah (i.e. Jihad) you cling heavily to the earth? Are you pleased with the life of this world rather than the Hereafter? The comfort of this life is so little compared to the Hereafter.”

(At-Taubah-38)

This ayah confirms the significance of the previous story…so little.

“77-…Say: "Short is the enjoyment of this world. The Hereafter is (far) better for him who fears Allah, and rest assured that you will not be wronged equal to the fiber of a date-stone.”

(An-Nisa', from ayah 77)

The Great( Allah) says to you: “ I have prepared to My good (righteous) slaves what no eye has ever seen, what no ear has ever heard, and that has not ever come to a human's heart (mind) ( never had imagined)”*

(Al-Bukhari, from Abu Huraira)

The circle of sights is limited, but the circle of hearing is very big. You maybe haven't ever seen a person who weighs three hundred kilos but you, perhaps, heard or read about him. You maybe haven't yet seen a one hundred and two - story skyscraper, but saw one of thirty or forty floors. Many events happen in the world we hear about them without seen them. So the information you obtain from hearing is a lot more than from seeing. Perhaps you thought of a thousand stories building or a man who his daily income reaches one hundred billion dollars. This is just imaginations. So imagination can be unlimited.

We came to life to know Allah and obey Him:

You were created for this life. And everything in this life is created to guide you to know Allah. Like being in a school and everything in it is to help you learn.
Narrated Qatada that the Prophet [p.b.u.h] used to say when he sees the crescent moon:

” A crescent of good and rightness, a crescent of good and rightness, a crescent of good and right, I believe in Whom He created you three times, then he says: Praised be to Allah Who took this month and brought to us this month*”

(Abu Dawud)

In this life there are books which contain explanations and illustrations so you understand and know the book. Allah said:

“17- Do they not look at the camels, how they are created? 18- The sky, how it is raised high? 19- The mountains, how they are firmly set? 20-And the earth, how it is spread out? “

(Al-Ghashiyah)

“1-By the sun and its brightness. 2-By the moon as it follows it (the sun).”

You are in a school, all this life is like a school (learning and testing), you came to it to know Allah, and to take the straight path to Him, to do good deeds that bring you closer to Him, to reject your lusts that He planted in you, in order that when the time of meeting with Him comes, you would be happy with your closeness to Him forever.
This is the secret of creation and the goal behind the creation of mankind (to know Allah and to worship Him).

The best gift is guidance:

“1-Verily, We have granted you (O Muhammad [p.b.u.h]) Al-Kauthar (a river in Paradise).2-Therefore turn in prayer to your Lord and sacrifice (to Him only).”

These bounties are from Allah, but the scholars said: the great bounty is the guidance, it represents number one, and the wealth is zero, they become ten, the marriage is another zero, they become one hundred, the children are the third zero, and the prestige (high social status) is the forth, now, if you omit the number one, all the zeros (bounties) are worthless. Allah said:

“25-How many of gardens and springs that they left behind, 26-And green crops and goodly places, 27-And comforts of life wherein they used to take delight! 28- And We made other people inherit them.
29- The heavens and the earth wept not for them, nor were they given a respite.”

(Ad-Dukhan,25-29)

However the true blessing is the guidance to Allah:

“2-That Allah may forgive you your sins of past and the future, and perfect His blessings upon you and guide you on the Straight Path,
3-And that Allah may bestow on you His mighty help.”

(Al-Fath,2-3)

The mankind considers money (wealth) as a comfort or a blessing.

“15- As for man, when his Lord tries him by giving him honor and blessings, then he says:" My Lord is bountiful to me" 16-But when He tries him by restricting his provisions, he says:" My Lord has humiliated me!" 17-Nay!”

(Al-Fajr)

Allah answers: this statement isn't correct: My Giving in this world is not an honoring, it is a test, and My restricting isn't a dishonoring, it is a treatment. If Allah gives you wealth He is testing you. And when you spend it properly to please Him, now the money becomes a blessing. So this money started as a test then became a blessing. He gave you a wife, and when you teach her about Allah, and order her to veil herself, you both live happily with each other, now the wife is a blessing.

Prayer is a requirement of the blessing:

“15- As for man, when his Lord tries him by giving him honor and blessings, then he says:" My Lord is bountiful to me"”

This is what man says, it is his opinion, and it is incorrect.

“16-But when He tries him by restricting his provisions, he says:" My Lord has humiliated me!"

If one is afflicted with a disease, or in his income, his goods destroyed, his shop burnt to the ground, one of his children died this isn't a humiliation, it is a treatment.

“16-But when He tries him by restricting his provisions, he says:" My Lord has humiliated me!17- No. 2-Therefore turn in prayer to your Lord and sacrifice (to Him only).”

The essence of religion:

A requirement for the blessings not to become a barrier between you and Allah is:

“turn in prayer to your Lord and sacrifice (to Him only)”.

The essence of the religion is a relation with Allah and providing help to all His creatures. This is the whole religion. If you know Him, you will have a loving relation with Him and be very happy with His closeness. You thank Him by helping and being kind to all His creation. The most loveable one is the one who do the most in helping sh3er not just Muslims, but all people. Look at this ayah how beautiful it is.

“2-Therefore turn in prayer to your Lord and sacrifice (to Him only).”

To your Lord only, without any dissimulation:
"Whoever hasn't a piety that prevents him from disobedience to Allah when he is alone, Allah doesn't care about anything of his work"
"If the slave offers his prayer in private as in public, he is My real slave", because he is sincere and honest.

“2-Therefore turn in prayer to your Lord and sacrifice (to Him only).”

The most acceptable interpretation is to make sacrifices, He mentioned one good deed, but He meant to do all good deeds. Another example is Allah’s saying:

“1-Have you seen him who denies the Day of Judgment? 2-He it is who drives away the orphan with harshness.”

Someone perhaps might ask: Why did Allah mention specifically these two offences?
Because the first one is the most awful deed and you commit an offence when you deny anybody your help, and this offence is bigger when this person is an orphan, and it gets bigger more and more when you harm him.

“3- And does not encourage the feeding of the poor”

This means he doesn't do any good deed, even if it is a word. And no matter how bad the deed, he does it.
Also,

“2-Therefore turn in prayer to your Lord and sacrifice (to Him only).”

If you hope to meet Allah the price is known and the door is open:

It means communicate with Allah (meaning get to the state where you feel that Allah with you all the time) and do the good deeds to bring yourself closer to Him.

“110-Say (O Muhammad [p.b.u.h]):"I am only a man like you. It has been revealed to me that your God is One God, so whoever hopes for the Meeting with his God let him work righteousness and do not associate any partner in worshiping of his God (Allah)."”

(Al-Kahf-110)

Sometimes you wish to meet a person, and it is said to you that he is very busy this week or he is traveling or there are eighty persons waiting for him and you should wait. However, if you hope for the Meeting with Allah, the price is known and the door is always open.

Definition of religion as mentioned in the Quran:

Some said: this ayah (Al-Kahf 110) is a sum for the whole Qur'an.
What has been revealed to me? “That your God is One God”. Mankind hasn’t ever learned anything better than the Oneness of God (Allah). There is no provider, supplier, who endues with honor, and humiliates but Allah. If you only work for the one “Allah” He will take care of everything else for you.

“55- So plot against me, all of you, and give me no respite. 56-"I put my trust in Allah, my God and your God! There is no living creature whose destiny is not controlled by Him. Verily, my Lord is on the Straight Path.”

(Hud, 55-56)

“10-Verily, those who give Bai'ah (pledge) to you (O Muhammad [p.b.u.h]) they are giving Bai'ah to Allah. The Hand of Allah is over their hands. The one who will breaks his pledge, will break it at his own peril, and the one who will keep his pledge that he has made with Allah, will soon be given a great reward by Him.”

(Al-Fath, 10)

“54-Surely, His is the Creation, and His is the command. Blessed be Allah, the Lord of the worlds! (Mankind, jinn and all that exists)!”

(Al-A'raf, from ayah 54)

“20-And Allah judges with the truth (fairness), while those to whom they invoke besides Him, cannot judge anything. Certainly, Allah alone Who hears all and sees all.”

(Ghafir-20)

“11- And they will find besides Him no protector.”

(Ar-Ra'd, from ayah 11)

“62-Allah is the Creator of all things, and He is the Wakil (Trustee, Disposer of affairs, Guardian) over all things.”

(Az-Zumar-62)

“123-And to Allah belongs the Ghaib (Unseen) of the heavens and the earth, and to Him return all affairs (for decision). So worship Him (O Muhammad [p.b.u.h]) and put your trust in Him. And your Lord is not unaware of what you (people) do."

(Hud, 123)

“17-You killed them not, but Allah killed them. And you (O Muhammad [p.b.u.h]) threw not when you did throw, but Allah threw, so He might test the believers by a fair trial from Him. Verily, Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.”

(Al-Anfal, 17)

The content of all religions:

The message of Islam is the same as the message of every religion before it. Allah said:

“25-And We did not send any Messenger before you (O Muhammad [p.b.u.h]) but We revealed to him the same message: "There is none worthy of worship but Me, so worship Me Alone."

(Al-Anbiya'-25)

This is the goal of all religions.

"The best word that I and the Prophets before me said is La ilaha illalallh which mean: there is no God but Allah”.

Narrated Um Hani', Allah's Messenger [p.b.u.h] said:

“La ilaha illallah: is not preceded by any deed (work, i.e. no work better than it) and it leaves not any sin (i.e. to be cause of forgiveness) “

(Ibn Majah)

“La ilaha illalallh is My Fortress whomever enters it, will be safe from My Torture”

(The Workers' Treasure, from Ali)

The most important word and concept in the religion is the word and concept of At-Tawheed (Allah is one and has no associates), it is the whole religion, so know, not just say, that La ilaha illallah.

"Whoever says La ilaha illallah truthfully (truly believe in it), will enter Paradise, it was said: What is truthfully? He said: if it prevents him from doing what Allah forbids"

(At-Tabarani, from Zaid ibn Arkam)

"Whoever hasn't a piety that prevents him from disobedience to Allah when he is alone (in private place), Allah doesn't care about anything of his work".

Maintaining salat means to stay straight:

“ 2-Therefore turn in prayer to your Lord and sacrifice (to Him only).”

This is the religion. If one's prayer is formal (only for people to say he is praying), and he has no good deed, all his deeds are in vain. Someone will say in the Day of Judgment: we learned this science (it can be learning about religious matters), it will be said to him: you only learned so people will say “he knows”, take him to Fire.
We compiled this book, it contains list of the famous (names), index of the subjects, places, times, ayahs and hadith (Prophetic traditions), a preface and divided into chapters (or sections). And it was praised by many scientists and literati. It is well bound book, you were proud of it. But if you did not do it for the sake of Allah all your work is worthless.
The religion is a relationship with Allah, and providing help to all of His creatures. Anything you do that belongs to these two categories is fruitful, while any other work is a great loss.
After the death of a famous A'lim (scholar), who compiled one hundred books, his student saw him in a dream. He asked him: O master: what did Allah do with you? He said: those phrases (statements) gone and nothing stayed (was useful) but some raka'hs (prayers) that we did in the midnights.
This is the real relationship with Allah. Do you have one with Allah? Do you feel that when you stand before Allah (i.e. during prayer) you are devoting yourself to him, or it is just a prayer? He (the Prophet) said to a person who was praying: stand up and pray again, for that you didn't offer prayer., Iqamat-as-Salat (performing of the prayer) is not just to say: Allahu –Akbar (Allah is the Great), it is to establish relationship with Allah. Guard strictly your prayers, does not only mean that we go to the mosque upon hearing Adan (calling for prayer)? It also means doing the right things between prayers, being on the straight path (Allah’s path). So when the time for the next prayer you stand with devotion, not to be shy from Him.

“ 2-Therefore turn in prayer to your Lord and sacrifice (to Him only).”

It means to do good deeds in order to advance in this world and in the Hereafter. Anyone in this life who does not do good deeds his or her work is unacceptable by Allah. They told the prophet a woman perform plenty of prayers, gives Zakat and charity and fast, but she harms her neighbors with her tongue (talk bad about her neighbors), He (the Prophet) said: she is in hell fire.

The true meaning of Islam:

Islam is based on five pillars but they are not to be considered Islam itself. (Islam is a way of life, it encompass everything in life).
Narrated Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them), Allah's Messenger [p.b.u.h] said:

“Islam is based on five (principles): to testify that there is no God but Allah and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and to perform the prayers, to pay Zakat, to perform Hajj (pilgrimage to Mecca), and to fast during the month of Ramadan.”

(Agreed upon)

when An-Najashi (the king of Abyssinia) ask Ja'fer about the message of the Prophet [p.b.u.h]? He replied with: O king, we were an ignorant people. We used to worship idols. Eat dead animals and commit every kind of unlawful sexual intercourse. Break family's ties and harm the neighbor. The strong of us subdues the weak one. We were at this course until Allah sent a Messenger from us whom we know his lineage, honesty and chastity. He invited us to worship Allah Alone. To leave the stones and idols in which we and our fathers used to worship. He commanded us to be honest, to render back the trust, and to be good and kind with relatives and neighbors. To avoid the forbidden and bloodshed. Forbid us from unlawful sexual acts and lying. Forbid us from taking the property of the orphan and accusing chaste woman. He commanded us to worship Allah Alone and not to associate any partner with Him, perform prayer, pay Zakat (obligatory charity) and fast.

(Ahmad from Um Salamah)

This is Islam: it is truthfulness, honesty, piety, probity, being on the straight path and doing good deeds. The prayer itself isn't Islam, it is one its pillars. School is not a building. School is where knowledge is acquired. So prayer is not Islam. "Stand up and perform prayer, for that you didn't perform the prayer".

“If anyone’s prayer doesn't prevent him (or her) from doing sins: unlawful sexual intercourse, being in the state of disbelief, polytheism and doing every kind of evil wicked deed; the distance between him and Allah keeps getting further and further".

(Ahmad, book of asceticism)

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said,

"Whoever does not give up forged speech and evil actions, Allah is not in need of his leaving his food and drink (i.e. Allah will not accept his fasting.)"

(Al-Bukhari)

"Perform (or make) Hajj (pilgrimage) before you cannot make Hajj (i.e. before you die, or not be able to make it by reason or another)"

A time might come in when a man makes hajj and returns exactly as he went, still doing sins.

“1-Verily, We have granted you (O Muhammad[p.b.u.h]) Al-Kauthar (a river in Paradise). 2-Therefore turn in prayer to your Lord and sacrifice (to Him only).”

In order not to be kept away from Allah by His blessing (Allah blessings can make you forget where they came from) pray, and so you do not become unthankful to Allah perform the prayers. And to get closer to Allah the Great and Almighty, sacrifice (and do good deeds), this is the religion.

Evil people are under Allah’s control:

"The slave should not fear but his sin, and should not ask but his Lord"

(The Worker's Treasure, from Ali)

This Hadith summed up all the religion; do not fear anybody because he is in Allah's Hand; do not fear but Allah the Great and Almighty
Poetry:

Obey us, and we will lift the veils, for We are well-pleased with Our lovers
Seek refuge with us, to protect you from the bad life of evil doers

All bad people are in Allah's Hand. So either He let them hurt you, or He prevent them. My relationship is with Allah the Great and Almighty.
If somebody is hit with a stick, should he fight the stick? If he does, he is ignorant. Those bad people are sticks in Allah's Hand, they are medicines in His Pharmacy. A person sometimes has to deal with a bad man. The bad man scare him and takes his money, perhaps, because it was ill- gotten gains, Allah said:

“90-,Had Allah willed, indeed He would have given them power over you, and they would have fought you. So if they withdraw from you, and fight not against you, and offer you peace, then Allah has opened no way for you against them.”

(An-Nisa', from ayah 90)

Everything that happens is predestined be Allah:

“22-No calamity befalls on the earth or in yourselves but it is inscribed in the Book of Decrees (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz) before We bring it into existence. Verily, that is easy for Allah.”

(Al-Hadid-22)

The most reasonable interpretation of this ayah is: everyone has a book with Allah, in which all his deeds, bad and good, his states, prayers and social relationships… are recorded. And according to this book Allah the Great and Almighty sends calamity.
Before a calamity occurs, there is a detailed study of the affected person status. What was previously preordained it must happen, because Allah is All-Wise, All-Knowing. Allah looked at that person’s heart and saw its weakness and mistakes. Then Allah decided what is best for that person to bring him or her to the straight path. This is a simple explanation of the Divine Will. Everything happens according to Allah's Will,

"And the belief in the Divine Will and Fate removes the worry and sadness"

(Ibn Abi Shaibah in his classification, from Abu Huraira)

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying:

“A strong believer is better and is more lovable to Allah than a weak believer, and there is good in everyone, protect what benefit you and seek help from Allah and do not lose heart, and if anything comes to you, don't say: If I had not done that, it would not have happened so and so, but say: Allah did that what He had ordained to do and your "if" opens the gate for the Satan. “

(Muslim)

Meaning of Kada’ and Qadar:

Allah the Exalted and Glorious looks at our hearts all the time and every day. When He looks at a person’s heart and sees that person devoted himself to Him, He preordained to him an honor and rewards. But if He sees turning away from Him, He will preordain a treatment for him. When Allah decides to do something is called Al-Kada and when it happens it is the Al-Qadar.
Al-Kada and Al-Qadar are always to the advantage of mankind. Allah said

“26- Say (O Muhammad [p.b.u.h]):"O Allah! Possessor of the kingdom, You give the kingdom to whom You will, and You take the kingdom from whom You will, and You give honor to whom You will, and You disgrace whom You will. In Your Hand is the good. Verily, You are Able to do all things.”

(Al-Imran-26)

The giving honor is good, disgrace is good; giving is good, deprivation is also good; this is the interpretation of Allah's Statement:

“Do you not see that Allah has subjected to your benefit all that is in the heavens and in the earth, and has completed and perfected His Grace upon you (both) evident and hidden, Yet, there are some people who still argue about Allah without knowledge or guidance !”

(Luqman-20)

The evident are the blessings, the hidden are the calamities.

“1-Verily, We have granted you (O Muhammad [p.b.u.h]) Al-Kauthar (a river in Paradise).”

The Grace that Allah gave to His Prophet [p.b.u.h], we cannot know all of it. We think that the Qur'an is one of these grants, the Prophet Hood, Al-Hikma, a river in Paradise and there are so many grants which no one knows. We cannot grasp all what Allah's Grants upon His Prophet, but it is enough that

" Ask Allah Al-Wasila for me, they said: O Allah's Prophet, what is Al –Wasila ?, he said: it is the highest rank in Paradise that no one take it but (only) one man, I hope that I may be that one *

(At-Termidi, from Abu Huraira)

He (the prophet’s way) is the sole door (approach) to Allah, no one in the uniayah can come to Allah but from the door of Allah's Messenger. All the Prophets enter to Allah from the Door of the Prophet (i.e his path).

The ayah is for Prophet Muhammad and we have a share of it:

He is the master of all the Prophets and Messengers, and when he performed the prayer with them, being their Imam, is a clear evidence of his high status:
Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (May peace be upon him) as saying:

“I am the master of mankind in the day of judgment, I am the first to be resurrected and I will be the first intercessor and the first whose intercession will be accepted (by Allah). “

(Muslim)

“1-Verily, We have granted you (O Muhammad[p.b.u.h]) Al-Kauthar (a river in Paradise).”

This ayah for the Prophet and we have a share of it. If you act with complete uprightness and doing good deeds, you will feel that you have a status with Allah that no one knows accept the ones who reached it. You will feel a wonderful security, no worries, and no fears in your life, no grudge, no feeling of deprivation. These crushing feelings that most people suffer from you are safe from them, these are some (aspects) of Al-Kauthar. Allah said:

“61-Can a person to whom We promised an excellent promise (Paradise) –which he will find true; be like the one to whom We have made to enjoy the luxuries of this world, then on the Day of Resurrection, he will be among those brought up (to be punished in the Hell-fire)?”

(Al-Qasas-61)

The believer's feeling that he has a high rank with Allah.

“54-Verily, The Muttaqun (the pious) will be in the midst of Gardens and Rivers (Paradise).55-In a seat of truth (i.e. Paradise), near the Omnipotent King (Allah).”

(Al-Qamar, 54-55)

This seat, you are a believer, obedient to Allah, the Great and Almighty, prefer Allah's Side this feeling itself is Kauthar, you have a share in this ayah, but no one knows the longing but who he suffers from it, and the adoration but who he endures it.

The believer is promised with endless granting:

It is a fact that every ayah directed to the Prophet [p.b.u.h] the believer has a share in it according to his faith, uprightness, piety, devotion, asceticism, love and good deeds.

“1-Verily, We have granted you (O Muhammad [p.b.u.h]) Al-Kauthar (a river in Paradise).”

A Companion of the Prophet read this ayah frequently during his performance of the midnight prayer until the Fajr (the calling for dawn's prayer), he kept repeating it:

“102-Do those who disbelieved think that they can take My slaves [i.e. the angels, Allah's Messengers, Isa (Jesus) son of Maryam (Mary)] as Auliya' (lords, gods, protectors) besides Me? Verily, We have prepared Hell as an entertainment for the disbelievers.”

(Al-Kahf-102)

The Kauthar. You are a believer and promised by Allah with an endless granting. The granting begins in this life. Do not say my granting is after death and it is going to take a long time, no, granting begins in this worldly life but for whom?

“46-But for him who fears the standing before his Lord, there will be two Gardens (i.e. Paradise).”

(Ar-Rahaman-46)

"Abu Bakr is in Paradise"

(At-Termidi, from Abdurrahman ibn Auf)

Like this, the Prophet described him, now he is Paradise. And also the believer is in a paradise. If you look at the believer's heart you would find a great happiness. If this happiness is to be distribute to all the wretched people on earth it would be enough to make all of them happy, because the believer is with Allah.

Paradise is a real communication with Allah:

When a Muslim visits the Prophetic shrine, he describes his (spiritual) state: I wept for a half an hour. Why did you weep, o believer? That was because of the guidance and the teachings the Prophet came with which changed your life. You have had a relationship with him [p.b.u.h].
When one sits with a remarkable person of high status in his faith, not just in his knowledge, he would say: I felt happy and optimist. The hardship, worries, pessimism and melancholia disappeared. What happened? My Umma 's(nation's) Auliya' (the pious), whenever they are seen, Allah would be remembered by them:

“28-Those who believed (in the Oneness of Allah –Islamic Monotheism), and whose hearts find rest in remembrance of Allah: verily, in remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest.”

(Ar-R'ad-28)

"Verily, the hearts corrode (rust) as the iron corrodes, it was said: what is their polish (how can they be polished) O, Allah's prophet? He said: by reciting the Quran frequently and by Remembrance of Allah's the Great and Almighty frequently*

(The Workers' Treasure, from Abdullah ibn Amr)

When your aim and direction are to Allah, you will know the meaning of this talk. The believer feels happy in this life even if he lives in a small humble house, has no children, his income is low because he has a relation with Allah the Great and Al-mighty. He is connected with the Source of happiness (Allah). If one has a relationship with a creature that is pretty, or he has a beautiful child, he says: we are very happy with him or her.
If you go to a beautiful place where you enjoy the green mountains, the blue and the nice breeze blows gently, you describe this feeling: By Allah, it is like Paradise, what would you say and feel if you have a relation with the Creator of this beauty and place?
Man might have a relation with creatures that have some beauty and thinks that he is happy with them. Paradise is the real and direct relation with Allah, the Great and Almighty.
The believer will look at Allah in Paradise and he or she will pass out for fifty thousand years out of the ecstasy of this look. Indeed, there is happiness in the hearts of the people of Paradise that no one knows but Allah, and forever: no fear, no sadness, no anxiety, no flaw or defect.
 Allah said:

Pleasing the prophet is like pleasing Allah:

“73-And those who kept their duty to their Lord (Al-Muttaqun) will be led to Paradise in groups and when they reach it its gates will open and its keepers will say: Salamun Allaikum (peace be upon you)! You have done well, so enter here to abide therein."”

(Az-Zumar-73)

“19-Then as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand will say:" Here! Read my Record!20-"Surely, I did believe that I shall face my Account!" 21-So he shall be in a life, well- pleasing.22-In a lofty Paradise,23-The fruits in bunches whereof will be low and near at hand. 24-Eat and drink to your heart’s content; this is a reward for what you did in the days gone by”

(Al-Haqqah, 19-24)

“1-Verily, We have granted you (O Muhammad [p.b.u.h]) Al-Kauthar (a river in Paradise). 2-Therefore turn in prayer to your Lord and sacrifice (to Him only).”

“1-Verily, We have granted you (O Muhammad [p.b.u.h]) Al-Kauthar (a river in Paradise).”

Who is the one who will be cut off? Who hates the Prophet [p.b.u.h], why does he hate him? Because he hates Allah, the Exalted and Glorious:

“62-They swear by Allah to you (Muslims) in order to please you, but it is more fitting that they should please Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad [p.b.u.h]), if they are believers.”

(At-Taubah-62)

This ayah came unlike the Arabic grammatical context. According to Arabic grammar it should say” please Allah and His Messenger” (them both) because it is Muthanna (plural of two names) [this does not exist in English grammar]. But Allah said: Yurdhohu [please Him] meant one name because Allah wants us to know that pleasing Allah is the same as pleasing his prophet (since the prophet is carrying the message of Allah) and vice versa, so pleasing Allah and his prophet is just like pleasing Allah.

”1-Verily, We have granted you (O Muhammad [p.b.u.h]) Al-Kauthar (a river in Paradise).”

That one who hated the Prophet, he hated him because he hated Allah, the Exalted and Glorious. The prophet said:

"Love Allah for what He supplies you with His Graces, and love me by Allah's Love, and love Aalulbait (my family) by my love, it was said: Who are Aalulbait? He said: every pious man is one of Aalulbait (from my family)".

Sometimes one boasts about his lineage (or prides himself on being of an ancient lineage), why? The prophet said" I am the forebear (ancestor) of every pious (one) even if he is an Abyssinian slave".
There are no principles better than the Islamic principles. No racism, all creature are Allah's Dependants (He supplies them with what they need), all people are equal as the teeth of the comb.

"O Sa'd, do not be proud that it was said (about you): the uncle of Allah's Messenger, for all the people are equal to Allah, no kinship (relationship) between them and He but their obedience to Allah the Great and Almighty"

The relationship is the obedience to Allah. Where is Abu Lahab (the Prophet's uncle, who didn’t believe in him)? Where is his fame now? He was cut off, and became among the lowest (most humiliated):

“20-Those who oppose Allah and His Messenger (p.b.u.h), they will be among the lowest (most humiliated).”

(Al-Hashr-20)

Where is Abu Jahl now? Those who denied, opposed and plotted against the Prophet, where are they now? In the lowest of low. To whom is the blessed end? By Allah, a ayah that whenever I read it, I feel shivery:

“128; and the (blessed) end is for Al-Muttaqun (the pious).”

(Al-A'raf, from ayah 128)

The disbeliever does whatever he or she wills and then perish. However, the believer is blessed in this life and in the Hereafter. You can see how his life is blessed: in his marriage, in his house, in his future. He or she spends the last years of life happy, he or she get wiser and become more devoted and interested in Allah's Knowledge. (To simplify the concept): If the believer’s life blotted on a graph it would be a straight line rising up. This straight line never bends, fall or stop rising. And death on it is just a dot. In the other hand, the disbeliever’s line may start as a rising straight line but eventually it bends and collapses.

Relation to Allah is obedience:

“3-For he who hates you (O Muhammad[p.b.u.h]), he will be cut off (from prosperity and every good thing in this world and in the Hereafter).”

Where are the enemies of Islam? Those who waged war against Allah and His Messenger, where are they now? And what is the fate of those who wanted to extinguish Allah's Light? They are tortured in their graves, while the believers are in the flowering meadows the Paradise. Hence

The blessed end is for the pious:

"and the (blessed) end is for Al-Muttaqun (the pious)."

This should stay in your mind and life: the believer is precious to Allah.
The people are two groups; the believers whom Allah loves and the disbelievers whom Allah does not love. You as a believer, your life is precious to Allah including your marriage. He chooses for you the suitable wife that you live happily with and helps you with your religious affairs. He chooses children for you so you will earn good deeds by taking care of them and might make you happy and proud when they grow up if they choose the right path.
He chooses for you a good job to earn money. If you know Him, He knows you and then He honors you.

" Know Me during comfort I know you during hardship", " Be for Me as I want, I will be for you as you want ", " Be for Me as I want and do not tell Me what is best for you ", " You want and I want, so if you submit to Me with what I want, I suffice you against what you want, and if you do not submit to Me with what I want, I will exhaust you in what you want, then nothing will be but what I want".

"And the (blessed) end is for Al-Muttaqun (the pious)."

“3-For he who hates you (O Muhammad [p.b.u.h]), he will be cut off (from prosperity and every good thing in this world and in the Hereafter).”

He is the cut off. Strangely enough, our master Ikremah is the son of Abu Jahl, he loved the Prophet (p.b.u.h), devoted himself to him and sold himself for the truth. In spite of being the son of that cunning enemy, he followed the Prophet and hated his father, Abu Jahl. And the Prophet is very gracious and kind, he said:

" Ikremah has come to you as a Muslim, so beware you revile his father, that reviling the dead hurts the live one and doesn't reach the dead one”

(The Workers' Treasure, from Abdullah ibn Az-Zubair)

He said that to show his respect for him (Ikremah).
Umea (Umayyad) ibn Khalaf, Abu Jahl, Utbah and Shaibah sons of Rabi'a, those who disbelieved, waged war, plotted, and didn't use their minds, where are they now? Islam is at the peak. The caravan is moving and the dogs are barking. The dog’s barking doesn't affect the clouds because the clouds are in the sky and they keep moving. And that how Islam is like: a cloud.
If you want to oppose Islam, you are just as if you pour oil on the fire, it (Islam) becomes stronger and more brilliant, therefore, Allah said:

‘ 3-For he who hates you (O Muhammad [p.b.u.h]), he will be cut off”

He gets cut off, forgotten, neglected, the history neglects and forgets them, and the history is a good judge.
